Chapter 47

Aurora's POV
On the other hand, I had to face the fact that my husband, Dante, was still in the hospital. The days in the hospital never ended. Every time I visited him, there was a hope that settled inside me. At that time the doctor gave me the news, “Your husband has hand movements, but there is no significant activity yet.”
I took a deep breath, trying to comprehend the news. Even though there was some progress, why couldn’t it be sooner? “Doc, can he go home soon? What needs to be done to make him recover quickly?” I asked anxiously.
The doctor nodded, “We will continue to monitor his progress. The recovery process can vary for each individual. Most importantly, emotional support from the family is also very influential. When the right time comes, there is a good chance for recovery.”
My heart trembled at the doctor’s words. “I really hope he wakes up soon and can go home,” I said, my voice shaking. Imagining moments with him, taking care of all our children together, made me miss him even more.
When I returned home after visiting the hospital, a feeling of emptiness continued to envelop me. No Molly, no news, and no Dante. Facing all of this alone was very difficult. However, one of the things that gave me strength during this difficult time were my two little babies.
As I fed them formula, I tried to stay positive. “Mommy will try for you, my babies. We will get through this together,” I said, patting their heads, trying to give them love even in the worst circumstances.
While praying for Roline to come back and Dante to wake up soon, I tried to take care of myself and keep our babies healthy. In this panic, I knew that hope was very important, and I would fight to bring it back into our lives.
This will all pass, and when that day comes, I will be grateful for every opportunity to be reunited as a family.
While I was still asleep, suddenly my cell phone rang. Still rubbing my eyes, I tried to understand who was calling. When I saw the name on the screen, my heart beat faster. “Hello, yes, what’s wrong?” I asked, my voice full of hope.
“Your husband is awake. He is looking for you. Can you come to the hospital now?” The voice on the other end of the phone gave me the news I had been waiting for.
I checked the clock and saw that it was already 6 am. “Yes, I will be there now,” I replied, excited and feeling new energy emerging inside me.
Without wasting any time, I immediately got ready, racing against time. After a long night's sleep, my heart was pounding with every step towards the hospital. The closer I got, the stronger the hope grew in me.
Upon arriving at the hospital, I rushed to Dante's ward. Both of them carried me with anxiety but full of hope. As soon as I entered the room, seeing him lying on the bed in a better condition than before made me feel relieved.
"Dante!" I shouted as if I had found an important part of my life that was missing. His weak but sincere smile made my heart tremble. "You're awake!" I exclaimed, approaching and taking his hand.
He nodded, smiling even though his face still looked tired. "Aurora... I was looking for you. How are you?" Dante asked, his voice soft but very meaningful.
I immediately told him everything. About Molly's presence, how Roline was taken away, and all the anxiety I had faced so far. "Molly took her away, and until now I don't know where she is," I said, repeating my words with emotions flooding my heart.
Dante's eyes widened slightly. “She took Roline? Why?” Dante asked, his voice full of curiosity and worry.
“I don’t know, honey. I just hope they’re safe wherever they are,” I replied, sweat and anxiety covering me.
He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them again. “We have to find them. We have to make sure Roline is safe,” he said firmly, trying to get up even though his physical condition was not yet fully recovered.
“Dante, you can’t move too hard right now. You better rest and let me take care of everything for now,” I said, placing my hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down.
He nodded slowly. “Okay, but we have to communicate with the authorities and find out where Molly and Roline are. You’re not alone, Aurora. We’ll find them together,” he replied with an encouraging assurance.
I felt the strength flowing through me, with him making me feel capable of facing all these challenges. In the midst of the problems that existed, every second that passed along this journey would be a new strength for us. We would fight to find Roline, united as a committed family.
With renewed vigor, I resolved to dig deeper to find Roline and make sure she was safe in my arms again—and with Dante, our hopes would soon come true.
Finally, one of the many problems that had been bothering my mind had been solved. Dante was awake and slowly getting better. I was relieved to see that, despite the post-accident care and therapy, he was making progress.
As I sat next to him in the hospital, he looked at me with concern. “You look thin,” he said, his tone of voice full of concern.
“Well, maybe you’re right,” I replied, smiling slightly. “It’s been stressful dealing with everything without you. I’ve had so much to deal with.”
Dante nodded, his expression serious. “I don’t want you to feel burdened. You shouldn’t be alone in this. We should be going through this together.”
Hearing his words filled my heart with hope. But the hard times apart still lingered. “Yeah, I know, but when you were lying here, it felt like everything was coming at once. Roline being taken away, the stress of everything that was happening… it was so stressful, honey.”
