Chapter 52

“Here,” Lenore passed Jasmine and Cara cups filled with Ginseng tea.They didn’t hesitate this time around before they gulped it.Jasmine put back the cup on the wooden table and looked up at Lenore who had her arms crossed.
“Your highness,your questions?” Lenore asked.
“I...Umm...I just wanted to know if my husband is in his right mind, everything is just not like the way it was and I pondered on it every time that I had to be chased in my dreams also,”Jasmine said while staring at the wooden table. She herself couldn’t believe her actions right now.
“Well, he isn’t...at least not anymore,” Lenore said while she found her way to an empty seat. “What do you mean by that?”Jasmine asked a little confused by what Lenore is saying.
“What you had before was just a little crisis that happens in marriage, doubts and suspicion but now you have a bigger problem at hand” Lenore said. Jasmine was getting impatient with Lenore’s elocution as she taps her hand on the wooden table anxiously.
“What might that be”Jasmine asked.
“A lot of people is trying to bring you two down and I’m sorry to break it to you Your highness,they will be successful” Lenore said with a serene expression on her face like as if she had not just declared the end of both her and her husband.
“What!”Jasmine yelled with fear evident in her honey brown eyes.
“How could a lowly witch spout that to her highness,you could have your tongue cut for this” Cara said knowing fully well that wouldn’t happen because their little trip here was to be a secret.
“I’m sorry if I scared you your highness, but you need to be prepared in order to know your enemies and be strong to face them” Lenore said, while her expression remains unchanged. Jasmine gazed at Lenore for a while, she was completely speechless.
“But...how do I get to win”Jasmine managed to say.
“You will know with time your highness but right now, you need to take your leave” Lenore said. “But...” Cara was about to talk but was interrupted by Jasmine’s voice.
“Let’s go”Jasmine said with a quiet voice that could hardly be heard by someone five feet away.

“Okay your highness” Cara replied and trailed behind Jasmine who took slow steps towards the door.
“Remember your highness,you need to braze yourself against whatever comes your way* Jasmine heard Lenore said but didn’t turn back. She hates that she stooped so low because of her doubts.
The drive to the mansion was quiet as Cara didn’t want to disturb Jasmine because of how upset she seemed. Cara constantly looked in the rear view mirror to check how Jasmine was faring. When they drove into the compound, they sight many guards standing outside the mansion. Jasmine saw Matt along with Rose and Becca. Jasmine could see how much angry Matt was with the way he stood. His fists were clenched and his thick brows were furrowed.Rose and Becca stared at Jasmine’s car with a smirk on their face. Jasmine’s heart leapt up as she wondered if they found out about her little trip to tree pack.
She didn’t wait for Cara to come open the door for her before she opens it and got out. She only stood rigid while pondering on walking towards them. Just then, she saw Rose taking long strides towards where she stood. Before she could think of the situation, she felt a hot slap land on her left cheek.
“What...” Cara said but was interrupted by guards who grabbed her hands.
“You vile being” Rose said with distaste as she faked a angry look. Jasmine’s face flared up with anger as she recompose herself.
“What do you think you just did” She said with anger evident in her voice.
“How about you come in and explain your little trip to the king and the audience who await your explanation” Rose said and snort before walking back to where Matt stood. Jasmine watches as Matt looked at her with distaste and anger.She saw guards walking towards her and instantly grab her arms.
“What...What are you doing” Jasmine said but the guards didn’t care to answer.
“Let’s go of me”Jasmine struggled but she was dragged into the mansion to stand in front of Matt.
“Matt, what is going on?” Jasmine asked as she was confused. She had never seen Matt look at her the way he looked at her at this moment, it was pure hatred.
“Care to explain this my Queen” Matt said with sarcasm evident in his voice. He brought out his phone and turned the screen to face Jasmine. Jasmine stared as she realizes it was her picture when she had gone to Tree pack. Surprisingly to her, her pictures had been token the first time she had gone too. She opened her mouth but she wasn't able to utter any coherent words.

“Speechless huh” Rose said with her brows arched up. “I can explain Matt”Jasmine said while on her knees.
“Oh yes, explain it...how you have deceived the King all these years and tagging me as the enemy, oh sister, you need not pretend any longer as your secrets are all exposed” Rose said before anyone else could talk. She didn’t want to give Jasmine any chance to say anything. Matt only sighs and turns his back on Jasmine.
“Guards,take her to the dungeon” Matt said and without any other word,he left Jasmine with teary eyes.
“No,no,no...Matt...Matt...Matt”Jasmine yelled after Matt who didn’t spare her a glance.
“I told you sister, you can never win, you will lose to me every single time” Rose whispers to Jasmine and smirks. Jasmine only stared in realization. If only she had listened to Cara, she will not fall into this predicament.
Jasmine was thrown into the dungeon along with Cara who begins to weep.
“Your highness, this is all my fault, I should have warned you when I had the chance to” Cara said amidst tears.
“No it’s not, you did tried to warn me, I was the one who refused to listen, I should have listened to you”Jasmine said while she pats Cara on the back.
Deep down,she felt like screaming and crying her eyes out but she wouldn’t. She planned on following Lenore’s words, she needs to be strong to fight her battles.
