Chapter 83

Jace had headed straight to his room after Jasmine excused herself.He had his fists clenched and his brows furrowed as he took long strides towards his room.He pushes the door open with force that made Mina know something is definitely wrong.She watches him walk in and head towards her and without warning,he wraps his hand to her throat firmly,choking her.Mina’s eyes wildens in shock as she struggles to get Jace’s hands off her throat.

“I told you to behave,didn’t I”Jace said while still held on to her throat.Instead of feeling a little pity,it excites him more with the way she struggled to live.

“P-l-ea-s-e….”Mina managed to say.She already had tears breaming the corner of her eyes as her face were all pink with the restraint of air.Soon after,Jace let go of her and Mina fell to the ground,gasping for air.Jace went over the usual place he kept his wine and picked his taste for the evening.He pours it inside a wine glass and gulps down all the content immediately.Mina still had her eyes on the ground as tears fell to the floor.She kept panting and sniffing which annoyed Jace more.

“Drop your little act Mina,unless you want to end up dead before the night comes”Jace threatened and did all she could to keep her breathing low as much as possible.She kept her gaze on the floor until she sights Jace’s legs standing firmly at her front.She didn’t bother looking up as she was so hurt by what he did to her.Not because of the physical pain but because of the feeling of rejection he always made her feel.Jace bends slowly until he reaches the height level of how Mina crawled on the floor.He brought up her chin so she could face him and begins to run his fingers through her face.He first laid his fingers on her forehead,tracing them down to her eyes,then afterwards,her cheeks and afterwards her rosy thin lips.They both stared into each other’s eyes which could make a stranger misunderstands them to be a couple very much in love.Mina knew it was his wolf caressing her face,not him.All it ever wanted was for Mina to always satisfy them sexually,nothing else attached.

“Don’t play games with me Mina,I might not know all of your movements but I know every little things you have planning in your thick skull” Jace said and soon after left Mina completely broken in the room.She stayed sprawled on the floor as she recalls what transpired between her and Jace several times with her fists clenched.

“It’s all because of her” Mina said quietly to herself and her thoughts drifts back to when she had seen Jasmine.She regrets at once of not taking advantage of the time and killing her instantly but she doesn’t want to upset Jace either.She wants Jace to think of her as harmless and kind hearted so she wouldn’t cross the line.

When Jace left the room,he had headed to his study. He pushes the door open and slams it behind him after he had gotten in.He makes his way to a seat and sits,he brought out his phone to make a call.He dialed Lydia’s number and she picks up on the second ring.

“Alpha…”Lydia said from the other end of the phone.
She was surprised to have him call her in that time of the day when they had talked about calls only at night but she dared not question him.

“How is it”Jace said straightforwardly as he had always does.Lydia wasn’t surprised as she had never had the affection of her loving brother,it would have been sounded weird to her if he asked of how she had been.

“The new to-be queen is playing out the best part than I had ever imagined,not to worry Alpha,I will get the work done soon enough”Lydia said with a devilish smile formed on her lips.

“Good”Jace said also with a devilish smile on as he was satisfied with what he heard.Jace suddenly thought of something and hesitates before bringing himself to talk.

“Try not to get yourself caught”Jace said like a caring brother which melted Lydia’s heart.He had only said that to make her get a glimpse of what she wanted from him so as to hasten her mission.He wouldn’t want her betraying on him when they had come so far.Lydia,on the other hand,was surprised and at the same time happy to hear her brother say that to her.

“I won’t”Lydia said and Jace hangs up,he had no time for a brotherly sisterly moment.When he brought the phone away from his ear,he brought it into his sight and a number he had deliberately ignored appeared on his screen.He figured it had mistakenly been pressed from the contact of his ear to his phone.He had no use for the woman anymore and sees no reason to have any more conversations with her as he loathes her company anyways.But still,he had the intention of keeping his promise of the money and also he needed Maria’s lips forever sealed.

He dialed the number and it was unavailable.He called it several times more as his face flare up.His instincts told him something was definitely wrong and he needed to have someone check up on her,not that he cared but he needed to make sure his secrets are safe.
He suspects Maria had betrayed him and that made him growl silently like an unfed beast.His brows bowed in a frown as he thinks of lots of things he would make her go through if she had truly betrayed him.He wouldn’t let anyone who betrays him ever go unscathed.
