Chapter 95

When it was nighttime,Jace knocked on Jasmine’s door.Cara was the one who opened the door,she flashes Jace a smile when she sees it was him.

“Alpha Jace,we were just preparing to come down for dinner”Cara said.

“Oh really,I just came back from my outing,I’m sorry to have come late”Jace said with a fake smile on.The only person he could genuinely smile at is Jasmine.He had a rough day and he has a lot running through his mind.He had heard another pack,the Windsnow is challenging his pack to a combat between their best men.What had him worried was that he heard the Windsnow men were more like gladiators and his most powerful man at the moment was Sam.Though he knew Sam to be strong but he doesn’t think he could probably take on a beast-like wolves.Jace doesn’t want to back down either does he want to lose the challenge and be a laughing stock in the face of other packs just like he was seven years ago,he wouldn’t see himself going through that kind of phase again.The thoughts had occupied his mind which made him forget about Jasmine totally.He had remembered when he came down for dinner but couldn’t find Jasmine or Cara sitted.He couldn’t tell the truth of forgetting so since he knew Jasmine nor Cara isn’t aware of whenever he comes or goes out,he lied about coming back home late.

“Her highness is getting ready now,she’s quite busy but she will see you when she comes down”Cara said.She couldn’t possibly tell him Jasmine was just taking a shower ever since morning,it’s indecent of a queen to do that.Jace nods and then excused himself.Cara closes the door and walks briskly to the door separating the bedroom and the bathroom.

“Alpha Jace is waiting”Cara said louder than usual so Jasmine could hear her.She wondered what was taking Jasmine long to finish showering since it had almost been forty minutes since she had gone in.

Jasmine on the other hand had been busy doing something obscene.She couldn’t deny herself of a little pleasure anymore since she had been deprived for years.Back in Nighthawk,she had only touched herself whenever it was nighttime and exceedingly horny.Since Matt never came to her quarters anymore,she had learned the act to satisfy her sexual urge and survive.She immediately stopped when she heard Cara’s voice from the bedroom.She realized she had taken long than usual and she quickly grab the towel and wraps it around her body.

She goes out of the bathroom and meets Cara standing right outside.When she sees the look on Cara’s face,she had thought she had been caught in the act.Her cheeks reddens in embarrassment and she quickly walk past Cara to start getting dressed.Cara was puzzled on why Jasmine looked embarrassed.Since she was a novice in anything involving sex,she hadn’t guessed what kept Jasmine so long in the bathroom.

“Alpha Jace had come to ask of you just now”Cara said and went over to assist Jasmine in dressing.Jasmine’s sickness made Cara regain her sense of responsibility and she promised herself to start doing all those things she had always done for Jasmine back in Nighthawk.

“What are you doing”Jasmine asked when Cara got closer to her.

“Help you in dressing up”Cara said and Jasmine’s brow furrowed.

“There’s nothing to dress up Cara,I can do that myself”Jasmine said but Cara insisted also did Jasmine.

“It’s okay Cara,please”Jasmine said and when Cara sees Jasmine is persistent,she gave up.Thankfully,Jace had had different pairs of clothes sent to Jasmine’s room which were casual fits.Cara had chosen a loose T-shirt and tracksuits for her to wear.Cara had never seen Jasmine in her a casual outfit before and she was stunned to see how good it looked on Jasmine.She knew Jasmine was blessed with a killer body so she wasn’t so surprised.After they were done,Jasmine and Cara head downstairs for dinner.

“Jasmine”Jace called when he saw Jasmine.It had been no intention of his to have called her in such a casual way while they were in the presence of another.Cara looked from Jace to Jasmine to see Jasmine’s reaction when Jace had called her by her name.She sensed something cooking up between Jace and Jasmine which she finds unpleasant.Jasmine too is uncomfortable with how he had called her name casually and she sheepishly flashed him a smile.

“Alpha Jace,I’m sorry for keeping you waiting”Jasmine said and takes a sit where she usually does.Cara also takes a seat.

“Not at all,I haven’t been here for long as well”He wasn’t lying when he said that.He had been in his study,having a conversation with Sam about the challenge.A maid starts to serve the meal.

“Are you feeling much better”Jace asked.

“Yes,yes I am,thank you for looking after me”Jasmine said.

“I didn’t do anything,you did the good job of recovering well”Jace said and Jasmine smiles.Soon after,they begin to eat in silence.While eating,Jasmine thought of talking to Jace about the full moon festival after they are done eating.She’s very much eager for the days to rush by so she could get to see her babies.

“Go on first Cara”Jasmine said after they were done eating.Cara’s brows furrowed as she wondered why Jasmine wants to stay downstairs with Jace.She finds the whole situation suspicious.After Jasmine sees Cara had left,she clears her throat before talking.

“I need your help with something”Jasmine said to Jace.

“What is that”Jace asked,curious of what Jasmine is about to say.

“You know,the full moon festival is in four days…”Jasmine paused to see Jace’s reaction but he showed no expression that could be detected so she continues “You are going for the festival right?”Jasmine asked.

“Yes”Jace gave a simple reply.He had quickly guessed what she was about to say and he knows his answer will probably disappoint her but he cared less.

“I was thinking if I could accompany you to the festival”Jasmine said.What she said is what Jace had exactly thought.

“I don’t think that will be possible your highness”Jace said sternly.

“But…”Jace cuts her off before she could talk.

“That place is dangerous for you for now and I can’t allow you to be exposed to any danger while you are in my care”Jace said which made Jasmine opens her mouth agape,finding herself speechless.

“It’s a mask party,no one will recognize me”Jasmine tried to convince him more.

“No,I’m sorry,I can’t do that”Jace said and Jasmine sees he had already made up his mind.She nods and gets up to leave.Jace didn’t bother calling her back because he had no way of comforting her,he would rather leave her angry than granting her request.
