Chapter 11
Aurora's POV
“Aurora, wake up!”
I felt something tearing my body. I opened my eyes slowly. I saw Dante standing beside me. “What’s wrong?”
“Your father and mother are coming,” Dante answered.
“What do they want to do?” I asked lazily. Yesterday I really hoped they would come here to pick me up but what my mother said yesterday made me lazy.
“Meet them! They are your parents.” Dante told me.
“Hmm, yes.”
I got up from my sleep and gathered my soul that was still carried away by sleep. I went to the living room and sure enough my father and mother were there. I still remember what my mother said yesterday that disappointed me.
“I heard you’re pregnant, Aurora. Congratulations,” said my mother.
I smiled lopsidedly. “Is this what you expected, mom?”
“Well, of course I’m happy if I’ll be a grandmother soon.”
My mother’s drama is so funny. Even though this marriage was also forced. I was still silent there. Dante was also there and I don't know what he was thinking.
"Maybe she's not in a good mood, mom. Understandably, she just got pregnant," Dante said as if to cover up my annoyance at my mother.
"Yes, I understand. Maybe she's shocked because of her marriage but I think she's happy with you," my mother replied.
I looked away. Lazy with what was in front of me. I didn't hate my mother, I just kept my distance from her.
Our conversation didn't last long because my father also had to go home because he had business. My mother hugged me and whispered to me, "Aurora, you can hate me but see later if you can be happy by Dante's side."
I just kept quiet without answering my mother's words. Well, that was much better because going against parents wasn't allowed either.
I took my mother and father home until we reached the front of this house. I sighed. I didn't think about what my mother said earlier. What was clear was that I just wanted to be a good mother. Indeed, my mother was a great woman for me. I also do not deny that before I got married, my mother was the one I could always rely on.
"Why are you being cold to your parents?" Dante asked. He was by my side now.
"I don't know."
I was unable to answer at length, besides, he didn't need to know.
"Be nice to your parents while they are still around. I will not limit that. Now come in!"
I walked behind Dante. If I think about it, the man who became my husband is indeed handsome and also responsible. He did not reprimand me when my parents were around. He reprimanded me when my parents came home and in a soft voice.
"Dante." I called my husband.
He immediately turned his head and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Why did your attitude change? Yesterday you were so arrogant and harsh to me. Why have you changed now? Is it because I am pregnant with your child? Will you divorce me after I give birth?"
I asked a series of questions. So that he could answer and I would not be curious anymore.
“Come in first! I’ll answer later.”
Dante invited me to sit together in the living room. Well, just like earlier when I sat with my parents. I was ready to listen to Dante’s explanation now.
“Are you curious why I changed? Don’t you know that I’m like this? I’m being strict with you so that you stay by my side. I’ve made sure of all your backgrounds including the relationship between your boyfriend and your best friend. Don’t you now know about their affair behind your back? I know you have high ideals. I won’t stop you. Prepare yourself tomorrow because your supervisor will come to this house.”
I was stunned by Dante’s last words. “What do you mean?”
“Well, I’ve sent people to follow and find out about you so I already know everything about you,” Dante explained.
“Then why can’t you find my sister if you can do whatever you want?” I was indeed curious.
“Your sister went abroad. That’s a bit difficult for me. I also don't know why her left our wedding."
I saw Dante's face change to a little sad. Maybe he didn't want my sister to leave and they didn't get married.
“Okay, thank you for saving me from Robert. I will take care of the child in my womb.”
“That’s good then.”
He then left me. I also went to the kitchen because I was hungry. I still couldn’t believe that my thesis supervisor would come here tomorrow. Hm, but I also didn’t doubt Dante’s words because I was sure that what He said was usually true.
*
The next day. I had prepared myself for the arrival of my thesis supervisor. I don’t know what will happen later, but I have prepared all the files for me to do the guidance. Next month is the graduation schedule, I want to join the graduation next month. I don’t want to wait until next year. I don’t want to waste the opportunity.
Dante had also gone to the office. He also didn’t forget to rub my stomach and kiss my forehead before he left. I felt like I had become a full wife. But do I deserve this? I don’t know, I just want to do my best.
Exactly at nine in the morning I had a guest. Well, it was Mr. Rey, my thesis supervisor. But not only that, he didn't come alone but with my two other lecturers. Why did they all come here? Didn't Dante say it was only my thesis supervisor?
