Chapter 67

The next day,they had breakfast with Becca passing Rose deadly gaze severally.After breakfast,Lydia walks briskly over to Rose’s room.

Knock—Knock

“Who’s there”Rose shouted.

“It’s Beautrice”Lydia said from outside the door.

“Come in”Rose said and continue knitting a sweater she planned on gifting Matt.Lydia comes in and Rose flashed her a suspicious look.She wondered why Lydia came to see her again after mentioning about everyone departing.

“Why are you here”Rose said sternly.

“I’m sorry about the last time ma’am”Lydia bowed and continue. “I need to bring your attention to something”She said and moves closer to Rose.Rose didn’t say anything because she still found Lydia suspicious.

“It’s about Becca”Lydia said.

“What is it about her again”Rose responded unsurprised.

“I’m going to tell you this because I think it’s very wrong of her to do what she’s planning to do”Lydia said and Rose’s interest rises,she motioned for Lydia to continue.

“Yesterday,Becca had come to me asking me if I could be more of help to her,she said she wanted to get rid of you first and then she will move on to Matt”Lydia said while Rose’s fist were clenched.

“That bitch”Rose mutters underneath her breath with a frown plastered on her face.

“Why would you even be telling me this and why should I trust you”Rose questioned.

“Trust me ma’am,I wouldn’t betray anyone for my own interest,we were once a team but Becca had chosen to walk her own path already which is by betraying us all and I can only tell you this because she told me”Lydia explained like she truly cared whereas she is a manipulator.

“I will make sure to bring that bitch down”Rose said in distaste.

“You need to do whatever you want to do now because Becca had already gone to meet the king and I don’t know whatever she said to him”Lydia prompted and Rose eyes flared up.She drops what she was knitting and head over to the door without waiting to listen to Lydia’s words anymore.

She walks briskly towards Matt’s room and storms in without waiting for his guards permission.Matt wasn’t in his room,she figured he must be in his study.

“Ma’am,the king has gone out”One of the guards said and Rose begins to panic.She wondered if Becca had told him about the spells and how she had set Jasmine up so Matt went out to confirm it all.

“When will he be back”Rose questioned.

“We are not to give out informations of the king”The guards said sternly.Rose knew she wouldn’t get any other words out of them so she didn’t push it.She goes back to her room and paces around like she could die from waiting.Shortly after,Lydia came into the room.

“The king is back”Lydia said and Rose quickly dash out of the room and head towards Matt’s room.Before she could reach Matt’s room,she saw Matt heading towards her room.Her heart beat paces faster as she watches him strides towards her.

“Your highness…..”She said breathlessly when Matt had reached where she stood.

“Rose,are you coming to my room”Matt said casually.

“No,I mean yes,I just wanted to come check on you”Rose managed to say.

“Oh…I was about to come to your room too”Matt said.

“Why”Rose heard herself say without meaning to. “I mean you’ve never come to my room before”Rose corrected.

“Umm…I wanted to check up on you too”Matt said while looking intently at Rose with love.

“Oh,thank you”Rose whispered with a smile.

“For what”Matt whispered back.

“For trusting me”Rose said.

“Why wouldn’t I”Matt chuckles.

“Least I forget,I need to tell you something urgently”Rose said quickly trying not to get distracted on the real reason she had gone to him.

“Okay,let’s go to my study then”Matt said and led Rose towards his study.After they got there,they got seated and Rose begins to talk.

“It’s about Becca your highness”Rose said and Matt’s brows raised up.

“What do you know about her”Matt asked while wondering if arose had found out Becca is his stepsister.

“I heard from a trusted aide she’s planning to get rid of you and I don’t know why or how she will do that but I just needed to tell you”Rose said with a worried look on her face.Matt looked down for awhile trying to reason with it all.Last night Becca had come to him telling him Rose was only trying to be in love with him because of the throne and now Rose had come to tell him Becca was trying to overthrow him.He frowned as he choosed who to side with.

“Your highness…I suggest you throw her out now”Rose said with urgency.Matt reasoned with it and within seconds,he decides to do what Rose said.

“Guards”He called out to the guards always standing at his door front.Two rushed in and bowed.

“Go to Becca’s room and bring her out to the living room”Matt ordered.The guards bowed and left in a hurry.Rose smiles satisfyingly as she sees her plan working out.Matt stands up to leave the room to the living room and Rose trails behind him.

Becca who was having an afternoon nap was awaken by the sudden sound of the door.Her visions was stil blurry and she could hardly fathom what is going on at the moment.Before she could think,both of the guards hands had grabbed her arms pulling her up and dragging her out to the living room.

“What’s going on,let go of me”Becca shouted but they didn’t care enough to listen.

“If you know who I am,you won’t be humiliating me like this you morons”Becca said and still heard them say nothing.She was dragged to the front of Matt and Rose who stood beside him.

“You…”she sneered in realization as she watches a grin spread across Rose’s face.
