Chapter 92

On Rose’s side,the night ended pretty well.She had been transferred to sleep in the queen’s room but since the night was their wedding,she was permitted to sleep in Matt’s room.Everything was going well until Matt suddenly woke up in the middle of the night.

“You”Matt said with total distaste evident in his voice as he rose up from the bed.Rose was confused and she moved closer to him but before she could grasp what was going on,Matt pounced on her,wrapping his grip around her neck firmly,squeezing it so she wouldn’t be able to breath.

“How did you get in here,where’s Jasmine”Matt said which made Rose more shocked.She struggled to let his grip off her neck but it was to no avail.She could hardly breath now and her visions were getting blurry.Just then,Matt’s facial expression changed into someone in love.He saw Rose struggling to breath as she gasp for air.

“Are you okay Love”Matt said while helping her sit up like he had no idea of what just happened.Rose looks at him for a while,completely puzzled.Soon enough,she realized it was the bewitchment fading off.

“I’m fine”she whispered.She had no intention of whispering but her voice couldn’t go more louder with how Matt had squeezed her throat.

“Was it a nightmare”Matt said while he still had a worried look on.

“Yes it is”Rose said.It would truly be a nightmare if the bewitchment suddenly wear off in front of others just like it did to her in the past minutes.Matt draws her closer to him and drops a kiss on her forehead.

“It’s just a dream okay”Matt assured her while caressing her cheek.Rose nods and hugs him tightly.The words had truly assuring her as she couldn’t imagine it ever wearing off and she giving up the position she was in again.

Moments later,they both drift back to sleep.When the morning sun ray shun into the room,Matt had woken up first and drops a kiss on Rose’s forehead before heading off to his study.He had somethings to sort out and they couldn’t be left to work on later.

After Rose woke up,she finds herself alone in bed and her heart thumps in fear.She begins to think about the possibility of Matt coming back to his sense and then proceed to humiliating her like he had did seven years ago.She quickly stands up,just as she was about to open the door,she heard a knock and since she was right before the door,she opens it.It was Lydia,she Rose of the first duty as the queen and that was to wake up as early as possible and prepare for breakfast.Rose strolls around the wide spaced room that was situated for the queen.She was amazed to see how expensively Jasmine had lived when she was struggling to stay even in motels.The maids took her to the bath and just like they did on her wedding day,they got her dressed in a green sundress with her hair packed in a ponytail.

Afterwards,she climbed down the stairs to join Matt and the children for breakfast.Since she hadd as her doubts about Matt,she couldn’t eat with peace.She had different thoughts occupied her mind so she had less time for making Jasmine’s children life hell since she had her own hell now she needs to keep safe.

“Is something the matter love”Matt had asked when he notices how uncomfortable Rose seemed.

“It’s nothing,since it’s my first day as the queen,I’m just a little nervous”Rose let out a sheepish laugh which made Karl’s stomach twist.Though he kept his gaze cool,but the anger in him could blow down a building.After they were done eating,Rose quickly excused herself to her room and ordered Lydia to leave her alone in the room.When she sees she had left,she brought out her phone and go through her call list to pick out a hidden number.She dialed it and she picks up on the third ring.

“What”the voice came out as a little shout which settled Rose.

“Relax witch,I need to talk to you”Rose said and the other caller stayed quiet for a while before answering.

“What is it”The voice came out as a little shout again which made Rose wondering who must have upsetted her.

“It’s about the spell”Rose said very quietly than she had said before.

“I think there’s something wrong with it”Rose continued.

“Let’s meet up then”The woman said and was about to end the call when Rose quickly tell her to wait.

“I can’t go out now,my movements are restricted and so many people are suspicious of me and they would do anything to dig dirts on me,you know that”Rose whisper shouted.

“I don’t”the woman replied dryly and continues “I will come see you”with that said,the woman ends the call instantly which made Rose’s brows furrowed.She wasn’t okay with the way the woman communicated as she felt it was a total disrespect to the crown and herself but she couldn’t caution her since she was in need of her help.

Rose felt restless as she paces around her room.She had been biting into her nails anxiously without her realizing until her teeth dug on a little part of skin around her nails which bled out.Just as she begins to care for her bleeding hand,she saw someone suddenly appear in front of her which made her lose balance and she fell to the ground.She heaves a sigh of relief as she sees it was a familiar face.

“You shouldn’t appear in front of a person in that manner,it could have had my heart stopping in seconds”Rose said and gets up back to her feet.

“Why do you want me over”the woman said.Rose looks at her with a neutral look.The strangest thing is that she doesn’t know who truly the woman was or where she comes from but all she knows is her name,she had only told Rose her name which was Mina,nothing more.
