Chapter 68

Becca watches Rose with eyes full of rage.She was heaving while her lips were quivering.

“What is the meaning of this your highness”Becca shouted.

“I will let you go scot free on one condition Becca,you leave here and never come back and if you chose not to listen,you will be brought before the council and tagged as a rebel”Matt said and Becca’s eyes wildens.

“What…what do you mean…rebel,only the wench beside you is a rebel”Becca shouted as she wanted to pounce on Rose like a madman but was stopped by the guards.

“Drag her out of here”Matt said and didn’t bother sparing another glance at Becca before leaving.Rose stood with her arms crossed while smiling.

“Get your hands off me”Becca shouted as she tried to break free from the men’s hold.

“You just wait…I will make you pay”Becca said to Rose who smirks.Unknowingly to both of them,Lydia was watching everything she had planned unfolding in front of her.She smiles and left soon after so as to not be seen by anyone.

After Becca got thrown out,she finds her way to a cab to take her back home.Throughout her ride,she has been fuming which had made the cab man glance severally at her through the rear view mirror.

“Are you okay ma’am”the man had said but Becca passed him a glare.

“None of your business”Becca had said which annoyed the man but he couldn’t say anything because he was obliged in staying calm with his passengers.

After she was dropped few blocks from where she lived,she paid the man and rushed down slamming the door behind her.She strides briskly to the front of her house and knocks.Nina,her friend opened the door and Becca goes in.

“Becca what is wrong”Nina said with a worried look on her face.Becca’s son,Teddy came running towards Becca to hug her.

“Mummy”He called as he dived into her arms.

“Baby”she said and kisses him severally on the cheeks.

“I missed you”She said.It had been almost a month since she has seen him and she had truly missed him.She had left Nina in care of Teddy since she won’t be around to take care of him.

“I missed you too mummy,where have you been”Teddy said in his baby voice.

“Have been at Uncle’s place”Becca said while walking over to the sofa with Teddy held in her arms.Nina stayed quiet while watching the mother and son display affection towards each other.

After some minutes,Nina distracts Teddy to go play with some of his toys.She needed her and Becca alone to talk.

“We can talk now”Nina said as she takes a sit.

“That bitch Rose ratted me out to my stepbrother and he kicked me out without thinking”Becca said to Nina.

“Woah,what are you gonna do now”Nina asked while her brows were raised up.

“It’s a matter of ‘we’ Nina,if we could both join hands together,I’m sure we will win over that bitch”Becca said.Nina watched her for a while with a smile forming on her face.Nina,being a garrulous person doesn’t go into something that will hurt her in anyway.She had always been against Becca going to the mansion in the first place but Becca didn’t listen.

“No way Becca,I’m not doing this with you,I told you I don’t want to get myself tied up with some shits and look at you Becca,aren’t you living good”Nina said with her brows furrowed trying to talk her friend out on going into another fight.

“No,I don’t like living this way any longer,i don’t want to live like a curse or a stain,you have no idea how that feels”Becca whisper shouted,she wouldn’t want her son eavesdropping on their conversation.

“I have no idea how it feels Becca but all I know is that if you insist on being stubborn about this,then count me out and I’m going with Ted,I wouldn’t let you put that innocent child at risk because of your selfish power hungry behavior”Nina said and got up.Becca quickly get up and grab her hand.

“You are not going with him”Becca warned sternly with her eyes burring into Nina’s.

“Fine,just know whatever happens to him is your fault”Nina spat.She cared for Ted more than Becca did because she had always been the one to stay with him.Becca wants to apologize but she couldn’t because of her pride.Nina got her stuffs out of the bedroom and left without saying goodbye to Ted.

“Mummy…”Teddy called while Becca’s eyes were still glued on the door.She made sure to put on a smile before turning back to face her soon.

“Yes”Becca answered and moves closer to where Ted stood.

“Where is Nina going”Ted said.

“Oh,she…Mrs Wheeler needed her home urgently”Becca said.Mrs Wheeler is Nina’s mother and Teddy is familiar with the older woman.

“Okay,she didn’t say goodbye though”Ted frowned.He had also grown attached to Nina.

“It was because she was in a hurry,don’t worry I will call her to apologize some other time”Becca said while smiling the best she could.

“When will she be back,I miss her already”Ted said and Becca begins to get impatient with her son’s drama.

“She will be back soon,go back to your room”She say hurriedly and pushed him slowly into his room.

“I will come check on you later okay,I need to take care of some things”Becca said and smiles broadly before kissing his forehead lightly.

“Okay”Ted said and continues to play with his toys.

Becca heaves and then goes back to sitting on the sofa.She ran a hand through her hair and immediately stand up again to get a glass of wine which she gulped down instantly after she had gotten it in her grip.

She keeps thinking of a plan.
