Chapter 14
Aurora's POV
Either she was teasing me or it was sincere from her heart. Even though she knew that I didn't want to get married at a young age.
“Yes, Molly.”
I don’t know what to say to Molly. Honestly, I’m still confused. Moreover, she and Dante had just chatted together, making me even more confused. I don’t know what they were talking about.
“Aurora, let’s eat now! Dante, Molly, let’s eat together!” My mother invited us all to eat.
I don’t know why I feel strange with Molly. Even though some time ago I happily welcomed her to marry Dante. I helped a lot with her wedding preparations, from the dress, invitations, and also the decorations, but all of that turned against me. I also looked at Molly and looked for the differences between her and before.
Molly usually always held Dante’s hand at home and now there was a distance between them. Even Dante was the one who put his arm around my shoulder to go to the dining room.
I felt awkward having to get food for Dante because at home I did that for him.
“Aurora, don’t you want to get me some rice?”
I swallowed my saliva, it was Dante who asked.
I glanced at Molly, she was also eating comfortably without being disturbed.
"Okay." I also took rice for Dante as well as side dishes.
We didn't chat much at the dining table. We just finished our meal together and we sat in the living room again.
"Aurora, you don't need to worry that I will steal Dante from you. I have accepted Dante to marry you," said Molly.
Maybe she knew that I was a bit awkward towards her. "I didn't mean anything."
"Yes, just act normal. Don't feel too bad for me. Besides, I also know that you are building your household well. So believe me, I am also fine. One more thing, I will also go out of town. I am making a business with my friend from yesterday. So I will not disturb your household."
Molly tried to convince me that I didn't need to worry about her. Even so, I understand how she used to love the man who is now officially my husband. She always said that Dante was the one she loved the most besides our father. She also said that she couldn't live without Dante. But in an instant she said that everything was fine. I still couldn't believe it.
I smiled faintly. I didn't know what to answer.
"Oh yeah, I prepared a wedding gift for you guys. Here, take it! But open it at your house, okay!"
Molly gave me a box. The box felt very light. I was curious about what this was from the box but I followed her advice to open the box at home later.
"Molly, I'm sorry."
Molly smiled at me. "Sorry for what?"
"I know that you used to ..."
Before I finished saying what I wanted to say, she interrupted me first. "You don't need to think about what happened in the past because it's all over. Now let's continue our respective lives. Okay?"
I nodded slowly. Maybe this had indeed become our lifeline. I thought I would soon have a nephew, but I would be the one to give Molly a nephew. It was beyond my expectations.
It was eight o'clock at night. Dante asked me to go home. He hadn't changed his clothes yet so I had no other choice and I obeyed him.
"You guys be careful on the road!" Molly said.
I hugged her. I really missed her even though I was also confused about what to do.
Throughout the journey home, Dante was also silent. Maybe he was still thinking about Molly earlier. I also chose to be silent and the atmosphere was quite quiet in the car.
When I got home, I immediately changed my clothes because it was quite hot. I put the box from Molly on the table in the room. While Dante took a shower.
I sat on my bed and covered myself with a blanket. I still felt full from my mother's cooking earlier. Indeed, the servant's cooking here is also delicious, but compared to my mother's cooking, my mother's cooking is still much tastier.
Ah, I just got home from my mother's house and I miss her again.
“Dante,” I called him when he just got out of the bathroom.
“Yes? You haven’t slept yet?” He asked.
“Not yet. By the way, you met up with Molly again.”
I was confused about what to say.
“Yes, she is back. But my feelings for her are gone,” he answered.
I sighed. Even though he said that, why did I still have doubts? How could the feelings of two lovebirds that were so strong disappear in an instant?
“Yes, I’m sleepy, I want to sleep,” I said while pulling the blanket.
“Wait, Aurora. Do you really want to sleep?”
What does Dante mean? I just turned to him.
“Aurora said she gave you a gift, have you opened it?”
I shook my head, “not yet. Do you want to open it now?”
“Just open it. Maybe it means something to you.”
I got out of bed and took the box from Molly.
I brought it near Dante and pulled the ribbon on the box. It turned out that Molly’s gift was a pair of towels. Why did she give us towels? If you look at it, it was indeed from abroad. The towels were very soft. There was a letter in the box.
[Aurora, I love you as my young sister. You mean a lot to me. I don’t regret giving Dante to you. Trust me, he is a good man for you. I accept everything that happened. I give you these towels that I bought specially from abroad yesterday. Sorry if I surprised you but I can't say that I'm happy to see your marriage. Especially since you're going to have a child soon. I'm very happy about that.
Molly May.]
