Chapter 42: Severe Pain

When people had gone, he still can't calm down. How can Curtis tell him that he cares about such a hard-headed woman? She didn't even listen to him? He needed to talk to her and quickly ascended to Kendra's room.
Kendra lay on her bed and punched her pillows fiercely. She felt so mad and cursed several times, "Asshole! Arrogant! Damn! Who told you to beat others? Damn you, Lendon!" She never saw someone as violent, unreasonable, and merciless like Lendon. Damn him!
Later, Kendra felt tired and went quiet. She realized all her energy was worn out.
Suddenly, someone knocked on her door quickly and loudly. Obviously, she knew it was Lendon, and she doesn't want to talk to him right now.
"Kendra, get out of your room!" Lendon kicked the door successively and shouted in anger.
Kendra was infuriated again. She would never open the door for Lendon even if he went mad!
Lendon didn't stop knocking. "Kendra, open this fucking door!"
Before Kendra got up, the door was open, and Lendon walked in quickly towards her.
Before Lendon said anything, Kendra spoke first, "What do you want? You have beaten Alexis. Do you want to beat me too?"
"You think I won't do that?" Lendon glared at her, and veins swelled out on his forehead.
"Just do it! Now!" Kendra closed her eyes, shouted, ready to accept beating from him. She wished that Lendon could kill her directly so that she wouldn't need to face this psycho anymore. She hated him this time.
Lendon raised his hand up but didn't beat Kendra. Shit! He kicked a chair and pulled Kendra up, shouting, "Do you think I won't beat you? Woman, don't push your luck and test my patience,"
"Do it!" Kendra continued to stimulate Lendon, "What else can you do except for beating? I know you are powerful, rich, and have a lot of money. You can easily do whatever you want. Just kill me now!"
"You!" Lendon was so irritated, gripping her arms tightly. His face was gloomy, but he can't lift his hand to beat her.
"What? Do it!" Kendra shouted again and stared at him angrily.
Lendon frowned and looked bad.
"Do it! I bet you also want to see me suffer!" Kendra was controlling her tears not to slip down.
Lendon glared at her. Soon, he suddenly felt uncomfortable, loosened his hands to her arm, and rubbed his belly as sharp pain attacked him.
"Don't you dare to kill or beat me! Remember, I'm a law student from Harvard school. I can sue you anytime, you'd better be careful. I will make you pay for any physical damage." Kendra somehow got furious, eager to fight against him, and kept shouting.
Lendon looked pale and suddenly fell down. Kendra was shocked. She looked down at him and saw him curled his body on the floor. Tiny beads of sweat streamed on his forehead while he held his belly.
"Help…. Help …. me," He uttered faintly.
"Don't try to fool me. I didn't even touch you!" Kendra kicked Lendon instead. How could he act like this after trying to hurt her?
Lendon was in so much pain that he couldn't speak anymore. His forehead was all wet, and the pain was unbearable.
Kendra finally realized something was wrong and squatted down, " Lendon, don't scare me. I didn't harm you. Hey, what's going on with you? Are... Are you okay?" What happened to him? Kendra felt nervous and don't know what to do.
"Pain…" Lendon murmured, eyes were closed.
What the hell! How could he become like this?
Kendra ran out and shouted, "Curtis! Curtis, please help Lendon! Come here!"
Hearing Kendra's loud voice, Curtis came in a rush.
"What happened, Miss Miller?"
"Curtis, let's bring Lendon to the hospital. He… he is in my room, suffering severe stomach pain," She stammered.
"Quickly. Tell the driver to prepare the car!" Curtis ordered and went straight to Kendra's room. Kendra came down and was waiting for Curtis to carry Lendon out.
Soon, Lendon was sent to the hospital, and the Doctor immediately attended to him. The clock was ticking, and Kendra was worried.
She sat down on a bench outside the operating room and lowered her head, feeling so guilty. Curtis asked her where did she and Lendon have dinner. She told him everything.
"Miss Miller, why did you take Mr. Martin to that small restaurant?" Curtis said after a while.
"I'm sorry, Curtis, I didn't know he was so sensitive. I also tasted those sandwiches." Kendra said vaguely. She didn't know Lendon will suffer a severe stomach ache. He got acute gastroenteritis because of the sandwich he ate earlier.
"Miss Miller, next time, be careful. He is different from us. He is a duke. Since he was born, everything he ate and used has undergone the proper test. Besides, if he gets sick, the palace may know." Curtis looked at her calmly; however, his voice was full of warning.
"Really?" She raised her head, looking at Curtis sadly. She didn't know it would be so serious.
"You know, Mr. Martin has never gone to hospital before. He has his own personal Doctor. There are things that I can't share with you right now. Only I can remind you that few people know he carried wolf poison for the past years. We need to keep it a secret. He lived alone, away from the palace, as Alexis was still searching for his cure. I hope you won't tell other people about this matter," Curtis said sadly.
"I am so sorry, Curtis. It's my fault." Quickly she stood up and bowed in front of him, and apologized.
"Never mind. I hope Mr. Martin will recover soon. We have locked his hospital down to hide this sudden problem. Since this has occurred at night time, I think journalists won't know it right away."
Kendra now understood what Lendon got and had to face. He must have many enemies. That was why Alexis was the only Doctor who helped him cure his poison.
An hour later, Lendon was moved to a VIP ward. As he opened his eyes, he saw Kendra sitting next to him and staring at him sadly.
"You scared me," Lendon was terrified and said subconsciously.
"You wake up, Mr. Martin! How do you feel? Are you hungry? If you need anything, just tell me." She welcomed him with a great smile.
Lendon stared at Kendra for a while and snorted. "What are you up to?"
"Nothing. I will be here to take care of you," Kendra ignored his rude behavior.
"No, you are lying." Lendon turned his face away.
Kendra felt so speechless. She just wanted to make up with him. Why did Lendon act so defensively?
"What do you want to do now? I can help you." Kendra calmly said, reminding herself he is sick.
"I need to pee." He returned his gaze at her.
"What?" Kendra asked shockingly.
"I said I need to pee." Lendon stared at Kendra and said vaguely.
"Um, I can't help you with that." She felt awkward and blushed.
"C'mon, I really need to pee,"
Kendra doesn't say any words. Lendon smiled and got up. Kendra helped him walk to the bathroom and loosened her hand.
"What are you doing?" Lendon looked at her, wearing a serious expression.
"I will wait for you here." Kendra smiled calmly, but her voice was threatening.
"Don't be shy. You've seen it before. Why are you still acting like a virgin? You're my woman," Lendon teased her.
"I shouldn't have offered to stay beside you and take care of you," She murmured.
What the hell? She didn't want to see his naked body at all! Kendra felt uncomfortable.
"Just do it," Lendon ordered.
"Can I say no?" She stepped back, looking at him gloomily.
"Do you think you can?" Lendon raised his eyebrows, trying to control his laugh.
This arrogant beast got into her nerves. Kendra sighed helplessly. Fine, she would just close her eyes.
Kendra walked into the bathroom with him. She immediately turned her back on him. She felt so embarrassed when she heard the noise.
"Okay," Lendon said after a while and held Kendra's shoulder.
"You are too heavy. Stand up properly so I could fix your trousers!" Kendra complained.
"Am I too heavy? But what about those nights, I was on top with you," Lendon reminded her of their intimate moments.
"Whatever! Quickly, cooperate with me," Kendra forced a smile and helped him go to bed again. She felt so tired and knew that he did it on purpose. But wait, why can't she just refuse him?
When Kendra looked at Lendon, she saw him rubbing his lips, ambivalent and staring at her. He was seducing her!
"I need to ask the doctor about your condition," Kendra gathered enough courage and looked away.
As Kendra wanted to leave, Lendon grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms.
"Don't go. Sleep here tonight, besides my bed," Lendon gently begged her.
"What? You aren't a baby at all," She was shocked by his order. She was on his chest, and she could hear his rapid heartbeat.
"Just sleep! What are you thinking about? I have no plan to touch you. I am not a beast to do it in this kind of room," Lendon pinched Kendra's cheek. Her cheeks dyed pink.
Anyway, Lendon couldn't do anything to her.
Kendra smiled and said, "Okay." She took her shoes off and lay beside Lendon, closing her eyes.
Lendon held Kendra so tightly. Kendra opened her eyes and could clearly feel Lendon breath. Her heartbeats quickened.
"Lendon," Kendra called carefully.
"What?" Lendon asked her, eyes closed.
Damn! Why did his voice sound so sexy? Kendra blushed again, "Can you stop beating people?"
"What?!" He opened his eyes widely, stared at her intently.
But this time, his tone changed.
