Chapter 98

Leila slept well even though she did toss many times on the bed before drifting off to sleep.If she had known she would get a peaceful sleep in the guest room, she would have been a guest many times.She sat up on the bed before stretching her arms lazily.Her hair had completely frizzled as the result of tossing.She needed to get up anyways,she had things to do for the day.Her stomach turns when she remembered the things she had to do for the day.There was a meeting for the ladies-in-waiting and she isn’t planning on not going anymore.She hated to see the usual face Rose had on whenever she sees her but she wouldn’t let Rose win over her.Leila had thought of many ways to get rid of Rose.Her goal had totally switched when Rose betrayed her.What she had in mind was to get divorced with her husband and go for the her ever love but now,she cared less if Matt ever accepts her,all she needed is getting her revenge.

She stands on her foot and walks over to get the door opened.She walks out of the room and walked through the hall to return to she and Duke’s bedroom,she had all her clothes there afterall.

“Hope you had a lovely night ma’am”Clarence,one of the four maids they had said with her face lit with a smile.

“I did Clarence,hope you had a goodnight rest as well”Leila said.

“Yes ma’am,thank you,master had asked of you,he awaits you in the room”Clarence said and Leila nods.Clarence left soon after,leaving Leila with her thoughts.

“Bastard”she mutters to herself referring to her husband as that.She continues to walk towards their bedroom and sighs when she got to the front of the door before pushing in the door.Thankfully for her,Duke was completely dressed in a loose pants and sweatshirt.She figured he wasn’t going anywhere to have dressed so casual.She strode into the room,acting more carefree than she had ever been.She was an adult so she wasn’t glued to thinking about what had transpired between them the last night.Duke watches her with the corner of his eyes as she acted like nothing happened.She hadn’t expected her to act any different,knowing whom his wife was.Leila heads into the bathroom to get a nice soothing bath.

She locks the bathroom door behind her so Duke wouldn’t play any trick with her.She got off her nightwear and then her panties.She got under the shower and turns it on.She took the soap from the soap bar and begins to rub it on her milky skin while the shower springs on her.

After she was done,she got out of the bathroom with a bathrobe on.She heaves a sigh of relief when she sees the room was empty.She wondered why he hadn’t waited to tease her just like he always does.Her mind drifts off to the night before yet again,she recalls how he had let her leave when he needed a woman right then.If it was the Duke she knew,he wouldn’t have let her go and they would have gladly slept together.What was wrong with him?

She lets the thoughts off her mind and begins to get dressed.She wore a black mesh turtleneck top with flared trousers.She had her hair let down and added a little makeover on.After she was done dressing up,she goes out of the room and heads towards the dinning room.When she got there,she saw Duke already sitted and was almost done eating.He stands up instantly after he took one more spoon into his mouth and drank a small amount of water.He left the room which pleases Leila.She doesn’t know what changed him but the change serves as an escape from her,she felt good.Their kitchen maid,Tamara,served Leila’s meal also.After she was done eating,she stayed for a little in the dinning room so she could end up late for the meeting Rose had called,she wasn’t planning on being in anyway diligent.

After she sees time has gone a little,she gets up and goes off to her car.She drove very slow to the mansion.Just like her intention was,she was the last person to get to the meeting.

“You are ‘very’ late Leila”Rose said,emphasizing the ‘late’ with her face twisted in distaste.

“Oh my queen,there was an hell of a traffic while I drove here,I’m sorry if it displeases you”Leila said sarcastically and Rose just rolled her eyes.Aya and Maya looked skeptically at each other with how Leila performed,they wondered what caused the beef between them.

Rose,the lady-in-waiting had her head bowed down staring at nothing in particular.That was how she always did during every meetings they had.Rose found that infuriating but she didn’t bother making mention of it,she thought afterall she will get rid of all of them soon enough.

They talked about the preparations for the full moon festival that was going to take place in the mansion.Leila as usual,had lots of ideas about making a perfect view of an event which made her smirk many times at Rose.She was showing off that she had more aptitude as a queen more than Rose does.Since the full moon festival takes place at nighttime,Leila suggested the event to take place outside the mansion rather that indoor as they usually did in the past years.Rose had talked down the idea but Aya and Serena backed up Leila which made Leila once again smirk at Rose.Rose,the lady-in-waiting only talked once and that was when she had to excuse herself to go to the restroom.

“Has she always been without any inkling”Rose said after she sees Rose,the lady-in-waiting had left the room.

“No,in fact she had been cheerful when queen Jasmine was here,maybe she just finds your presence so infuriating she couldn’t stand you and had to run off to the restroom”Leila said which created a tense atmosphere in the room.

“Leila”Maya cautioned while frowning at her.

“Oh my bad,I shouldn’t have said that but it was the plain truth”Leila said and Rose grimaced.She stares silently and waited for Rose to come back before talking.

“If your loyalty lies with Jasmine,how about you go off to her”Rose said as soon as Rose,the lady in waiting took her sit.Rose was confused with what the queen said and wondered what would make her say that.The queen glared at her which made her throw a skeptic look at others.Leila on the other hand had a smirk on knowing she had won in displeasing their queen more.

“Leila here made mention of you about the unending love you had for your past queen but I will remind you once,all of you,I’m your new queen and you will do as I say”With that being said,Rose storms out of the room,furious of how Leila got the best of her.Back at the meeting room,Leila was the first to stand up to leave to avoid other’s scolding but surprisingly for her,they didn’t make any attempt of calling her back.Nobody cared about their new queen enough to aide her words.
