Chapter 34: Attending A Party
She wanted to ask Curtis why Lendon decided to bring her to the party; however, she chose not to speak her mind. Kendra sat in the car and waited for Lendon.
"Mr. Martin." A bodyguard greeted him and opened the car door.
Lendon got on and sat down next to Kendra with his black suit. He even looked stunning, and Kendra couldn't help but admire this man.
"Why did you take so long?" Lendon frowned, staring at her elegant appearance.
Kendra didn't want any argument, lowered her head, and in a low voice, she uttered, "I am sorry. It was my fault. I didn't saw Curtis's call earlier,"
Lendon stared at Kendra and said nothing. He was happy to see her like this.
Kendra felt shy and pulled her dress hemline. She felt uncomfortable the way Lendon stared at her.
Lendon grabbed Kendra's hand and held her chin, looking down to her breasts and smiling evilly. He knew that Kendra had a perfect figure, but this dress just made her more attractive.
"Curtis, give the stylist some rewards. She made the ugly duckling into a beautiful swan," Lendon joked and couldn't take his eyes off Kendra. He was satisfied with this dress because Kendra looked so damn hot. Every curve of her body streaked to the dress she was wearing.
"Yes, sir." Curtis, who was sitting at the front, answered quickly without giving them a glance.
Kendra felt embarrassed, and her face turned red. She could only look away and covered her chest. Lendon's fervent look made her even shyer.
Lendon noticed her embarrassment as Kendra wanted to hide herself, he suddenly pressed a button, and a car partition rose to isolate them from those people who were sitting in the front seat. Lendon grabbed Kendra's hands and squeezed her into a corner.
"What are you doing?" She looked at him in horror and nervously asked.
Without any explanation, Lendon pulled Kendra into his arms and kissed her slightly open mouth. He deepened the kiss until Kendra responded to him passionately.
After a while, Kendra lay in Lendon's arms, and her heart beat rapidly. How could she flirt with Lendon inside the car? Though there was a partition covering them from his people, she knew Curtis must hear them.
"Kendra, you are good at seducing me." Lendon looked at her eyes with burning desire.
Kendra fell silent. She did nothing, how can she seduce him? This man is really so shameless, accusing her deliberately.
"Alexis must give me a solution sooner. It will kill me if I can't touch you. How can I resist longer, seeing my woman looking damn hot?" Lendon smelled Kendra's hair and whispered.
Hearing his words, Kendra felt so scared. If Alexis did find a solution, would she have to sleep with Lendon every night? What the hell! She doesn't want to be his bed warmer.
"Don't you want it?" Lendon looked into Kendra's eyes. His eyes were full of discernment, waiting for her response that any moment if she gives the unfavorable answer, he will punish her.
"I hope you can be cured as soon as possible." Kendra shook her head and answered immediately.
"You seem to miss my body, too," Lendon said proudly, slightly pinched her cheeks, and gave her another kiss. It took another minute before he let go of her lips. He was satisfied with her manner.
Kendra didn't know how to answer this cunning man.
"Your lips are swollen." Lendon rubbed Kendra's lips and said, "But they look sexy." He added, traced his fingers into it.
On their way, Lendon kept torturing Kendra, touching her from fingers to toes, and Kendra can't even react, afraid that they would get heard.
"Mr. Martin, we are here," Curtis announced as the car stopped in front of a five-star hotel.
There was a long red carpet laid down the aisle. As soon as Lendon got off, all journalists surrounded him, and countless flashlights aimed at him. Kendra was really shocked. Was it a formal party? She wasn't aware of it as Lendon didn't mention to her what kind of party they would attend.
"Come on." Lendon smiled and stretched his arm out.
Kendra held Lendon's hand carefully and got out of the car. Immediately, those flashlights also caught her every move. Everyone gasped as they saw her coming out of Lendon's car. This has been the first time they saw Lendon bring a woman to attend a party.
Lendon held Kendra's waist and walked into the hotel along with his bodyguards and assistant.
After they got inside the elevator, Kendra finally felt relieved and asked, "Why are there so many journalists?"
"They want headlines," Lendon said casually, shrugging his shoulders. Arms were around her tiny waist, gently giving her a slight rub.
"Headline? You mean I will appear in the news headlines?" Kendra asked immediately, voice worried. Why did she always become the center of the news? She hadn't solved her mistress rumor yet, and here's another one that might ruin her reputation again.
"Whoever is with me will appear in the headlines. It's normal to them," Lendon proudly uttered without caring what those journalists would write about him.
Kendra felt helpless that Lendon never knew how to hide his conceit.
The elevator stopped on the 16th floor.
Kendra held Lendon's arm and walked into a big venue. She became the focus of attention all of a sudden. It felt uncomfortable when being stared at by so many people, but Kendra had to keep her manner. The entire hall fell silent, yet those envious eyes against Kendra were evident. She wanted to run away and hide. She hated this kind of social gathering where elite people often treated it as a competition to flaunt their extravagant life.
"Who is she? I have never seen her before."
"She must come from a rich family. She looks young. Look at her body, wow!"
"I heard that the CEO of Universe Group would introduce his granddaughter to rich men. Maybe he is looking for a grandson-in-law."
"It is possible. But I don't think anyone can match his granddaughter except Mr. Martin."
"Bingo! His target is Mr. Martin."
"No wonder. If he succeeds, no one can compete with Universe Group. It will be another business marriage,"
Walking around with Lendon, Kendra clearly heard those people talking about him. It turned out that this party was for blind dates. Then why did Lendon take her here? She had nothing to do with it.
Kendra quickly grabbed a cup of the cocktail when she saw the waiter approaching them, smiled at people she didn't know. She glanced at Lendon often, who now stood beside her.
"Lendon, I need to go to the Lady's room," Kendra whispered to him. They looked so intimate with that gesture, and it ignited another envious gaze.
Lendon stared at Kendra, nodded, "I will give you ten minutes,"
"Okay," Kendra nodded and sprinted towards the bathroom. She felt all her energy has drained as she stays with Lendon. She needed a break. He was a nobleman, and everyone wanted to flatter him. She couldn't get used to it at all.
When Kendra walked out of the Lady's room, she heard two women discussing her identity. She felt so exhausted and went back to the venue. However, she couldn't find Lendon. Therefore, Kendra had to stay in a corner alone.
After a few minutes, the CEO of Universe Group appeared on the center stage and introduced his granddaughter. Then, a pretty girl walked towards the stage.
Looking at the girl, Kendra felt like she saw a fairy. This girl was so beautiful! But why did Kendra feel that she saw this girl somewhere before?
As Kendra tried to recall something, someone pulled her ear.
"Kendra! I said ten minutes! You have disappeared for half an hour!" Lendon called her attention. Kendra turned around and saw Lendon's angry face.
"Lendon, let go of me. I can explain." Kendra said and felt so embarrassed. How could Lendon pull her ear in front of other people? But it was apparent that Lendon wouldn't control his emotions at any time.
"I don't want your explanation," Lendon growled.
"I'm sorry." Kendra grabbed Lendon's hand and begged, "I'm sorry. I won't do it anymore. Just let go,"
It was lucky that Kendra chose a corner, and there were only fewer people surrounding them. If many guests noticed her, what should she do? However, at that time, the girl who was introduced to the center stage walked to them.
"Hi, Mr. Martin." She politely greeted Lendon, eyes fell on Kendra.
Everyone's attention was on them right now.
She felt shy, panicked. It was clearly written on her face. Now that people all looked at her, she felt more nervous, hands were shaking.
"Go away!" Lendon glared at the girl and shouted, "Don't you see I am busy?"
Everyone was shocked. The girl didn't know what to do. She didn't expect that Lendon will yell at her. She regained her composure immediately.
Kendra struggled to set her ear free from Lendon's hand and rubbed it.
Lendon stared at Kendra and didn't care about others at all. His anger can't be relieved, worried why Kendra has gone for so long.
After a while, the girl smiled and introduced herself again, "Maybe you don't know me yet. I am Joyce… I'm the granddaughter..."
"Go away." Lendon interrupted Joyce impatiently.
"What?! Didn't you heard what I said?" His voice raised, making the girl felt terrified.
