Chapter 82

Aurora's POV
After a few songs, we decided to play a simple game around the campfire. We played charades—one person would stand up and give clues, while the others would try to guess the word. The game added to the fun of the night, and all the laughter that was heard gave it a very warm atmosphere.
In the midst of the cheerful atmosphere, I felt how precious this moment was. All the troubles and hardships that I had gone through felt like they were swept away by the presence of family. Once again, I was grateful to be able to spend time with them, creating memories that would be etched in all of our memories.
As I enjoyed the snacks we had brought—some cookies and snacks—I thought of my mother, and how she always taught us the meaning of togetherness. In every laugh and joy that night, it felt like she was there among us, watching us proudly.
Before the night ended, I invited all the children to sit closer, looking up at the stars in the sky. “We can always look up at the night sky, and remember how much this togetherness means,” I said. “Even though someone we love has passed away, that love and beautiful memories will always live on in us.”
The children nodded, and I could see that they understood the meaning of my words. In the silence of the night, as the stars shone, we embraced each other, feeling the love and warmth between us. That night was a reminder that even though life is full of challenges, the beautiful moments with the people we love are the most precious.
When I saw the joy on the children's faces, and the togetherness between Dante and I, the feeling of happiness penetrated my heart. Gratitude enveloped me, as if taking me back to those beautiful moments that were irreplaceable. In the quiet atmosphere of the night, accompanied by a burning campfire and twinkling stars in the sky, all worries and sadness seemed to be erased, bringing new hope into my life.
The joy of the children echoed in my ears as they laughed and joked, making my heart tremble with deep love. Seeing them interact with each other cheerfully and support each other made me proud to be their mother. Every laugh, every innocent look full of happiness, made me commit to continue to care for them and create happy memories.
In the quiet of the night, I stole a glance at Dante. He was smiling, his eyes sparkling as he watched the children play. Seeing his smile made me feel at ease and at ease. I remembered all the challenges we had faced before, but this night confirmed how supportive we were of each other. We built strength together, and in this togetherness, I felt like we could face anything that came our way.
“I will never get tired of moments like this,” I told Dante, my voice full of sincerity. “This is what matters most—that we are together and that we complete each other.”
He nodded, reaching for my hand and holding it tightly. “I feel the same way, Aurora. Thank you for making our time meaningful, despite the storms we have to weather. It’s moments like these that give us the strength to keep going.”
That night was a reminder to us that despite the sadness and loss that has come our way, love is the force that can carry us through any obstacle. We have gathered precious memories that are woven together in happiness.
As the fire began to fade and the children looked tired, but their faces still radiated happiness. We decided to go home and prepare ourselves for a quiet night. In the embrace of my family, I felt peaceful and hopeful, determined to build a brighter future for the children and us as a family.
At the end of this night, I promised myself to continue to cherish every moment, to celebrate every little thing, and to make room for the love and beautiful memories of my mother, while still looking to the future with optimism. Together, we are an unmatched force, and I am confident that we will overcome all the challenges ahead by supporting and loving each other.
“Mom, can we come here again?” Roline asked hopefully.
“Of course, Roline. We will come back another time. This is the beginning of many beautiful moments that we will create together,” I replied as I hugged her closer.
With feelings of happiness and love, I felt confident that the next step would bring more happiness to our family. This vacation not only provided a break, but also instilled various values that would continue to strengthen us as a unit.
As I grabbed my phone to check some things on social media, I didn’t realize that Dante glanced at me. “Who are you texting?” he asked curiously.
“Uh, no, I’m just checking social media,” I replied with a smile, trying to appear casual. There was nothing I wanted to show more at that moment than our happiness together. I wanted to make sure that all of our attention was focused on each other, not on outside things.
Dante nodded, but I could see the doubt in his eyes. “Oh, okay. Ask if there’s anything you want to talk about,” he said, turning his attention back to the tired but happy kids, who were still spending some time on the beach.
I tried to give my full attention to the conversation and laughter. Social media can be a distraction at times, and I wanted to make time for my family; I wanted to spend every moment together. But, naturally, the little tensions that had arisen made me realize that our journey through difficult times sometimes carried remnants of doubt.
While enjoying the moments together, I was determined to strengthen the communication between us. I didn’t want anything to disrupt the bond of trust that we had built, especially amidst the busyness and setbacks that we had gone through.
