Chapter 55

Aurora's POV
With renewed vigor, I prayed again, asking God to guide us and reunite our family. With hope in my soul, I promised myself to keep searching for answers, never giving up. Someday, Roline would return, and when she did, we would fill the void, re-carving the happiness our family deserved.
Finally, even though I was still awake, I fought the anxiety, cuddling the children who were sleeping beside me. In that calm atmosphere, I hoped to find peace, knowing that I would continue to fight for them. And hopefully, somehow, Roline would also feel this love and hope wherever she was.
The next day, after returning from the hotel with the holiday spirit still in the air, I entered the house and felt a different atmosphere. In the living room, there was someone I didn't expect. "Who is that?" I asked curiously while holding Roland in my arms.
When I went deeper, I was surprised to see a figure standing there—Molly, my sister. But then I felt something was wrong. Why was she here alone?
“Molly!” I shouted, feeling a mixture of happiness and disappointment. “Where’s my Roline?” I walked over to her, shaking my sister anxiously, hoping for good news about my missing daughter.
“Yes. She’s safe with me,” Molly replied, her voice calm, but my heart quivering with tension. But as she continued, her words made me pause. “I’ll give her to you, but on one condition. I have to marry Dante too.”
My body stiffened instantly, and I had to fight off the anxiety that was coming. The statement was not only surprising, but also confusing. “You’re kidding, right?” I asked, trying to process what she had just said.
“No, I’m serious. This is a choice that has to be made,” Molly said firmly. There was a firmness in her voice that indicated she wasn’t kidding.
My anger and despair mixed together. “Molly, you took Roline! What makes you think you have the right to make this decision?” I replied, my anxiety mixed with disbelief.
“Because I know that you can’t see Roline and still be together not just as a mother, but as a sister. I’m struggling under the pressure and I want the two of us to take care of her together,” Molly directed, as if to reassure me.
My heart was quivering between pain and deep affection. Roline was my daughter and there was no way I could stop her from coming back. However, this proposal was dragging me into a painful dilemma. On one hand, I missed Roline so much. On the other, I didn’t know whether to believe this offer.
“I have to think about this,” I said, my voice shaking as if breaking the silence. “I want to know where Roline is and make sure she’s safe. If she’s with you, I can’t even believe this.”
Meanwhile, all that was left in my heart was the hope that Roline was okay. No matter what, I would never stand by and let my daughter go again. Not at all.
Molly looked at me with a hopeful gaze, as if sensing the heavy burden on my heart.
“Come on, let’s talk about this. We can find a better solution together. The most important thing is Roline.”
With all the mixed feelings inside me, I knew it was time to talk and negotiate. The hope of reuniting, even if it all seemed complicated and difficult, had to be there. And in that resilience, I was determined to protect the love for my child and maintain our family bond.
“No, I have reported you to the police and the police will probably arrest you soon, Molly,” Dante said firmly, his voice showing determination.
Hearing that, Molly’s face turned cold. “Oh really? That means you are sacrificing your child to leave forever,” she replied in a mocking tone, as if she did not care about the consequences of all her actions.
My heart trembled hearing that. Roline was everything to me, and feeling trapped in this dangerous game was painful. “No. That can’t happen,” I said with determination. “Dante, marry Molly for Roline!” I pleaded, my voice shaking with vulnerability.
Molly looked surprised by my statement, and I could see the worry crossing her face. However, for Dante, it was an unusual request. “Aurora, are you serious? You don’t have to sacrifice yourself like that,” he said, trying to hold back his emotions.
“But we can’t let Roline go! If marrying Molly is the way to get her back, maybe that’s the way to go,” I replied, my cool air starting to set in.
Molly took the opportunity to sharpen her proposal. “Look, if you marry me, I can guarantee that Roline will be here. We can be a family. This is a chance to make things right,” she pleaded in a convincing tone, but I felt a sharp twinge of disbelief in my heart.
“That’s a deal we can’t believe, Molly,” Dante replied firmly. “Roline will never be a bargaining chip. If you really want to give my daughter back, do it the right way.”
My heart was in turmoil. The situation was so complicated. I wanted to believe all Molly’s kind words, but I had heard that things didn’t work out that way. In the tense atmosphere, the anxiety returned to thinking about Roline, and how our lives would feel without her.
On one hand, I missed my daughter and wanted to see her with all my heart. On the other hand, I couldn’t let a dishonest marriage ruin everything. “However, we need to find another solution, not in the form of sacrificing ourselves or manipulating the marriage,” I said, trying to remain rational amidst my anxiety.
Dante nodded, looking at me with stern features. “We will do whatever it takes to bring Roline home, but not in this way. We need a plan.”
Molly, on the other hand, felt his desperation. She felt desperate and tried to maintain control. “So, you think you can save your child without considering all the aspects? This is all for Roline, remember that,” she said, her voice full of impatience.
