Chapter 79

All the councilors had met at Lord Bernerd’s house to discuss about the day that will be suitable for the wedding.After much arguing and blasting,they decided on the next coming week because Matt had informed them to make it soon.One of them made a call to the mansion to inform Matt of their decision and Matt told Rose about it which excited her more.She immediately inform Lydia to make a call to each of the ladies-in-waiting houses to come in for a meeting that day.Rose had already chosen Lydia as one of her maids when they asked her to chose three maids to serve her at all times.

“Hello Mrs Lenner,the soon to-be queen called for a meeting today and she would like you to come in in the next two hours”Lydia said for the fifth time that morning,changing the surnames only as she talked with all the ladies-in-waiting.She had chosen Leila as the last person to call because she had thought Leila will be the most difficult to talk with.

“Inform your fucker of a queen to not wait for my appearance to make a decision on her scum of a wedding”Leila shouts at the other end of the call and ends the call without waiting for Lydia to respond.Lydia’s fists clenched as she felt insulted to be shouted on in that manner.She lets out a calming sigh and form a smile on her lips as always expected of a maid.She walks over to where Rose stood ordering maids around to change the settings of the living room to her taste as Matt had given her the permission to do it.

“Mrs Lenner said she won’t be coming because she came up with an illness last night and she said she’s very sorry for not going to be present”Lydia lied and Rose scoffs.She knew well it is all a lie as she had predicted Leila not to be attending.

“It’s better to have her absent than having to deal with her madness”Rose said almost to herself but it was for Lydia to hear.Lydia pretends to be in agreement and nods.

After two hours,the ladies-in-waiting begins to arrive one after the other.All of them stares in amazement as they see a lot of changes in the living room.They watches with their eyes wildened as the maids moves things around in the room.They knew well Jasmine had dared not do that just for the sake of being the queen.They hesitantly walk towards the conference room and takes their seats.

“I had thought Leila is just being ridiculous when she had talked about the to-be queen to be crazy”Aya said quietly to Serena who had taken a seat beside her.

“Absolutely”Serena agreed while nodding.

“Jasmine must be so devastated about what is going on,I hate myself to have believed she did what she was accused of”Maya said and others in the room looks at her.

“Quiet silly,you could have yourself ruin for backing Jasmine the bewitcher”Aya cautioned.She had nicknamed Jasmine that after they had of what happened.

“‘Jasmine the bewitcher’ you shouldn’t utter such nonsense Aya”Rose said with a serious face.Everybody else nods in agreement as they looked at Aya.

“Okay,okay,my bad”Aya said apologetically.

Just then,Rose strode into the room with Lydia tagging behind her.They all look at her as she proudly walks over to have her seat on the seat that once belonged to Jasmine and Lydia stood right beside her.If it was Jasmine normally,they would have been on their foot to greet her but none of them likes Rose’s attitude to back her up.

“Ladies,welcome”Rose said with a smile and it died down when she sees the glares she was getting.She stayed quiet for a while to gaze at them each.

“Why the strong faces ladies,I called you in to share a good news”Rose said slowly and louder than she usually talks.

“It’s nothing your highness”Serena said and glances at everyone to behave.

“Good,Mrs Lenner had informed me that she came up with an illness,please if one of you could do me the favor of checking up on her after the meeting,it will be very much appreciated”Rose said politely that surprises Aya who had talked behind her before.It made her reconsider the decision of not flowing well with Rose.

“I shall do that”Aya said and that made the other ladies glance at her.They weren’t very surprised as they know Aya changes her mind on things easily.

‘Hypocrite’Rose,the lady-in-waiting thought inwardly as she sat with her gaze facing Maya who sat opposite her.

“Thank you Aya,after that being said,we should commence the meeting then”Rose said.

“The councils have come to the decision of making the 5th day to the full moon festival the day we shall have the wedding”Rose said and it reminded them all of what they had been planning with Jasmine for the full moon festival.

“It’s really exciting to have grand ceremonies so near,we have a lot to prepare then”Aya said while beaming.

“Yes we do, I’m not sure who chooses the dresses but I think Aya will have a keen eyes for fashion,isn’t it”Rose said while eyeing Aya’s choice of outfit for the day.Normally,Maya had been the one to always chose dresses but since Rose didn’t care enough to ask,Maya kept quiet as she fumes inwardly.

“But Maya usually do that”Aya quickly say as she doesn’t want to upset Maya or the other ladies in the room.

“Oh really,I’m sorry for not asking first”Rose said and Maya smiles sheepishly.

“Please do me the honor of finding a good seamstress in making the most perfect wedding dress,I wouldn’t like to be looking like a joke in front of all the guests”Rose said while taking a smile.She hates the attitudes of the ladies-in-waiting and wishes she could just chose who she wants to make her ladies-in-waiting.Just as she thought about it,she thought she could actually do it after she had been crowned the queen.She smiles as she pictures how she will convince Matt on allowing her in doing that.
