Chapter 84

Maya felt so reluctant to go but she had no choice as to not upset their new-to-be queen.Rose had informed Lydia earlier in the morning to make a call to Maya’s home,informing her to accompany Rose to the best seamstress in town.

Maya had immediately left home in the morning and head to the mansion.She waited for about an hour before she sees Rose walking down slowly from the stairs while Lydia stuck to her back like her second skin.

“I must have kept you waiting,sorry about that”Rose said while smiling excitedly to Maya who fakes a smile in return.

“Not at all”Maya said and immediately added ‘your highness’ at the back with the way Rose’s smile died down.

“Shall we”Rose said and didn’t wait for a response from Maya before making her way out of the large living room.Maya takes a deep breath before trailing behind her.

“You should take your car”Rose said when Maya made an attempt to sit at the back seat with her.

“And Beautrice should also sit with you,my driver will follow pursuit”She added and sits inside the car.Maya felt like questioning her but then she remembered it wasn’t Jasmine.She knew Jasmine could have never acted the way Rose acts,even though she was the queen,she never took advantage of others.Maya heads towards her own car and sits inside the driver’s seat while Lydia sits beside her.She fasten her sit belt and ignited the key into the keyhole.She turned it and the car immediately roars to life.She starts driving and Rose’s driver followed behind.

When Maya drive through the town,Lydia was looking outside the window like a novice.It’s been so long since she had seen the city because she had been stuck in the mansion.Her mind drifts back to what happened the day before,It was when Jace had called her.A smile tucks on her lips as she kept her gaze outside the car windshield.After some more minutes of driving,Maya’s car halted at the front of a clothing store.This was the store she had came to chose her wedding dress when she wanted to get married and from then on,the woman had been the one to make her dresses personally.She is the best seamstress in town.

Rose had a different opinion of the store even before entering.She had expected Maya to take her to an emporium but instead she brought her to a commoner’s store.Maya could see the look on her face but she cared less to acknowledge it.Maya didn’t bother waiting for Rose to go in first before she made her way into the store.Rose followed behind with Lydia staying by her side.

“Madam Moore”she smiled to the older woman who quickly leave what she was doing to go meet up with Maya.

“Mrs Smith,I thought you wouldn’t be in need of clothes for the next two months”Madam Moore said,surprised to see Maya because she doesn’t come often to the store,she only have her clothes delivered to her home.

“Her highness needs to pick out a dress,perfect one and I know you will do a great job on making that possible”Maya said and only then did Madam Moore look behind to see Rose standing with her arms crossed glaring at Maya from behind.

“Took you long enough”Rose said quietly to herself but Maya heard.She tried to keep her face calm as she couldn’t find herself getting used to Rose’s rude deportment.Madam Moore had heard of the recent changes in the mansion also and the rumor that goes along with it.She hesitates before acknowledging Rose’s presence.

“Your highness,it’s an honor to have you here”Madam Moore said while trying to keep a smile formed on her lips.She’s the type of person who despises someone with a disreputable history and finds it hard to get along with the person.

“It’s my pleasure to be here”Rose said while faking a smile.

“Please follow me,I will show you perfect dresses I’m sure you will fall in love with”Madam Moore said and turns to begin to walk inside the inner space in the store.They passed alongside many dresses,most looked ordinarily customed which made Rose’s face twist in distaste.Madam Moore opened the door to a vast room,filled with many wedding dresses.Rose was stunned and figured she had underestimated the store.She looks around everywhere as it was perfectly embellished with bridal stuffs.Even the large painting that adorned the wall was that of a woman with a wedding dress on.

“Welcome to the royalty section your highness”Madam Moore said.Lydia also couldn’t stop staring in astonishment at how filled the room was.Rose nods as she couldn’t deny how impressed she was.

“I will go pick out clothes that will suit your taste your highness,please have your seats”Madam Moore motioned to a classic French sofa which shoppers always sat on.Rose was the one to sit first followed by Maya.Rose hadn’t expected Maya to sit right beside her without asking for permission.With Maya’s attitude,she knew she couldn’t keep up with the nasty attitudes the ladies-in-waiting are throwing at her.But she plans to stay calm,just until she becomes the queen then will she get rid of them all.

“Would you like a Tea or coffee ma’am”a salesperson asked politely just like they were trained to.

“Tea,with a spoonful of sugar added”Rose ordered.

“How about you ma’am”the salesperson person asked Maya who smiles and ordered for coffee.The salesperson person nods and makes her way to get what they had ordered.Rose and Maya sat silently beside each other.Maya was the most uncomfortable and she quickly bring out her phone to go through it.She begins to laugh as she came across a funny video.Rose looks at her with one of her brows raised up.She found it so upsetting for Maya to stare at her phone while she was in her presence and she wouldn’t keep it in anymore.

“Isn’t it scornful to laugh right in my face”Rose said with her cheeks raised high and her brows were now furrowed.Maya looks up from her phone and turns her head to face Rose.

“Excuse me”Maya said clueless of why Rose had said what she said.She knows Rose was just trying to pick a fight randomly but Maya plans on not giving in.
