Chapter 40: A Dinner In Shabby Restaurant
Hearing her, Lendon raised his eyebrows and smiled. "You looked poor, so I extend a helping hand to clear this issue. If you just want to say thank you, save it. I don't like verbal appreciation." He said arrogantly.
Kendra felt so speechless. Of course, Lendon was always flippant and impudent. He really ruined her mood to utter her thank you. This man has always been so proud and cold, yet he's been ready to stand beside her. He doesn't hesitate to clear all her problems along the way.
"What? How do I know if you are sincere if you don't show me by using other ways?" Lendon walked closer to Kendra, bent down immediately, and was ready to kiss her.
Kendra was trapped by Lendon inside the elevator, and her heartbeats sped up. Meanwhile, her coat dropped suddenly, so her neck was exposed right in front of his eyes.
Lendon looked at Kendra's neck and lowered his head, biting her shoulder. He couldn't stop his desire when he saw how pretty she was, as her face blushed.
"Ouch!" Kendra frowned and gently pushed his chest, "What are you doing?" She could hear her own heart beat and was afraid to be seen by others as she noticed the CCTV camera on top of them.
"I want to taste you now, Kendra." Lendon stared at Kendra as if she was his prey and a flirtatious smile broke at the corner of his mouth.
Kendra covered her chest and pointed to a CCTV, saying, "There is a CCTV here. Are you crazy?"
"Don't worry. I won't force you even without it." Lendon rubbed his lips slowly and said. He looked at his teeth print on Kendra's shoulder and smiled with satisfaction.
Lendon picked his coat up and told her to wear it again.
"Does it hurt?" Lendon asked.
"Of course!" Kendra nodded, still blushing. Who will gonna love this kind of flirting inside the small space of the elevator?
"Don't treat it," Lendon uttered.
"Why?" Embarrassed, she asked immediately. She really couldn't understand. If she didn't treat this teeth print, she would have a scar. Why did Lendon bite her anyway?
"It proves that you belong to me—my woman. A permanent mark on your body," Lendon smiled triumphantly. His eyes fell on Kendra's face while his hands ran through her hair and brushed it gently.
Suddenly, the elevator stopped on the 33rd floor. When the door opened, she walked out quickly.
Lendon followed her and held her shoulder. When they passed the secretaries' office, he said, "Ada, find a dress that suits her," Then, he took Kendra to his office directly.
This was Kendra's first time coming to Lendon's office. It was decorated with European style, and it looked elegant, adorable, and expensive, screaming a vast fortune.
"Sit down." Lendon pointed at a sofa and said.
"I will leave as soon after I change my clothes." Kendra sat down while looking at him.
"No!" Lendon refused, "I have a meeting. You wait for me here. We'll go out together,"
Kendra didn't say no. It seemed that she had no right to say no at all. Afraid to offend him, she just went silent instead.
After a while, a secretary came holding a beautiful dress.
"Miss, this is the dress Mr. Martin had asked me to bring,"
Smiled, she nodded, "Thank you so much,"
"I have to go now,"
The secretary disappeared immediately, and Kendra went to the bathroom and put the dress on. Then, she came back to the sofa where she sat earlier. She noticed some magazine at the coffee table, picked up one then read it.
She was left alone as Lendon went out for a meeting, so she just freely leaned her back on the sofa with the magazine. An hour passed, she stood in front of the window and looked down, impressed by the city view. The beautiful scenery made her feel better. She had to admit that Lendon was good at making things so enjoyable. She could see the entire city from the top floor of this office. The different neon lights were like a million stars in the sky, looking fascinating.
After a while, Kendra walked to Lendon's desk and sat down on his chair carefully. She leaned against the chair, shutting her eyes, and imagined herself to be a boss. Some naughty thoughts running through her head, she imagined what would happen if she were Lendon's boss.
"You are as stupid as a pig! How do you do your job?" Kendra said in anger.
"I am sorry, boss." Lendon pouted and begged poorly.
"I don't need your apology. I paid you to work for me, but you can't even complete such a simple job." Kendra glared at Lendon and shouted, "Get out!" She slammed her hands hard on the table.
"I am sorry, boss. I will go immediately." Lendon said and sprinted to the door.
Kendra couldn't help but laugh out. It was funny. She could torture Lendon as she wanted in her imagination.
"What are you doing?" Out from nowhere, Lendon's voice came in.
Kendra opened her eyes immediately and woke up from her imagination. When did he return? She didn't notice that he had arrived.
Kendra panicked, and she fell down from the chair. She seemed to see a ghost.
"Stupid girl!" Lendon frowned, but he helped Kendra get up immediately.
Suddenly, hearing what he said brought her back some old memories. Kendra was lost for words when she heard Lendon a while ago. Strange, but why did she feel it was so familiar? She can't help but think deeply about it. The last words keep playing in her mind.
"What are you doing?" Lendon asked casually.
Kendra blushed and shook her head, "Nothing."
"Nothing?" Lendon stared at Kendra and asked doubtfully.
"Yeah, nothing." Kendra insisted. How could she tell him that she was torturing him in her mind? And aside from that, something is bothering her mind.
Lendon pulled Kendra to him and checked his teeth prints. Then, he smiled and said, "Nice look."
The beautiful dress which Kendra wore was so elegant and sexy. It showed all her curves.
Noticing his gaze, Kendra looked away, "Have you finished your meeting? Can we have dinner now?" She felt a little hungry. She quickly glanced at the wall clock, and it said, past seven in the evening.
"You can choose a place. You behave well today." Lendon smiled, gently caressed her cheek.
"Really?" She was delighted, hearing him say that words.
"Of course," He winked. But before Kendra could answer him back, he pulled her closer, bent his head, and kissed her deeply. Eyes wide open, Kendra could only stare at him.
"That was a big reward," He said after parting his lips from hers. He even brushed it with his finger. "It's swollen, but you look even more pretty," He whispered.
Kendra was speechless and rolled her eyes. Lendon's laughter filled the entire office.
Half an hour later, Kendra took Lendon to a small restaurant.
"Kendra, is this the best place you wanted to have dinner?" Lendon looked at the restaurant and was displeased. It seemed dirty and shabby. What's worse, it was so crowded.
Lendon stood outside and glared at Kendra. "We should go somewhere else. I can't stay in this kind of place," He blurted out.
"No, you said I could choose a place that I want. I haven't been here for a long time." Kendra smiled, "You can leave me if you want. I will stay here." She began to walk towards the restaurant.
"Wait!" Defeated, Lendon clenched his hands but followed her immediately.
"Do you want to join me?" Kendra turned around, naughtily asked him. "You said a while ago you can't stay in this kind of place,"
"Fine.Whatever! Your taste is really simple," He complained.
Since they arrived past eight in the evening, several people were having their dinner, so this small restaurant was filled with noise and smoke from the grilled foods on the other side. Lendon and Kendra sat at the corner and checked the menu.
"Miss Miller, it's been a while since you came here last time." The owner came to their table as she recognized Kendra. Greeted her politely.
"Yes, I want to have some sandwiches! I really miss them!" Kendra gave her pleasant smile to the owner, who became her friend.
"No problem." The lady said and looked at Lendon, "He must be your boyfriend. He looked so handsome," The lady admired Lendon.
The lady's words flattered Lendon, but he kept silent.
"I want this!" Ignoring the owner, Kendra smiled awkwardly and said.
"Okay, what does he want?" The lady asked.
"What do you want?" Kendra gave the menu to Lendon and asked.
"Same with you." Lendon glared at Kendra, feeling aggrieved.
"Got it." Then the owner left immediately.
"Was there a time you take a man with you to have dinner in this shabby restaurant?" Lendon suddenly asked.
"No, you are the only one." Kendra wiped the table and answered him sincerely. She felt a little strange somehow, but she didn't know why.
When he heard her answer, he smiled and stared at her.
"What's on my face?" Kendra rubbed her cheeks as she noticed him having a broad smile on his lips.
"Since you said I'm the first man you brought here, then I think I'm special," Lendon pinched Kendra's cheek, winking.
"Stop it, will you?" Kendra gently slapped Lendon's hand and complained.
Soon, the lady had returned, served the sandwiches and the food for them, "Here are your orders."
"Thank you." Kendra nodded and grabbed her food immediately. She really missed the taste of these foods.
Soon, Kendra found that Lendon didn't move at all. He just stared at her. Her reaction amused him.
"Why don't you eat?" She put down her fork.
"Can I?" Lendon hesitantly asked, looking at the food on his plate.
Indeed, Lendon was used to eating expensive food in an expensive restaurant, so he naturally rejected these cheap foods.
