Chapter 59: What Was Their Relationship?

They knew Lendon was the renowned duke, and no one dares to go against him. Everyone stood still with horror, except Michael. He looked at Lendon coldly. Michael did want to ruin this party, but he never expected that Lendon would do this for him. And Lendon seemed to get revenge for Kendra. What was their relationship?
"Lendon, I lost my way. It's not his fault." Kendra finally said, covering her father's evil scheme. She didn't want to make the situation worse, so she tried to accept the blame instead.
Lendon walked to Champagne tower and smiled evilly. Then, he reached his hand out to push the tower. In an instant, all the glasses fell down and made a huge noise.
"Lendon!" Kendra grabbed Lendon's arm and begged, "Please. Could you stop it? Let's leave here, please?"
William and Robert had already started trembling. It was not rare for Lendon to kill someone. They all knew it.
Lendon seemed to enjoy doing revenge for Kendra. He glanced at his bodyguards and ordered, "Smash it all!"
The bodyguards broke everything inside the hall into pieces within 10 minutes. No one dared to stop them. All guests left one by one.
Soon, the previous luxurious hall turned into a chaotic place.
"Mr. Martin, it's all done." A bodyguard lowered his head and reported.
Lendon smiled and walked to Robert. He glared at him and said, "Mr. Miller, it is a misunderstanding. I hope you understand that a simple mistake will lead to a big surprise,"
How arrogant Lendon was! Robert wanted to scream at him, yet choke back his words. Kendra felt so worried that her legs almost lost strength. She continued to beg, "Lendon, please. Let's go." She couldn't believe that she really ruined Bianca's engagement party.
Lendon frowned and hesitated for a while. Then, he finally nodded and said, "Let's go." Lendon held Kendra and left directly.
The engagement between Bianca and Michael finally became a joke because of Lendon.
Robert was still in panic. He rubbed his forehead and felt so tired. Robert suddenly passed out after Lendon left. His heart disease was triggered after he witnessed how Lendon ruined everything. Marga and Bianca had to take him to the hospital immediately.
"What the hell? This is ridiculous!" William shouted in anger. He had never been humiliated before. Lendon Martin did such a damn thing just because he was a duke! This made them lost their faces. William was so furious, as the engagement turned into a terrible event.
As for Michael, he was just curious. How did Kendra get to know Lendon Martin? They seemed like a couple. Thinking about it, Michael frowned.
"Michael, I am sorry." William apologized to his son.
"No, it's fine. I don't care about this party at all," Michael patted his dad's shoulder and said.
"It's Kendra's fault." Jane suddenly sobered up, and she almost yelled, mentioning Kendra's name. Instead of accepting her mistakes, she blamed Kendra for ruining the engagement.
"Mom…"
"If she hadn't come with that arrogant man, this party would have been a big success!" Jane got mad and cursed, "She is a bitch! If the world knows what happened today, they will laugh at us. Kendra humiliated us!"
"Shut up!" William glared at his wife, "I blame you. Who told you to let Bianca replace Kendra? You knew everything from the beginning, but you never told me the truth," Only until then did he know the truth that Kendra should be Michael's fiancée.
"I don't have another choice." Jane explained, "Marga told me that Kendra is a slut. She was pregnant before, and Robert kicked her out of their family. So I have to agree with their suggestion."
"You are fooled by Marga!" William frowned and said, "We will be a joke after today."
"What should we do then?" Jane asked worriedly.
"We should break off this engagement," William said seriously. He can't let Michael marry Bianca after what had happened.
Jane and Michael were both surprised.
"Michael can marry another girl. Unfortunately, the Miller family offended Lendon Martin. If Michael chooses to marry Bianca, we will be in big trouble." William said.
"But…"
"I have made up my mind." William interrupted Jane, raised his hand to stop her words.
Michael felt confused and asked, "But we need their money. Our company has a financial problem. That's why I accepted this proposal to be engaged with Bianca. Don't we need their help?" Michael saw the company's statement of account his mother showed earlier. He was sure that his father's company needed help.
William was pissed off after hearing Michael's words. He glared at Jane and shouted, "You lied to Michael?"
"I…" Jane didn't know what to say.
"Mom, you faked that statement of account?" Then, finally, Michael realized something and almost got mad with his mother.
"Michael, listen to me. I…" Jane wanted to explain.
"No, it's not necessary. I won't marry Bianca. I will tell them tomorrow that I will break the engagement. This is ridiculous! You ruined our reputation, Mom," Michael interrupted Jane in anger, "You guys can go back home now." He left immediately without giving a glance to his parents.
"Look what you did! Our son was angry, this is all your fault," William shouted at Jane and complained.

On the way back to the castle, Kendra lay in Lendon's arms and felt uncomfortable.
"Turn up the heat." Lendon held Kendra in his arms and ordered his driver. When he saw Kendra trembling in his arms, he felt so heartbroken. How could she bear all the humiliation made by her father? She doesn't deserve all of it.
The car became warmer quickly. Kendra finally felt better.
"Do you still feel cold?" Lendon rubbed Kendra's hand and brought it to his lips, then gave a gentle kiss.
"You ruined their party." Kendra looked into Lendon's eyes, sad.
"Yes," Lendon said casually. He didn't care about the party at all.
"They made a mistake, but…." Kendra grabbed Lendon's hand, voice even became sadder. Her face was pale.
"Shut up!" Lendon interrupted Kendra unhappily, "I know what I am doing. They hurt you first, so I took the initiative to punish them. I can't allow anybody to hurt you,"
Kendra didn't know what to say. Robert did lock her up. But Bianca was innocent. She thought. How should she explain everything to Bianca?
"Lendon, promise me one thing." Kendra looked at him seriously.
"No!" Lendon glared at Kendra and said, "Why do you always beg for them? They are not even treating you as their family member. Are you going to forgive them? You must be crazy. I can't listen to you,"
Kendra was speechless. After all, Lendon was right, but she can't bear to see that her father will get humiliated.
"It's them who hurt you, not me. So don't act like I am the bad guy here." Lendon said coldly.
"I just hope that you can deal with tomorrow's news," Kendra said faintly. Journalists would definitely not miss today's big news. Tomorrow's headlines are all about Miller and Baker for sure.
"Do you know how much money I need to shut those journalists?" Lendon glared at Kendra and asked.
"I know it's huge. But Michael and Bianca are innocent. We can't hurt them." Kendra pleaded again. "Please, Lendon, do something for the bad headlines tomorrow,"
Lendon said nothing.
"Lendon, look at me, I am fine. You don't need to punish them," Kendra tried to persuade him. She was surprised that Lendon really ruined the party for her. It was way too crazy.
"Coward!" Lendon rolled his eyes.
Kendra just looked at him and smiled.
After a while, Lendon finally nodded and said, "Fine, I will help them this time. But they can never offend me again, or…."
"Thank you so much." Kendra nodded quickly and felt relieved. She was curious, in fact. Lendon was so nice to her recently. Did he really like her? But why? Did she have something special? It was really making her anxious. She witnessed all the bad habits and behaviors Lendon had, but he never failed to protect her when she's in danger.
After they arrived at the castle, Kendra went back to her room. However, Bianca called her soon.
"Kendra, dad, is in danger," Bianca said and choked with sobs.
Kendra felt nervous and asked, "What happened?" She suddenly felt panic.
"After you left, dad's heart disease triggered. We sent him to the hospital, and doctors just gave us a critically ill notice." Bianca informed her.
Though Robert was not a good father, Kendra still felt worried.
"What should I do?" Bianca was sobbing.
"I am coming now. Wait for me." Kendra said and hung up. As she walked out of her room, Lendon suddenly appeared and stopped her.
"Where are you going?" Lendon frowned.
"I…" Kendra hesitated. She didn't dare to tell Lendon the truth, but she couldn't find an excuse, so she was anxious.
"Say it." Lendon stared at her, waiting for her answer.
Kendra fidgeted and took a deep breath. "I am going to the hospital." She finally burst out.
"What?" Lendon asked doubtfully.
"It hurts," Kendra said and suddenly squatted, rubbing her belly.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Lendon asked in a panic.
"I feel uncomfortable." Kendra grabbed Lendon's hand, still pretending to be ill.
"Why?" Lendon felt strange and asked.
Kendra closed her eyes and pretended that her stomach hurt badly, "I must eat something spoiled. Lendon held Kendra and rushed to Alexis's lab.
"I want to go to the hospital." Kendra stopped him.
"Let Alexis check you first," Lendon argued.
"No, I want to go to the hospital." Kendra insisted.
Lendon frowned and changed his direction.
