Chapter 77: Which One Was The Real Her?
She couldn't help but praise him. Indeed, the barbecue tasted good. She wanted to have more.
Kendra went back to Lendon and stared at him. Her mouth was even watering. "Lendon…"
"No," Lendon said as soon as Kendra spoke. He knew what she wanted, but he smiled and said, "You can't take more."
"But I am hungry." Kendra blinked her eyes and complained like a child. She even pouted her lips.
Lendon suddenly got excited. Did Kendra know that she could turn him on easily?
"I am almost done. Do you want to eat them?" Lendon stared at Kendra and began to tease her.
Kendra nodded quickly.
"Kiss me," Lendon said and turned his face to Kendra.
"Fine. Just one kiss." Kendra agreed and tiptoed immediately since Lendon is taller than her.
As Kendra was about to kiss Lendon's cheek, Lendon suddenly tilted his head and kissed Kendra's lips quickly.
Kendra realized that Lendon fooled her, and she blushed. She widened her eyes and glared at him.
"Wait for a minute. It will be ready soon." Lendon patted Kendra's head and said with a big smile.
Ten minutes later, Lendon got all the meat cooked. In order to eat dinner, Kendra tried everything to make Lendon happy. Finally, Lendon took all the meat that Kendra had tasted.
Time passed quicker. Soon, night fell. They sat in the tent together.
Lendon held Kendra and looked up to the sky.
"Wow, there are so many stars." Kendra was amazed by the beautiful night scenery.
"It is easy to observe stars. You just need to find a science museum." Lendon glanced at Kendra disdainfully and said."
"That's different." Kendra smiled and said, "When I was a child, my mom would take me to a mountain top, and we would look at the stars, waiting for sunrise. There was no haze then, and I could see many stars."
"What's special with the stars?" Lendon asked. He couldn't understand Kendra. Sometimes, she seemed easy to get satisfied. But sometimes, she acted so differently from his expectations. Which one was the real her?
"No, I just like watching natural scenery." Kendra said and pointed to the moon, "Look, how round the moon is!"
"I hate the moon," Lendon said coldly.
"You don't like it because of your poison?" Kendra looked to Lendon and asked curiously.
Hearing Kendra's question, there was a flash of mixed emotions appearing in Lendon's eyes.
Kendra stared at him and waited for his answer.
"When I was six, my family had a serious crisis. Many people died, and I am the only survivor." Lendon suddenly explained. He sounded so calm and cold, as if he was just telling a story.
Kendra recalled what Curtis told her. "A few years ago, Mr. Martin caught the poison during his training. Since then, he would feel pain on full-moon nights."
"You caught the poison that year?" Kendra asked.
"Yes. Someone injected wolf blood into my body on purpose." Lendon nodded and said.
How cruel! Thinking about Lendon's pain on full-moon nights, Kendra felt worried. She realized that she didn't know Lendon much, in fact. What had he been through? "Since then, wolf blood has gradually permeated into my body. I will turn into a wolf sometimes, even at ordinary times." Lendon looked to the moon and said in a reluctant tone, "So I hate the moon."
"You haven't found a cure during these years. What about the one who poisoned you? He didn't know how to heal you?" Kendra asked. If Lendon could find out who poisoned him, he could at least ask for some information from the man.
"I can't find him." Lendon's sad voice came in.
"What?" Kendra couldn't believe what she heard.
"I can find nothing about him. It seems that he never existed in this world. I don't know who he is or where the cure is." Lendon said. He looked calm now, but some sharp emotion appeared in his eyes. That was why he couldn't cure his poison during the past few years.
Kendra couldn't imagine what Lendon went through. He had turned into a wolf more than a hundred times. That must be terrifying. She saw him at that moment several times.
"What does it feel like to be a wolf?" Kendra asked. She remembered Lendon's green eyes when she rushed into the castle for the first time. She was so horrible then.
"It feels good!" Lendon said.
"What?" Kendra's eyes widened. What did she hear? Lendon smiled evilly and put his hand on Kendra's belly. He whispered, "It feels good to fuck you!"
Kendra felt speechless. He became naughty again.
Lendon laughed and rubbed Kendra's belly.
Kendra trembled and grabbed Lendon's hand. Then, she sat straight and said, "Don't move."
Lendon frowned and held Kendra again. Before Kendra struggled, he kissed her quickly. Lendon sucked Kendra's lips and whispered, "We should do something on such a wonderful night." His voice sounded so damn hot.
Before Kendra said anything, Lendon put her down and lay above her.
Under the moonlight, Kendra saw Lendon's smile clearly. She felt helpless and said, "Lendon, we should chat."
"Exercise is better. It will boost our stamina," Lendon insisted.
"I prefer chatting."
"No, I want to do some exercise."
"Chatting is better."
"Fine," Lendon said and lay next to Kendra.
Kendra was surprised. Lendon gave in so easily?
"Anyway, we have enough time. We can chat first." Lendon said.
Damn! Did she need to talk and sleep with him? Anyway, she could pretend to sleep later. Kendra made up her mind and said, "Lendon, can you tell me about your family?"
"Nothing to say," Lendon said. He always had disdained his family affair.
"I heard a lot of things about your family. It sounded legendary." Kendra said with interest.
"Not legendary at all. A group of old men guards an empty shell." Lendon sneered and said.
"You are the only successor of your family. What if they know about your poison?" Kendra asked curiously.
"I will die," Lendon said calmly.
"What? Is it so serious?" Kendra asked shockingly.
"Kendra, you kept asking about my family tonight. What do you want?" Lendon asked impatiently.
"No, I just want to talk to you." Kendra shrugged and said. Why was it so hard to communicate with him? He got angry so frequently.
"It's my turn now." Lendon stared at Kendra and asked seriously, "When will you love me?"
Kendra didn't know what to say. She was speechless.
"I have been so nice to you. Why can't you feel it?" Lendon asked unhappily. Why was Kendra so stubborn?
"I can't force myself," Kendra said helplessly.
"So you still don't like me?" Lendon glared at her and asked. It seemed that he was going to break out of his rage soon.
"Lendon, I..." Kendra wanted to explain.
"Never mind," Lendon said and held Kendra. Anyway, what he wanted was not her excuse. He'd rather save his time.
Kendra leaned against Lendon's chest and smiled helplessly. One day, he would realize that he couldn't always get what he wanted.
For example, he couldn't force her to love him.
"Why don't you speak?" Lendon put his chin on Kendra's shoulder and asked.
"You don't want to listen to me," Kendra gently said.
"I don't want you to explain why you don't like me, but you can say something else," Lendon said.
"What do you want to hear?" She gazed at him.
Lendon suddenly couldn't answer Kendra's question.
Kendra smiled and asked, "Have you ever been in love before?"
"No." Lendon shook his head and answered honestly.
"No wonder," Kendra said. No wonder Lendon kept asking her strange questions and forcing her to accept something she didn't want to accept.
"What? Do you feel funny?" Lendon asked. He couldn't allow Kendra to look down upon him.
"No, I just feel that you are not good at dealing with women." Kendra shook her head and said.
"So what? I don't need to deal with them. Everyone needs to do what I say." Lendon sneered and snorted. He is a duke, and everything was served to him, including women.
Of course, he was always so rude and arrogant. Kendra smiled and said, "Surely, God is fair."
"What do you mean?" Lendon asked.
"Nothing." Kendra shrugged her shoulders. Yes, Lendon was smart, rich, and handsome, but he had very low EQ. Therefore, God was fair. If he opened a window for you, he would shut the door at the same time.
"Are you mocking me?" Lendon glared at Kendra and asked.
"No, don't misunderstand me." Kendra smiled and said.
"Okay, you'd better explain why you smile, or..." Lendon said and rubbed Kendra's belly again.
"Stop! It is so itchy!" Kendra laughed and quickly grabbed Lendon's hand to stop what he's doing.
"Don't you dare to laugh at me again?" Lendon warned her.
"No, I won't! Please stop!" Kendra begged.
Suddenly, Lendon pressed Kendra underneath him and stared at her. "Enough chatting now. Shall we begin to exercise?" He asked.
What the hell? Before Kendra said anything, Lendon kissed her right away.
