Chapter 96

Becca hadn’t been talking to Nina after she had woken up the day she had planned to carry out some of her plans.When she had first woken up and see herself tied down,seeing she was the only one in the room,she began to shout.Nina who had heard her shouting quickly turned on the music to the highest volume so Ted wouldn’t hear.It was only till nighttime Nina came to untie her.They had had a fight which resulted in Becca bursting out in anger and hitting Nina.Thankfully,Nina had locked the door behind her before coming to untie Becca so Ted didn’t witness the unpleasant scene.Becca had later kicked Nina out,not caring Ted was watching.She had gone half mad and she in that moment could do anything to get the time reversed and she getting her mission successful.

In the present day,Nina had come knocking on Becca’s door,continuously apologizing but Becca acted like she doesn’t hear her knocking.Ted who had been in his room came out to check who had been knocking.He looked at Becca who sat on the sofa,rage evident on her face.

“Mum,why didn’t you get the door”Ted said but Becca ignores him.

“Becca,I did what I did for you”Nina said from outside and bangs the door again just like she had been doing an hour ago.When Ted heard Nina’s voice,he looks puzzled at his mother and wondered why his mother had kept Nina locked outside when he knew how close Nina and Becca was.

Suddenly,Becca sprang up and walks briskly towards the door.She opens the door for Nina and instantly goes back to take her sit back on the sofa.

“Hey Teddy,I must have settled you with the knocks,go back into your room okay,Nina and Mama needs some alone time okay”Nina said to Ted after she had come in.Ted nods and heads to his room.Nina closes the door before walking slowly towards where Becca sat and takes a sit beside her.Nina knew she had already been forgiven when Becca had come to open the door for her.Even though they had lots of arguments in the past,it doesn’t tear them apart,that is how close they are to each other.

“Why are you here”Becca said while feigning a sullen look.She hadn’t faced Nina,instead she stares at a flower pot Nina had gifted Ted when he was three,he had taken a liking to plants then.

“I know what I did last time is crazy but I did it for you Becca,I’m sorry okay,I didn’t mean to hurt you,I just wanted you to be safe”Nina pleaded while staring intently at Becca.She knows it wouldn’t take long before Becca gives in if she continued to stare at her in that manner.

“Please”Nina called on.Becca,with furrowed brows turns to face Nina who had a sad look on.

“I’m sorry”Nina said quietly while forming a puppy look.

“You ruined what I planned Nina”Becca said,still angry with what Nina did to her as she recalls how hurt she was.

“Trust me Becca,you will get to understand me pretty soon”Nina said.

“There’s nothing to understand,I wasn’t going to do anything wrong,I deserve to be in my rightful position and I just wanted to take it but thankfully to your intellect,it got all ruined”Becca said louder than she had talked before,she had said the last part sarcastically.Nina sees it will be a little hard for her to ever get to convince Becca on giving up walking into royalty, she knows her friend had been obsessed with that ever since she learned of her true identity.Becca had even once written a letter to Matt in a way that anyone would be convinced she was his lover just to cause chaos between Matt and Jasmine.

“I know that Becca…”Nina was about to talk but Becca chipped in.

“No you don’t”Becca said with her face still squeezed in a frown.

“Okay I can’t relate with that but I do know how painful it is for you,trust me Becca I feel your pain but you need to think about something else other than chasing the life she never grew in,how about the life we had together,the people you have to protect,think about Ted and the danger he will be exposed to if you engage in fighting your way unto the throne,please Becca,just think about it for a second”Nina said quietly with a pleading voice but Becca was still adamant.She knew all Nina said was right but she didn’t picture herself giving up easily,she couldn’t watch Rose win over her or think of Rose mocking her with whomever she chose to be close with now.Becca is broken with how everything turned out,if only her birth wasn’t a sin and she had been a legitimate child of her father’s just like Matt is.She envies him and how lucky he seemed to be,having being raised under the care of his real parents unlike her who had been taken in by a drunkard.

Becca hadn’t realized tears had breamed the corners of her eyes until one drop fell on her cheek.Nina saw this and moved closer to her.She hugs Becca tightly while petting her back and thinks of comforting words to say.

“I’m sorry”Nina said after thinking hard on how to comfort her.She repeated over and over again while Becca cries silently.

‘Is this the end of all have planned hard on?’

‘Will I give up the throne to continue the life I had done hard things to build?’

Becca kept thinking as she cried her eyes out while Nina didn’t stop whispering words of comfort to her.
