Chapter 69

Jasmine and Cara had been sitted for almost two hours in the convertible ride that was taking them to Jace’s home.Jasmine’s face shun up when they got to the familiar track to where the Moon rising pack is.Many memories starts flashing back into her mind.Many were happy ones while the least were bad.She had worked as a maid in Jace’s home and had been assigned to Jace’s room.That was how Jace got to be familiar with her.Her comin to his room day and night answering his unending questions.

A small smile formed on her lips.Cara saw it and wondered what would make Jasmine smile when she was going to a place she shouldn’t have ever thought of going to.Jace had ordered a different car to take them along and he and Sam were right in front of the car leading the way.After some more driving,the car came to an halt at the front of a large mansion.In Jasmine’s perspective,the building had gotten more ancient than it had looked seven years ago.The rock walls had grown darker like it had been tinted in darkness,the once friendly ambiance it had seems all gone with the way grasses crept on the sides of the rock walls.

Jasmine knew what had gone wrong,it was her.She was the reason the once peaceful pack had turned into a dreadful mess.Matt’s fight with Jace had caused that.But now that she’s back,she wondered if anyone will ever accept her.

Just like she anticipated,as they stepped in,many eyes sneered at her.They all couldn’t say anything because of their Alpha who led the way.No matter how displeased they feel,they dare not let it out in front of their Alpha.

Jasmine saw a familiar face she had always been disturbed with when she was working as a maid there.It was the head maid,Fiona.She had an immense hatred for Jasmine because Jace favored her.

“Fiona”Jace called.

“Yes Alpha”Fiona said while bowing.

“Have you had the rooms prepared as instructed for my guests”Jace said which made the other wolves there including Fiona surprised,but in a bad way.Their eyes were wildened as they expect Jace never to have Jasmine as a guest again.

“Yes Alpha”Fiona said.Though she had been informed but she doesn’t know who the guests were.

“Good”Jace said and turned to face Jasmine with a genial smile.

“Fiona will take you to your rooms,please be comfortable”Jace said.

“Oh thank you Alpha Jace”Jasmine said also flashing him a smile.She could at least do that.Jace nods and left to his room leaving Jasmine with the overwhelming stares.

“How dare you crawl back here little bee”Fiona said taking slow steps towards Jasmine.

“Nice to meet you to Fiona”Jasmine said trying to stop the fight Fiona is about to bring up.Just when Fiona wanted to say something,Sam came walking towards them.

“I could take Miss Cara to her room”Sam said which made Fiona’s face quickly divert away from Jasmine to Cara.She frowns as she sees the way Sam had looked at Cara.She knew right away there was something between the two with the way Cara was smiling like a child who was given a candy.

“Take Miss Jasmine to her room Fiona”Sam ordered and Fiona didn’t waste another second before leading Jasmine to the room reserved for her.Fiona’s steps were loud as she stomps on the floor.Jasmine wasn’t surprised,she expected the worst from Fiona because she had been the worst to Jasmine.

They got to the front of a room and Fiona stops.

“I have no idea what you are doing here Jasmine but I will make you regret it”Fiona said with venom.Without any other word,she left.Jasmine sighs and goes into the room.She locks the door behind her as she doesn’t want anyone barging into the room.She went over to the bed and sits on the middle.She spread her hand wildly on it to feel the softness of the beddings.Just then,a long forgotten memory flashed her mind.It had been when she was with Jace in the past.It was a night when she had gotten scolded by Fiona just like she had always been,Jace had ordered for a night coffee and he had asked Jasmine to bring it over to him to his room.Jasmine had opened his door only to see him with no shirt on.Rather than the night she had spent with Matt,she had never been with a man and she had gotten flustered with Jace’s appearance.

“You seem like you’ve never seen a man”Jace had said in his deep voice with his eyes seductively scanning her.Jasmine had cleared her throat and looked down.

“With my condition,there’s no denying I haven’t”She had said forgetting the honorific. “Alpha”she had added when she realized.Jace had only nodded and she had walked closer to lay the tray of coffee on the bedside cabinet but unfortunately,she tripped and the next thing she knew was her body had been held in Jace’s arms keeping her from falling but eventually,they landed on the bed and the coffee had spilled on the floor.That moment had been the first time Jasmine felt safe.She had no idea how a man’s arms could be ever comforting but she had her first with Jace.

She shook her head immediately after she realized how foolish it was of her to think of that moment when she had a husband who loved her and she loved and still do.But then again,her mind continued to play tricks on her.She battled her lashes severally as her brows were bowed in a frown.A single question kept repeating on her mind as she kept her gaze on nothing in particular.
