Chapter 74

Matt sneaks into Rose’s room late at night.He hadn’t seen her all day long and his heart longed for her so he wouldn’t deprive himself of it.He quietly opens the door and close it behind him.He saw Rose sleeping peacefully on the bed.She had worn a white nightwear which makes her look angelic rather than the true devil she is underneath.Matt smiled lovingly at her.He walks closer and gets on the bed to cuddle her.

Rose woke up with the gentle hold of Matt’s arms.She smiles when she sights him looking at her.

“It’s quite late your highness”Rose whispers.

“A better time for you and I isn’t it”Matt whispers back in a seductive way.He kept his gaze on her rosy lips and moves closer to kiss her eventually.He savors her lips slowly as he gently touches her.Suddenly,the memory of Jasmine flashed across his mind which made him stop abruptly.

“What’s wrong”Rose said when she sees the look in his eyes.He looks like he’s searching for someone else in the room which had him disturbed.Matt stayed still for a while,he stares at Rose’s eyes intently.He hates himself for feeling that way sometimes which had him bothered.Every time he shares a moment with Rose,Jasmine keeps coming to his mind.He wonders why when their love was fake.

“Rose….”Matt called while looking intently into her eyes.

“Yes”Rose responded quietly.

“Will you do me the honor of being my queen”Matt whispers which had Rose tummy filled with excitement.All she had wanted all along is finally coming to pass.She hadn’t thought it would be so easy to win,if not,she would have done that before it reached seven years.

She gave a short laugh quietly and slams her lips into Matt’s.

“It will be my honor your highness”Rose said and kisses him again.The night ended with both of them holding on to each other like they were inseparable.

The next day,Matt called upon the council.

“I call you here because I would like to announce my new wife and the new queen”Matt said while sitted at the head of the table.

“So soon your highness”One of the council men said which made Matt glare at him.

“I will have it any time I want to”Matt declared.The men sighs and looks skeptically at each other.

“Whom might it be your highness”One of the men asked.A smile forms on his lips as he motions his hand for one of his guards.

“Let her in”he said and the guard bowed and walk towards the door.He opens the door that reveals Rose standing in the doorway,looking devilish as ever in her favorite pick of clothes.

“Your highness,the council”Rose said while bowing to them all.A look of horror grows into the men’s faces as they stare at Rose.

“Councilors,this is my new to-be queen”Matt Introduced Rose to them while motioning his hands towards Rose.

“What…”One of the man trails on,trying to chose words to say without upsetting the king.

“But your highness,this is the sister of the past queen”Another said confidently while looking at Matt with distaste.

“How does that be of any concern to you Lord Bernerd”Matt said with his gaze dark like he was out for hunting.He had always tolerated the council and their rash way of speaking to him but he doesn’t plan to comply this time with them.

“It does your highness,in fact to everyone one of us”Lord Bernerd said speaking for others who hesitated in upsetting their king.They kept their head down cowardly while Lord Bernerd seems to be the only brave one to stand up to the king.

“The council is brought together to correct and guard you,your highness into the right ways,our decisions are not just suggestions,they ought to be final”Lord Bernerd said which made Matt lash out.

“I am your king and whatever I say is final”Matt roared which made the men all go quiet.They were very displeased with how Matt had insisted but had no choice but to comply,afterall he’s the king and they are just consorts.

Rose smiles as she watches the man say nothing no more.The audacity of power thrills her.She couldn’t wait to give out orders just like Jasmine had did in the past.The first thing she plans to do is to get rid of Jasmine’s things in the house,she had longed to do that when she sees her things were yet to be moved away from the queen’s room.

“We will have the wedding preparation and set a date you find suitable”Matt said calmly this time.

“Okay your highness”The men said while bowing their heads.Lord Bernerd looks the most unsatisfied among them.He glares at Rose from the corner of his eyes when he sees how happy she was to be favored by the king.

‘Sly fox’Lord Bernerd had thought.He hates Jasmine’s blood line as he sees all of them as bad fruits who do not fit the role of being a royal.

“You are dismissed”Matt said and left with Rose holding on to his arm.

“This is getting out of hand”Lord Bernerd said to others after Matt had left the room.The other councilors nods in agreement.

“We can’t let the evil siblings toy with the throne anymore,we have to find a way to stop this”Lord Bernerd said none of the others agreed anymore.They wouldn’t want to disobey Matt’s orders.

“You fools”Lord Bernard said angrily and gets up to leave.The others left one after the other too after discussing a little about the announcement Matt made.Lord Bernerd had always wanted his own daughter as the queen so he is against any one else that Matt decides to chose as a queen.He had been against Jasmine’s also but his words isn’t really relevant to Matt to be followed.
