Chapter 94

Jasmine had woken around the afternoon feeling pretty much better than she had been the day before.She saw Cara sitting right beside her with Cara’s back facing her,doing something Jasmine couldn’t see.

“Cara”Jasmine called quietly.Cara immediately faces her with her mouth full of food.She swallowed the food and burped quietly.

“Your highness”Cara said while helping Jasmine sit up.She quickly adjusted the pillow so Jasmine could lay her back on it.

“It’s my fault you got sick,I haven’t been looking after you,I’m sorry your highness,please forgive me”Cara said with her head bowed staring at the covers.

“It’s not your fault Cara,I just got sick that’s all,it’s only natural”Jasmine said while Cara still stared at her in pity,even if Jasmine pretends to be okay,Cara knew she wasn’t.

“Get me coffee Cara”Jasmine said,totally forgetting they were in another’s dominion.Cara didn’t hesitate before heading towards the door and just then,Jasmine came back to her right senses.

“Stop”Jasmine said with urgency as she knew she was sending Cara to a place of hell.The kitchen is now dominated by Fiona and she was sure Fiona would never allowed her a drop of coffee and it would only get Cara noticed by Fiona.Jasmine wasn’t aware Cara had already caught Fiona’s attention also.

“Why your highness”Cara said.She saw nothing wrong in running errands again since her ignorance had led to Jasmine getting sick.

“Don’t worry,I’m okay”Jasmine said and Cara looked at her puzzled,wondering why Jasmine suddenly changed her mind.

“But you seem like you really needed it,I could get it for you”Cara persisted.

“No Cara,don’t mind it,I shouldn’t be demanding anymore you know,I’m not in Nighthawk remember”Jasmine said and Cara figured why she had stopped her,it was just because she doesn’t want to live the extravagant lifestyle anymore.

“But it’s okay your highness,Alpha Jace is good enough to order a maid to deliver breakfast to us personally so it wouldn’t be a problem to ask for a single steaming cup of coffee”Cara persuaded while emphasizing how hot the coffee would be,she is trying to make Jasmine feel more at ease in asking for anything she wanted even though it wasn’t their home.

“It’s not that Cara,don’t worry about me,I’m fine”Jasmine said.Cara gives up on persuading and heads over to where Jasmine’s breakfast was laid on.

“You should have breakfast”Cara said and laid the tray on Jasmine’s legs.

“Thank you”Jasmine’s voice came out more like a whisper which made Cara more worried.

“I could feed you”Cara offered while flashing Jasmine her teeth,she knows Jasmine will decline right away.Jasmine didn’t say anything,she only glanced up at her and rolled her eyes before digging into the food.

“Alpha Jace had came in the morning,he said needed to go somewhere and he will be back by night to check up on you,he has been so kind”Cara said while a smile plastered on her lips.From what she heard of Jace,she hadn’t imagined he will be so considerate of them like he had been ever since they had been there.He fed them,bought them clothes and sheltered them,Cara finds it so surprising he would do that even with the history Jasmine and Jace had.

Jasmine nods and her minds drifts off to something she had wanted to talk about with Jace.Since the full moon festival is just in four days,she needed to ask Jace of the permission to let her tag along with him.She glanced at Cara and wondered if she should tell Cara right there but she knew Cara wouldn’t want to allow her of going so she saved it for another time.

Jasmine couldn’t eat much because she had less appetite.She only ate a quater of the meal and motioned for Cara to get it off her legs.

“You haven’t eaten at all”Cara said,she hadn’t carried the tray away from Jasmine’s legs as she wanted to persuade her on eating more.

“I’m full Cara,just get it off,I need to nap a little”Jasmine said tiredly.

“But you have to take your medications”Cara said,she bended to retrieve the tray on Jasmine’s leg and laid it on the bedside cabinet.

“They can wait”Jasmine said and lazily crawls back under the covers,shielding herself with it while she adjusted her head on the pillow.Cara sighs.She knew Jasmine wasn’t fond of drugs and she had always did a good job of persuading her before she could take them.Cara drags away the covers from Jasmine’s body which alarmed her.Jasmine knew Cara is about to perform her miracle to persuade her into taking the drugs.Jasmine sits back up and bowed her head while staring at the beddings.When she raised up her head,she feigned a puppy look to make Cara let her off but Cara had gotten used to the trick and she doesn’t fall for it a bit.

“It can’t wait your highness,please just take your medications,it will make you feel much better,you have no idea how insanely worried I was yesterday when you could barely move”Cara said.She hadn’t met anyone who fears drugs more than Jasmine ever did.Whenever she had gotten sick back in Nighthawk,Cara would add the pills to the coffee she was to drink and only when Jasmine drinks it will she realize Cara had done her magic.Jasmine sees how worked up Cara was.She doesn’t like stressing Cara too much,moreover,she was no longer her queen so she thinks she could give Cara a little space to live.Jasmine surrendered and took her pills while her face was squeezed in distaste.

“You see,it only takes seconds”Cara said and smiled satisfyingly when she sees Jasmine had taken the drug with little persuasion.Jasmine said nothing and only lays back on the bed.Cara draws up the covers on her while she had a smile on.Truthfully,she had missed nursing Jasmine,it’s like it’s a part of herself she could never see getting rid of.
