Chapter 57: Do You Want Revenge?

The driver quickly nodded. Kendra felt relieved. Luckily, Lendon agreed to return to the castle. If he insisted on getting off, she didn't know what to do.
However, as they wanted to leave, Michael's parents noticed them.
William and Jane walked to them with some bodyguards and stood outside the car respectfully.
Lendon smiled and raised his eyebrows. "See? We can't leave now." He said and opened the car door.
Kendra suddenly felt a headache. She was so nervous.
"Mr. Martin, we didn't expect you to come. Please forgive us for not noticing you immediately." William bowed to Lendon and fluttered. Indeed, in front of Lendon, anyone would feel humble. But, even if he was the head of the Baker family, he had to be careful.
Lendon glanced at William and nodded in response. Then, he stretched his hand out and said, "Come out."
Kendra looked at him and shook her head.
"Come out," Lendon repeated.
Everyone looked into the car curiously, including William and Jane.
Kendra had no choice. She took a deep breath and got off.
Lendon grabbed Kendra's hand and held her waist with a big smile. Then, he lowered his head and whispered, "Since we are here, you have to be confident. Even if we don't make any trouble, you need to show them that you are fine now."
Lendon was so thoughtful. Kendra had to admit that she was touched. Her eyes turned red, and Kendra made up her mind to face her family.
As Kendra got off, all journalists took pictures of her excitedly.
Some bodyguards led Kendra and Lendon into the hotel.
"Is she..." Jane looked at Kendra and murmured. It was Kendra! How would she be here with Lendon Martin?
"What's up?" William asked. He noticed that Jane suddenly got nervous.
"Nothing." Jane smiled and said. She investigated Kendra before, so she knew how Kendra looked like, but William didn't know the whole thing. So she had to keep it a secret.
"We should go back. Guests are almost all here." Jane slung her arm around her husband's waist.
"Let's go." William nodded and led his wife to the party hall.
Kendra walked into an elevator and felt so nervous.
"Why are you so nervous?" Lendon gazed at her. He saw Kendra's face turning pale.
"Lendon, promise me that you will behave yourself." Kendra stared at Lendon and said worriedly.
"Why? Are you afraid I will make a scene?" Lendon raised his eyebrow. He came here to make some noise.
"Please," Kendra begged. If this party will not be successful, Robert would definitely blame her.
Lendon glanced at Kendra impatiently. It was the first time that Kendra begged him for something. "You are really a coward." He gently pinched her cheek.
"Please." Kendra grabbed Lendon's arm and begged again.
"Okay, fine. I will grant your request," Lendon said unwillingly, "If it were not you, I wouldn't have come here." He was a duke, and few people had the honor to invite him to an engagement party.
"Thank you, Lendon," Kendra smiled and said sincerely.
"I should have asked for more last time. Alexis is so useless. How could he conclude that I need to wait for a month before I can have sex with you again." Lendon pinched Kendra's cheek and whispered.
Kendra lowered her head and felt guilty. Lendon didn't know about pills Alexis had created to cure him. If he knew, he must torture her every night.
Soon, the elevator stopped. When the door opened, Kendra saw a long red carpet leading straight to the banquet hall. There were many flowers laid on each side of the carpet. The banquet hall was huge and luxurious. The festive atmosphere can be seen. Everyone looks so happy.
Kendra walked out of the elevator with Lendon nervously.
There was a photo of Bianca and Michael at the entrance of the hall.
"It looks ugly." Lendon sneered as they passed by the photo.
Kendra was speechless. Indeed, this man was so arrogant.
"You are much prettier than her." Lendon looked at her and said seriously.
Kendra thought Lendon must have bad taste. Since childhood, everyone said Bianca was prettier than her, including Robert.
"I feel pity for this ugly couple." Lendon sighed and walked into the hall with Kendra.
"Oh my god! Is that Lendon Martin?"
"What a big surprise? No one guessed that Mr. Martin would attend this engagement party,"
"He even looked so dignified and handsome up close."
"I want to divorce my husband."
Surely, when people saw Lendon showing up, women began to chatter loudly.
Kendra hid behind Lendon and tried to keep a low profile. She doesn't want to be hated by them.
"Why are you hiding?" Lendon whispered at her and tightly hugged her waist as they walked to the long carpet.
"We are not the focus today. Can you keep a low profile?" She murmured faintly.
"Blame me for being too attractive!" Lendon replied, "You own me. Why are you seem so afraid? Just walk straight." He held Kendra's waist and forced her to look ahead.
"Okay, I can walk on my own. Don't be so clingy," Kendra said.
"I want to hold you." Lendon ignored her complaint.
When they walked to the guests' area, several people wanted to chat with Lendon.
"Mr. Martin, it's a surprise to meet you here."
"Yes, it's an honor to be here with you."
They all held a glass of wine and wanted to propose a toast. But Lendon ignored them and walked away directly.
"They will feel embarrassed." Kendra looked back and said.
"If I drink with them, I need to go to the hospital later," Lendon said casually.
Of course, a duke like Lendon didn't need to care about other people's feelings.
Lendon took a glass of wine and looked around, smiling strangely.
"Kendra," Lendon said.
"What?"
"Do you want revenge?"
"What do you want to do?"
"Follow me." Lendon held Kendra's waist and walked to the left side of the stage.
Kendra didn't know what Lendon wanted to do at the beginning. But when she saw Robert, she halted her pace.
"What's wrong?" Lendon noticed her hesitation.
"I don't want to see him," Kendra said. She was not ready to face Robert.
"Be brave," Lendon said and forced Kendra to walk.
Robert noticed Lendon soon and walked toward him immediately. "Mr. Martin, it's an honor to have you here." He smiled and didn't notice Kendra as she dropped her head.
"I just passed by, and I thought it might be interesting to attend a party full of new money." Lendon smiled and said.
Kendra lowered her head and felt worried. What did Lendon say? Did he want to humiliate Robert?
Robert smiled embarrassingly and said nothing. But he did feel offended. To Lendon, everyone here was rabble. He was born to be a duke, and how could he respect them?
"Mr. Martin, we have a VIP room. The party will begin later. Do you want to take a break first?" Robert said politely. He didn't notice Kendra was Lendon's partner at all.
"Okay, but..." Lendon looked at Kendra and pinched her waist suddenly.
Kendra glared at him immediately.
"Do you want to go with me, honey?" Lendon smiled and asked.
As Kendra raised her head up, Robert finally saw her. His face turned pale right away. Why did Kendra come here together with Lendon?
Kendra felt awkward and said nothing.
"It seems that my darling doesn't want to take a break. We will just walk around." Lendon smiled.
"It's up to you, Mr. Martin." Robert glared at Kendra and said. He found an excuse and left soon.
Looking at Robert back, Kendra felt funny. In front of Lendon a while ago, he looked pale and wanted to run away. She remembered Robert was so brave when he forced her to sign the agreement that day. Sometimes people just bullied weaker ones and avoided stronger ones.
"Is he your father?" Lendon's eyes followed Robert fading back, wearing a disdainful look, and he turned his gaze to Kendra.
"You promised that you wouldn't make any trouble." Kendra reminded him immediately.
"Was I making trouble?" Lendon asked. He just mocked Robert.
"Lendon, please. Stop." Kendra felt tired and said. She should have found Lendon's plan earlier. What should she do now?
"What if I say no?" Lendon's voice came like thunder.
Hearing him, all her energy was worn out. She should just stay in the car.
"Sir." Curtis suddenly appeared and whispered to Lendon.
"Stay here." Lendon glanced at Kendra and ordered. Then, he walked away with Curtis.
Kendra felt relieved and rubbed her forehead.
The party began, and more guests came.
Somehow, many women surrounded Kendra and talked loudly.
"How strange! Why can she be Mr. Martin's lover? She is not so pretty."
"Maybe Mr. Martin just wants to try a new lover with a low status,"
Kendra didn't want to listen to them, so she turned around and walked away. However, she saw another disturbing woman soon.
"Kendra? Is that you?" Marga's sister, Lucy, striding towards her.
"Aunt." Kendra nodded and greeted Lucy politely.
"Don't call me aunt." Lucy shook her head and said, "I heard that you are not a Miller now. We don't have a relationship at all,"
Kendra said nothing. Since childhood, Lucy has despised her. What was worse, Lucy slapped her or mocked her frequently.
