Chapter 78: What Was he Thinking About?

Tonight is another passionate night for them.
It was cool the next morning. Kendra got tired and slept in Lendon's arms last night. Suddenly, she felt cold and woke up.
Lendon was still asleep. Kendra looked down and saw her body naked, covered with red marks. Lendon got the whole quilt with him. Damn! He didn't leave her a quilt at all!
Kendra coughed and rubbed her nose.
Lendon woke up and looked at Kendra blankly. "What's up?" He asked.
"It's cold." Kendra glared at Lendon and took the quilt. She coughed again.
"Did you catch a cold?" Lendon held Kendra and asked. He just woke up, so his voice sounded sexy this early.
"I don't know." Kendra shook her head and quickly explained. She did feel uncomfortable. No doubt, she must have slept without a quilt last night. That was why she felt cold just now.
Lendon got close to Kendra and felt her temperature with his cheek. Soon, he frowned and said, "You are burning. You must have a fever."
"Let's go back." Kendra looked at Lendon drowsily and said. She needed to go to a doctor. She felt so uncomfortable.
"I heard it would feel better to have sex when you get a fever." Lendon stared at Kendra and said. His eyes were full of desire.
"Are you crazy?" Kendra glared at Lendon and asked. What was he thinking about? He was definitely a monster. Kendra lay down weakly and kept coughing.
"Let's have a try." Lendon said and lay above Kendra, "Maybe you will get better soon." However, Kendra lost all her strength after a few minutes. She lay on the ground and couldn't move at all.
"Kendra?" Lendon pulled Kendra and asked. What the hell? Was she so weak? He was not wild at all, and why couldn't Kendra bear him?
"I don't feel good." Kendra closed her eyes and murmured. Her forehead got sweaty, and her face turned red.
"What's wrong with you?" Lendon held Kendra and asked nervously.
"So hot..." Kendra murmured.
"Damn!" Lendon cursed and helped Kendra dress up. Then, he got up and called Curtis to take them back.
When they arrived at the castle, Kendra had fallen asleep.
Lendon took Kendra to her room and called Alexis to check her.
"She has a fever." Alexis looked at Lendon and asked, "She was fine yesterday. What's up?"
"How do I know?" Lendon stared at Kendra and said coldly. In fact, he did know. He didn't take care of her last night, and she slept naked for the whole night.
"She will be fine as long as she takes some medicine. But she can't do strenuous exercise these days." Alexis said and looked at Lendon. He smiled ambiguously.
"What?" Lendon asked, "Why??" Damn! He couldn't touch Kendra again. He should have given the quilt to her!
"Miss Miller is weak. She can't do anything these days." Alexis said. Suddenly, he quickly came up with something and asked, "Mr. Martin, how many pills are left?"
"Only a few left," Lendon answered, feeling annoyed.
Alexis was speechless. Lendon was strong, he had to admit.
"Mr. Martin, before I make more pills, you'd better save some. After all, they are not easy to make." Alexis said.
Lendon realized what Alexis meant. He glared at Alexis and shouted, "Alexis! I pay you to work for me. Which side are you on?"
Alexis grabbed his medicine cabinet and got ready to run out. He shook his head and said, "No, I just want to remind you to be careful with your body. Before I find a cure for you, too much sex will cause your poison triggered."
"Get out! Don't give such a warning." Lendon waved his hand and said impatiently. He hated when they told him to stay away from Kendra. It was not his style to restrict his desire for a woman.
Alexis shrugged and walked out.
"You are getting slow. I will give you one more month, and if you still can't extract something from her, you will regret it." Lendon said in a gloomy face as Alexis walked out.
Hearing Lendon's threatening, Alexis trembled. He felt scared and almost staggered. How could he find the cure within a month? He had been studying with the poison for years, and it couldn't be hurried. But if he didn't follow Lendon's order, he may get punished. What should he do?
Alexis turned around and looked at Lendon.
"What's up?" Lendon asked.
"I just want to tell you that if I find the cure, Miss Miller may..." Alexis smiled and suddenly stopped at mid-sentence.
"What?" Lendon asked immediately. As long as it was about Kendra, he would extremely care.
"She may leave right away." Alexis looked at Kendra and said. He could only sell her out. Alexis only hoped that Kendra wouldn't blame him when she knew. She could only blame Lendon for forcing her to stay here.
"What? Who said she could leave?" Lendon glared at Alexis and asked.
"If our contract ends and you are healed, I can't leave?" Lendon remembered Kendra's question. He almost forgot that Kendra wanted to leave all the time. She never wanted to stay with him. She always hoped that she could leave after he was healed. No wonder she kept asking him about the poison last night. She wanted to leave him after he was healed.
"Mr. Martin?" Alexis looked at Lendon worriedly. Shit! Did he make a mistake? But he didn't know what to do except for selling Kendra out.
"Alexis." Lendon suddenly said.
"Yes," Alexis answered.
"You can find my cure secretly. Don't tell Kendra your progress." Lendon ordered him.
"I still only have one month?" Alexis asked carefully.
"If you can't do it, you can leave now." Lendon kicked a chair and shouted.
Alexis was frightened.
Kendra also frowned in sleep.
"Get out," Lendon ordered coldly with a sullen look.
"Yes," Alexis said and left. It seemed that he had to quicken his speed to find the cure.
Lendon stared at Kendra, who was in a deep sleep, and his facial expression still didn't get any better. He kept recalling what Kendra said in the Garden Hotel.
"You want to leave? No way! It is impossible!" Lendon suddenly grabbed Kendra's neck and shouted.
Kendra felt pain and groaned.
"You can't leave me. Kendra, do you hear me?" Lendon said in anger. His eyes even turned red. No matter if she is alive or dead, she has to be together with him.
Kendra frowned with sweats on her forehead. Her face turned red.
"Ah!" Anne screamed as she walked to Kendra's room and saw what Lendon was doing. She heard Kendra was sick, so she wanted to check on her, but she didn't expect to see this.
Hearing Anne's screaming, Lendon finally got his breath again and loosened his hands.
"Mr. Martin!" Anne looked at Lendon with horror and shouted.
Lendon turned around to glance at Anne coldly and stood up. He left immediately without any explanation.
Anne leaned against the wall to stand still. What did she see? Did Lendon grab Kendra's neck? Why? Anne couldn't figure it out.
Kendra woke up the next day.
"Miss Miller, you finally woke up," Anne said and felt relieved. She helped Kendra sat up and asked, "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"
"Anne? Why are you here?" Kendra asked. She thought Lendon would be the first person she saw when she woke up.
Mr. Martin went out. Curtis told me to stay here in case you wake up." Anne stared at Kendra's pale face and asked, "How do you feel now? Your temperature is normal now, but you still look weak." She touched Kendra's forehead to feel Kendra's temperature.
"I am fine. I just caught a cold." Kendra smiled and said.
"What do you want to eat? I will tell the chief." Anne asked.
"I want to have some porridge. I am hungry now." Kendra rubbed her stomach and said.
"Okay," Anne said and went to the kitchen. Kendra leaned against her bed and rubbed her forehead. Though she slept for a day, she still felt sleepy. Did she really look so weak? Kendra took a small mirror on the bed table and looked at it. Suddenly, she found something. There was a light scar around her neck.
"Miss Miller, porridge is ready." Anne went back and said.
"Okay." Kendra put her mirror down and said, "It smells delicious!"
"You should take a shower later. Though it's just a cold, you should be careful. You will be fine soon." Anne smiled and said worriedly.
