Chapter 93

Aurora's POV
It has been almost a month since Dante has been immersed in his busy schedule, and I worry that he will not have enough time to rest and relax. “You have to take care of your health, Dante,” I say with concern when he finishes work and comes home late at night, more tired than usual.
Dante understood, and even though he smiled, I hoped he wouldn’t get sick again like he had a month ago. I remembered how hard it was, and I didn’t want us to go through those tough times again.
Dante nodded, but I could see the exhaustion in his face. Every time he came home, he seemed more tired, and it was very concerning. Even though he understood the importance of his job to our family, I couldn’t ignore the negative impact that the excessive stress was having on his physical and emotional health.
It felt like every day was a new struggle. In his busy schedule, I felt a distance growing between us. I wanted to make sure that our family stayed strong despite the difficult circumstances. On one hand, I wanted to continue to be supportive, but on the other, I felt helpless when I saw him struggling alone.
“Maybe we should plan a weekend to relax, just the two of us and the kids,” I suggested, hoping it would be a break from the tiring routine. “We could go to the park or have a little picnic in the backyard.”
Dante seemed to think for a moment. “That’s a great idea. We need to take some time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. I will try to organize my schedule so that I can be home more.”
Hearing his promise made me feel a little more at ease. Reminding each other about the importance of rest and time together would help us get through this. Family comes first, and we need to remind each other of that.
“One more important thing,” I said, looking at her deeply, “We need to share our feelings, especially when something is bothering us. Don’t hesitate to talk to me about the burdens you are feeling.”
He nodded, and I could see the understanding in his eyes. “Thank you, Aurora. I will try to do better and not let work tear us apart.”
With that understanding and mutual love, I felt more prepared to face any challenges that lay ahead. Strengthening our bond would be our support when hard times came. In my heart, I prayed that we could fight through the pressure together, and always find a way to keep our family in a state of love and togetherness.
Dante’s problems had not been resolved for almost a month. I, who was worried, didn’t know what to do. Dante also worked overtime every day and even on weekends didn’t have time for our children. ‘’You have to take care of your health, Dante,” I said.
Dante understood. I hope he is not as sick as he was a month ago.
“Mommy, why doesn’t daddy have time for us?” Roline asked with an innocent and curious face. That question made my heart feel stabbed. As a mother, I really want to give them time and happiness, but the reality we face is very different.
“Your daddy is working, honey. He is trying hard to make sure everything is okay for all of us,” I answered softly, trying to explain in a way they could understand. “When he’s done, we can take your daddy to play again, okay?”
Hearing my explanation, I hoped Roline and her siblings could understand that their father was doing his best for our family. However, when I saw the disappointment in Roline’s eyes, I felt like I had to do more to make them feel loved.
When Roline and her siblings started playing in the living room, I tried to let them play while simultaneously raising their spirits and joy, making the house full of laughter again. “Let’s draw a picture for Daddy!” I exclaimed, and they all immediately became excited.
We drew simple pictures of the family to liven up the atmosphere. Seeing them laughing and chatting happily, my heart was slightly healed. This was a moment that I made sure could make them feel closer and happier even though their father was busy.
Towards evening, I invited the children to wait for Dante to come home. When he finally arrived home, the children immediately ran to greet him with hugs. “Dad! We made a picture for you!” Ronald exclaimed, showing off their work.
Seeing the children’s laughter and joy made Dante smile widely, even though he was tired. In this moment, I prayed that the children could feel that even though their father was very busy, our love would always unite us. With hope and love, we could overcome any challenges that came our way.
“Aurora, I have an invitation to dinner tonight from one of my colleagues. I would like to invite you and our children,” Dante said suddenly, surprising me and making me feel a little touched.
Hearing this invitation in the evening was very encouraging amidst the rather uncomfortable atmosphere due to the problems he was facing. Maybe, this opportunity could ease his burden a little and give us some time to relax together as a family.
“Woah, that’s a great idea! I’ll definitely be ready!” I replied enthusiastically. A sense of enthusiasm began to grow within us. Finally, there was a chance to have fun together outside and leave all the burdens behind for a while.
Dante seemed happy to hear that response. On the way to dinner, I imagined how the atmosphere would go. We would go to a fancy restaurant, creating a new and fun experience, which would definitely help us to rebuild our connection and get in a better mood.
“Have you arranged anything for the food?” I asked, curious about the ideas he had in mind.
“Yes, I already chose the place. The restaurant is very famous for its Italian cuisine, and they have a warm atmosphere that is suitable for families,” Dante replied confidently.
