Chapter 58

Becca sneaks out of her and tiptoes to Rose’s room while avoiding the guards.She heaves a sigh of relief when she entered Rose’s room without being caught.She doesn’t want unnecessary attention drawn to her.She saw Rose seated on her bed with her arms crossed and the maid,Beautrice was seated on the wingback chair in Rose’s room.

“What is the reason for you to call a meeting when you know it is a critical moment here and we can’t afford to be seen together”Rose said with her brows furrowed.She had originally planned to spend the night at Matt’s room but had no choice but to cancel it to create no suspicion from Becca and Beautrice.Becca frowned when she sees how annoyed Rose looks.She walks over to the wall and laid her back on it while facing the other women in the room.

“It’s you Rose,you are the reason I called this meet-up”Becca said with a distasteful look on her face.

“What do you have to say about me causing trouble again”Rose said.Their eyes were sending daggers at each other.

“The plan was only to get rid of the queen but I guess you are planning to replace the queen,aren’t you?”Becca said and Rose’s brows furrowed more.

“What !….why do you think so”Rose said.Beautrice was tired of the two always finding a good reason to fight all the time.She only sat watching the two intently as they bit words at each other.

“You have slept with the king twice and I know you plan on getting pregnant so he wouldn’t have a choice but to make you his new queen”Becca said.

“What,you think of me so low Becca,and why have you been sneaking a peak at my every move,is it that your insecurity wouldn’t let you trust me”Rose said,knowing fully well Becca was right.She wondered how Becca got to see through her.

“No,I don’t trust you a bit Rose,you have always being manipulative and selfish and I wouldn’t be stupid enough to trust someone like you”Becca said. Rose eyes flared up in anger and she stands up instantly.

“‘Some like me’,how about you Becca Wilde,you think I don’t know why you are truly here”Rose said and Becca frowns,curious of what Rose meant.

“What is that you know about me”Becca questioned.

“I know you want to overthrow Matt and become the Luna of Nighthawk so stop tagging me as the only one who doesn’t keep their words”Rose said and Becca kept quiet for a while.She couldn’t believe Rose had seen through her also for she thought of her as stupid but she wouldn’t allow Rose to win over her.

“Of course you will think that,it’s not strange coming from a cunning bitch like you”Becca said and Rose clenched her fist.

“What….a bitch !”Rose exclaimed and charged towards Becca.She had aimed to hit Becca on the face but Beautrice’s voice stopped her.They had both completely forgotten they had a third party in the room.

“Will you two please stop”Beautrice said louder than she ever talked.She had her fist clenched as she was annoyed with Becca and Rose’s brawl.

Rose scowls at Becca and returns to take a seat back on the bed.Beautrice shook her head and calmly speak.

“Though we do not know each other much but we had come together for one goal in mind and that is to get rid of the queen,we have got that done and I think we have no reason to meet each other again and fight unnecessarily”Beautrice said and that angered Rose.

“A lowly maid shouldn’t decide whether or not we want to keep this going”Rose said and Becca agreed also,ignoring the fact that she and Rose had just had an intense brawl.

“I’m sorry if I upsetted you but it’s actually true”Beautrice said trying to stay calm as always.

“No I don’t think so Beautrice,you will shut up and listen to me”Rose said and Becca chips in.

“Why will she listen to you”Becca said while her arms were still crossed with her back laid on the wall.

“Because,just as you insinuated,I might end up being the queen one day and you two will have no choice but to follow my orders”Rose said.

“You wish”Becca simply replied and begins to walk over to the door.

“Where do you think you are going”Rose said at Becca’s retreating back.Becca didn’t look back as she exits the room.She looked everywhere and walks quietly back to her room.

“Excuse me”Beautrice said and also got up to leave.

“What…where are you going”Rose said and stands back up.

“To the maid’s quarters as it is strange for a maid to be seen walking around in the middle of the night”Beautrice said sternly like she needed no objection from Rose.She left the room and snorts.If not for her mission,she would have torn Rose apart with her claws with the way she talked to her.She strides to her room and opens the door quietly inorder not to wake her roommate.She gently closes the door back and walks over to her bed which was at the right hand side of the room.She lays quietly on the soft mattress and draw her pillow to her head.

Her thoughts drifts back to the moment when her brother had assigned her a mission.For the first time in her life,she had felt needed and she sees no reason to object even though she found it displeasing but she had been excited her brother had finally acknowledged her.He had chosen a name for her to use as her alias and that hence the name Beautrice.Her real name was Lydia Reed,Jace,her brother had left her to handle a very important quest of his.The thought of the quest excites her and she smiled in the darkness.
