Chapter 61

Cara had been a celibate her whole life.She had drawn out how she wanted to live for the rest of her life.Being a half-blood,she had once lived in the human world with her father but then he died and she had to find the world of her mother he had often told her about.When she had first come to the Nighthawk pack,she had been ridiculed by others but Jasmine had been the only one to acknowledge her so much.That is why she couldn’t see herself not getting stuck with Jasmine.For the years,she had never thought she would have a mate.She hadn’t thought of it until this very moment she bumps her head on Sam’s chest.Her heart couldn’t stop beating fast and she knew right then she had found her mate.

“Are you alright”she heard Sam say while looking down at her.She only nods as the event was still shocking and embarrassing to her.

“Who are you”The plump woman shouted at Sam who glares at her.

“Are you one of her sex clients huh”The woman said and charge again at Cara but Sam held the woman’s hand firmly.

“You are the shameless one to not keep your husband in check and blame others on your incompetence”Sam said and the woman’s eyes burns with a rage that could tear Sam apart but it couldn’t because Sam was much stronger than she is.

“She….”the woman was about to talk until her eyes lands on her husband coming out of an elevator holding another blonde hand in hand.She looks back at Cara and then back at the blonde her husband was with.When Sam sees her expression,he let go of her hand and the woman looks apologetic at Cara but didn’t apologize instead she ran towards her husband like a madman.The gazes of the people shifted to the woman and her husband’s mistress.Cara too had shifted away from Sam and looks at the woman with a frown.Sam saw how displeased she looked and before Cara could think,Sam grabs her by the hand and walks her outside the building.

They both stood silent for a moment before Cara decides to speak.

“Thank you for back there”Cara said while evading Sam’s gaze.

“It’s no problem,are you okay”Sam said while looking intently at her.He had known the reason he was so pulled to her.He was a man who craves love but got known so meeting is mate is the best thing that happened to him in his whole life.

“You must have thought of me as what the woman said”Cara said nervously.

“No,never,I could never do that”Sam said quickly and Cara only nods.

“Could I get you coffee to at least make you calm cause you still seem to be in shock”Sam said trying to keep them together.Cara couldn’t see herself denying either.

“Okay”she said while nodding.

Sam took her to a nearby coffee shop.It felt weird to have someone order coffee for her when she had always been the one to serve Jasmine coffee.But she felt good about it.

“Here”Sam passed her a cup of coffee on the table.Sam takes a seat opposite her and watches as she took the cup carefully into her grasp.

“Thank you”Cara mutters.She takes a sip out of the coffee.

“I haven’t asked of your name…”Sam asked.

“Oh…I’m Cara,I haven’t asked of yours too”Cara said.

“I’m Sam”He said while staring at her facial features.Her rosy lips were biting nervously into each other and her almond brown eyes were gazing at the coffee cup.He knows she felt what he had felt too,the tingling feeling.

“So are you and your friend from somewhere far”Sam asked curious of where Cara is from.

“Oh…no,Queen Jasmine and I are in need of Alpha Jace’s help so we are going along with him to the moon rising pack….”Cara blabbed not realizing she had revealed their identity.

“Queen Jasmine?”Sam furrowed his brows in confusion.Of course he knew who she is.He had heard of the brawl seven years ago between the Nighthawk pack and Moon rising pack.Why would Queen Jasmine be in need of Alpha Jace’s help?

Cara who had realized what she had said clasps her hand on her mouth.

“Oh…”She paused and continues. “We are members of the Nighthawk pack and I am queen Jasmine’s maid”She said slowly.

“Oh,may I ask why you are here with her”Sam said.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard but….Umm”Cara hesitates.

“Queen Jasmine is no longer the Luna of Nighthawk”Cara said and begins to explain everything that had happened.She doesn’t know why she felt so relaxed telling him everything even though she suppose not to.

“Oh…that’s hell of an experience”Sam said surprised by everything Cara told him.

“Yeah…”Cara drawled and looked down at the coffee cup she was holding like she had done several times to evade his gaze.

“I guess I will get to see you often then”Sam said knowing that he will start living with trying to keep his eyes off her.

“Is that a bad thing”Cara said.

“No,no,it’s actually a good thing”He said and Cara felt her face flushed.

“How about your perspective”Sam asked while keeping his face expressionless as ever.

“I think it is too”Cara said while flashing him a smile.Sam smiles back at her while keep on wondering why Alpha Jace would help Jasmine after all that had transpired between them but he shove it off his mind when he thought it had made him meet Cara anyways.He kept his gaze on her as she fiddles with the coffee cup she was holding.Cara on the other hand couldn’t stop being aware of her surroundings as it felt like she’s was the center of attention with Sam’s gaze.
