Chapter 78

Leila wipes the tears that had stained her face.She was the last among the ladies in waiting to leave the mansion.When she was leaving,she had saw Matt coming down from his car and heading towards the entrance where she had stood.When he reaches her side,she greeted him with a bow and Matt only raised his hand to acknowledge her presence and left to go inside immediately.Leila felt sad because Matt had always behaved like he doesn’t recognize her whereas they were once betrothed.

The pain of having a one sided love is infuriating to her and she had hated it more when her father had forced her to forget her one sided love and move on to another man.Though she had been married for five years,she had not bore her husband children in the name of the love she still had for Matt.The only reason of hers hating Jasmine was because she sees Jasmine as the reason Matt didn’t marry her but she knew deep down Matt hadn’t just loved her,she just needed someone to blame of her misfortune.She strides briskly towards where she parked her car as she recalls Rose’s words.

She kept thinking of what to do and who to connect with so she could stop the wedding.She opens the door to the driver’s seat and sits.She closed the door and held the steering wheel while glaring at nothing in particular.Since the car was soundproof,she thought of unleashing her anger in the car.She suddenly begins to shout and bangs her head hard on the steering wheel once.The pain hit her hard but she cared less about the physical pain,the emotional one is the one killing her inwardly.After some minutes of fuming,she ignited the key into the keyhole and starts the car.She drives off with the thought of coming back with some real plan planned.


Lydia had also been preoccupied with the recent renovations in the mansion.All maids had been busy moving things in Jasmine’s room to a abandoned room in the mansion.Rose had ordered to have all Jasmine’s clothes burned and all the gold and diamonds she owned should be the only remains of Jasmine in the room.Lydia had make sure to do less work though.She had gotten tired of working relentlessly for the sake of the mission but she wouldn’t back out as she sees she’s almost getting to the end of her mission.

“Just little time more”She had always whispered to herself whenever she does the necessary chores of a maid.

She stood in the kitchen,helping out the chefs when another maid came to call her.The maid had said Rose had been asking of her.She left what she was doing and finds her way towards where Rose’s room was.She heaves out before knocking as she had always been annoyed of Rose’s talks.

“Come in”she heard Rose said and Lydia pushes the door opened.She saw Rose standing with a wine glass held in her grip and a smile plastered on her face.

“Your highness”Lydia bows to impress Rose.

“Oh Beautrice,you look wonderful this afternoon”Rose said while beaming.She was in a good mood which had made her forgotten she had seen Lydia earlier in the morning.

“You have seen me already today”Lydia said while trying hard to fake a smile.

“Oh my bad,everyone just look different more than they had looked in the past”Rose gave out a short laugh and takes a sit on her bed.

“Might be because you’ve totally won”Lydia tries to sound excited just like Rose was.

“Right”Rose mutters while nodding in agreement.

“How may I be of help to you your highness”Lydia said.

“Come and have your seat Beautrice,I just wanted someone to listen to me,you know it’s quite tiring to have no one to chat with,my alliances have all betrayed me aiming to overthrow me now,it’s upsetting”Rose said with a pout.She had been sarcastic about her alliances which were Becca and Leila.

“Oh…”It escapes Lydia’s lips without her realizing and she managed to keep her straight face like she was annoyed of Rose’s reason but then she thought it had eventually made gain a little freedom from work she had to do before the end of the day as it will be her excuse to her superiors.

“It must be so upsetting to have friends betray,I can’t relate but I feel your pain my Queen”Lydia said trying to be positive in every way.Rose was very pleased with Lydia’s words as she thought of rewarding Lydia.

“You know what Beautrice,after I’m crowned as the queen,I will make you the head maid and I will let you the honor of being by my side at all times”Rose said and Lydia pretends to be surprised.

“Oh my….your highness,you leave me speechless”Lydia said while holding her hand on her chest with her mouth open wildly.Rose chuckles as she found Lydia funny with her reaction.

“The only thing you should continue doing is being loyal to me and fish out the rats that wants to overthrow me”Rose said and Lydia nods.

“I will surely do that your highness,Thank you my queen”Lydia said and bows to Rose which made her very fulfilled.If only others are as loyal as Beautrice to her will she be completely satisfied but she thought of forcing them all to.Rose pours a glass for Lydia to drink and they cheered.Rose’s thoughts were filled with how the wedding will go and afterwards,her reign as the queen while Lydia had been thinking of how infuriating the situation she was in was.She had scoffed when she sees Rose wasn’t looking and immediately chuckle when Rose made a joke.She herself is surprised of how two faced she is and finds that repulsive but what could she do,she needs to be the good sister to her brother.
