Chapter 89

“You are now crowned the queen and the Luna of this pack”Lord Bernerd said as he laid the crown on Rose’s head.He wasn’t delighted with the joy of the day so did many guests sitted watching Rose.Leila had changed into a Blue long satin strap dress that has a slit from the mid thigh down to the end,she felt like Duke messed up the white dress and couldn’t go to the party anymore with that.She stares uninterestedly at Rose while her interest only lays on the man beside Rose.Duke could see his wife’s gaze on Matt as usual and his stomach turns.He kept asking himself why Leila couldn’t stop crushing on Matt when he was always right beside her.He always felt hurt by her and that was why he retaliated in forcing his way into her,he thought he might get her to fall in love with him but it has been five years and he had given up.

Rose,the lady-in-waiting had worn a very simple plain green Tea length gown that accentuated her pale skin.She had little makeover on since she wasn’t planning on attracting any attention.Serena,Aya and Maya also had beautiful dresses on.Serena had worn a A-line peach dress,Aya worn a red sheath dress while Maya also had a satin black gown on,the only difference between hers and Leila was the color and the slit Leila’s dress had.

There were lots of crowd,mostly nobles.Jasmine’s children were sitted on the first rows of chairs except little Matt who was carried by Madame Eve.They weren’t happy with what they were witnessing but couldn’t stop it either,they could only sit and watch their father foolishly act.

After the crowning,everyone moves to the inside of the mansion.The living room has been transformed into a ballroom and every guests finds their ways to the buffet.Leila had her hand held in Duke’s arm as they also make their way to the living room.The first person she came across was Maya who almost had the same clothes on with her.

“Leila,Duke”Maya addressed with a smile.

“Hi Maya”Leila said and Duke only spared her a smile.Maya like everyone else knew the couples doesn’t get along well so she isn’t surprised with Duke’s attitude.

“You look gorgeous”Maya complimented.

“So are you”Leila said also faking a smile so as to not seem suspicious since she hadn’t been coming in for the meetings and she worried the others will notice the brawl she has with Rose,and maybe talk about her being jealous of Rose behind her back.

“Excuse me”Duke said in his deep voice and let go of Leila’s hand which made Leila upset since she was in front of Maya.Duke didn’t wait for her reply before walking off to a man few foots from where Leila and Maya stood.

“Why haven’t you been coming in for the meeting the ‘new queen’ called”Maya emphasized the new queen and she gave out a short laugh.

“Sorry,I could never get used to her”Maya said and Leila also chuckle.If only Maya knew how much she despised their new queen also.

“I haven’t gotten used to her as well”Leila said.

“Well,what could we do,we have to learn to tolerate her bitchy deportment”Maya moved closer to her and whispered before they both broke out into laughter.

Rose on the other hand had walked hand in hand with Matt as people congratulates them as they pass by.She kept a smile on her face and showed off pretty much to everyone that came their way.Becky,Lucy and Maddie and stayed in a corner,gossiping about her.

“She doesn’t have to be a bitch at all times”Becky said with anger evident on her face.The three of them were upset about what had transpired in the morning but they dared not say anything.They had their table full with different plate of food as Maddie is a glutton.As they talked,she kept having her mouth stuffed with food which made Lucy glare at her.

“What”Maddie said while looking questioningly at Lucy.

“You are shameless”Lucy said with furrowed brows but Maddie cared less.

“It’s free food”Maddie said and continue stuffing her mouth.Becky shook her head and wondered why she hadn’t chosen Rose instead of depressing friends she rolls with now,she regrets her actions seven years ago as she had been the one to blast and insulted Rose the most.

After Leila and Maya had departed,Leila walks towards Rose after she sees that Matt had gone off to talk to some other guests.

“Your highness,congratulations”Leila said with her voice full of sarcasm.

“Leila,I see you have finally come back to your senses,it’s good to have you back”Rose said with a smile still plastered on her face.

“Of course I should,afterall you are already crowned and like you said,you are my queen”Leila said the last part slowly which made Rose let out a short laugh.

“You humor me,thank you Leila”Rose said and they both shared a moment of silence with each thinking of how to get rid of one another.

“I should go,my newly wedded husband must be waiting for me”Rose said and didn’t wait for a reply from Leila before she walks away to talk to someone else other than going to meet Matt.Leila’s fists clenched as she gritted her teeth while her eyes bore into Rose’s back.She sweared inwardly to find evidence against Rose,if she doesn’t become Matt’s wife then she wouldn’t allow anyone else,especially Rose.

“Wife”She heard a familiar voice whispered sefuctively to her left ear while cupping her ass with his firm grip.

“You look lonely”Duke said and Leila forced his hands off her.Duke doesn’t want to make a scene so he complied and let her go.Leila walks off without saying a word to him and Duke stares at her with lust and love,if only for once she could see him.
