Chapter 51: The Necklace
She let out a soft moan, and it ignited Lendon's desire. Tonight, Lendon couldn't stop asking for more while gradually tasting every inch of her body. They made love passionately the whole night.
The following day, Kendra woke up in a soft bed. Lendon must take her here last night after everything was finished.
Kendra got up and heard Lendon showering in the bathroom. She walked to the balcony and looked out. The view was great, and it gave her the feeling of unexplainable happiness.
Soon, Lendon walked out of the bathroom with a towel on. His hair was still wet. He looked around and found Kendra stretching her arms on the balcony and taking deep breaths. Somehow, Lendon walked to Kendra slowly and held her waist from behind.
Kendra was surprised by this sudden hug and got stiff.
"I can't find that smell again." Lendon took a deep breath greedily and whispered.
"I don't know what the smell you're talking about and can't tell my own smell as well." Kendra turned around and looked at him thoughtfully.
"I can because I am a wolf." Lendon kissed Kendra's cheek and buried his face on her chest.
"How did you get this poison?" Kendra suddenly asked.
Hearing Kendra's question, Lendon thought for a while and let Kendra go. Then, he walked back to the bedroom then drying his hair.
"Why don't you tell me?" Kendra followed Lendon, looked at him, and asked curiously.
"There is nothing to say," Lendon said coldly and called Curtis to deliver some breakfast for them.
When Curtis arrived, Kendra and Lendon had dressed up. They went back to the table last night and had breakfast.
"Sir, everything is prepared." Curtis poured a glass of milk for Lendon and said.
Lendon nodded and said nothing.
After breakfast, they left the villa. Kendra thought they would go back to the castle, but the car drove a different way.
"Where are we going now? This is not the way to the castle," Kendra looked out and returned her gaze to Lendon.
"We are going to the Martin Group now," Curtis explained.
Kendra nodded. She thought the driver needed to take Lendon to his office first before taking her back to the castle.
Lendon held Kendra's hand and stared at Kendra's chest.
Kendra felt strange and moved her body naturally. However, Lendon didn't like her reaction. So he pulled her back and rubbed her chest.
"What are you doing?" Kendra whispered cautiously, ashamed that Curtis and the driver would notice them.
"You are still afraid?" Lendon raised his eyebrows and asked. They just slept together last night, and Kendra was still trying to refuse him.
Kendra covered her chest and happened to touch her necklace. She smiled and said, "It's beautiful." This necklace looked like a heart with a blue stone at the bottom of it. It was simple but elegant.
"Of course, I chose it myself. Lendon said arrogantly.
"I hope it is not expensive," Kendra said.
"Yes, just two million," Lendon said casually.
Kendra was shocked. Two million for a necklace! She lowered her head to look at the necklace. She had already owed Lendon 20 million. How could she afford 2 million more?
"I realize this is so expensive. I should give it back now." Kendra quickly said and wanted to remove the necklace.
Lendon glared at Kendra and grabbed her arm. "If you dare to remove it, I will punish you." He threatened her.
"But…" It was two million. Surely, it will be added to her debt. Kendra took a deep breath and asked, "Is this a gift?"
"Or what?" Lendon rolled his eyes and looking annoyed.
How could she afford such a luxury gift? Besides, they just quarreled days before. So why did Lendon suddenly change? Kendra felt strange. What was Lendon up to this time?
When they arrived at Martin Group, Lendon got off first and waved his hand to Kendra. "Get off." He ordered.
"What?" Kendra asked.
"Get off," Lendon repeated patiently.
"Why? I want to go back to the castle." Kendra said instead.
"From now on, you need to stay with me. Wherever I go, you follow me." Lendon said and pulled Kendra out of the car directly.
Kendra couldn't do anything to stop Lendon. She was pulled into the building quickly.
As they walked in, all the staff stared at them unbelievably. Gossip started immediately.
"Did you guys see? Mr. Martin takes that girl back!"
"You know what? I noticed this girl was familiar last time, so I searched for her. Guess what I found. She is a mistress!"
"What? Seriously?"
"You bet! I heard she is a Harvard student. A smart one."
"No wonder Mr. Martin takes her here."
"You can never tell who is a good girl nowadays."
Lendon dragged Kendra all the way to his office.
"Lendon, I have nothing to do here. And I'm afraid I will distract you from your job. So just let me go." Kendra kept protesting Lendon's decision with words and actions. However, Lendon ignored her at all.
Lendon pulled Kendra into his office and closed the door. Then, he finally let go. "That's your seat. You sit there when I am working." Lendon showed Kendra around and said, "That cabinet is full of snacks, and you can take a break in that room if you feel tired. The bathroom is next to the bedroom. I have to attend a meeting now. So stay here and don't leave." Lendon walked out soon and closed the door.
Kendra was alone in this big office. "Can you listen to me just once?" Kendra shouted in anger. Damn Lendon!
At that time, someone knocked on the door and came in. It was Curtis.
"Miss Miller, if you need anything, feel free to tell me," Curtis said.
"I need nothing. Just let me go." Kendra said and wanted to leave.
"Don't make it hard for me, Miss Miller. We both know that Mr. Martin won't change his mind easily." Curtis stopped Kendra immediately.
"Why does he want me here?" Kendra sighed and asked. What was Lendon planning to do the whole day with her inside this room?
"Mr. Martin didn't tell you last night?" Curtis asked curiously.
"Tell me what?" Kendra asked. Lendon was so absorbed in sex last night, and how could he have time to talk to her?
"But you accepted the necklace. You must know." Curtis looked at Kendra and said confusedly.
"What do you mean?" Kendra lowered her head to look at the necklace and asked. She was confused too.
"Mr. Martin bought this necklace in an auction with 2.8 million dollars just to give it to you," Curtis said.
"What's that?" Kendra began to panic, hearing Curtis's words.
"This necklace is called Heart of Ocean, and it means the love of life. So it is obvious why Mr. Martin bought this necklace for you." Curtis explained patiently.
Kendra rubbed the necklace and suddenly recalled what Lendon said last night. "You say yes by wearing it." When Lendon said it last night, he meant that Kendra agreed to be his forever.
"So he was expressing his love to me last night?" Kendra asked, and her face puzzled.
"Yes, Mr. Martin prepared all those romantic things last night, and he asked me many questions about how to make a woman fall in love," Curtis smiled and said.
No wonder Lendon kept asking her if she liked it or she was touched. Kendra sat down on the sofa and didn't know what to say. She was so shocked.
"Miss Miller?" Curtis called Kendra after a while, "Are you okay?"
Kendra finally snapped back to reality. She looked at Curtis and asked excitedly, "Did he fall in love with me?"
"Isn't it obvious enough?" Curtis asked. If Mr. Martin didn't like Miss Miller, why did he prepare a surprise for her? Why did he still care if she was hurt when he was so pissed off? Besides, Curtis knew that Lendon hadn't touched other women after he met Kendra.
After Kendra finally realized what happened, she felt so uncomfortable. How would Lendon have a crush on her?
"Aren't you happy, Miss Miller?" Curtis noticed Kendra's absence and asked, "Is it not good news for you?"
"Why is it good news?" Kendra was still confused.
"Though Mr. Martin has a bad temper, he was honored as the most popular bachelor in the world. He is richer than most people. Besides, he had a noble status. Most women wanted to be his wife," Curtis said. As he saw it, Lendon was perfect except for his bad temper.
However, to Kendra, it was ridiculous. "But he didn't ask if I liked him." She pouted her lips.
"But you accepted his necklace." Curtis smiled again.
Fine, this necklace was the key. Kendra removed the necklace and walked out.
"Miss Miller, where are you going? Mr. Martin said you couldn't leave." Curtis followed Kendra and asked.
"Where is your boss?" Kendra went to the office of Lendon's secretaries and asked.
"He is in the meeting room at the end of the corridor." A male secretary answered. He knew Kendra was important to Lendon, so he didn't lie.
Kendra ran to the meeting room immediately.
Curtis glared at the secretary and also ran after Kendra.
Through the glass door, Kendra saw Lendon sitting there and listening to someone's report. She didn't walk in immediately because she somehow felt a little scared.
"Miss Miller, you can't go in." Curtis frowned and said seriously, "Mr. Martin is not free now. You'd better wait for him to come out."
"I..."
"Kendra." Lendon noticed Kendra and called her name as Kendra tried to say something. His voice sounded deterrent.
