Chapter 32

Aurora's POV
Upon arrival at the hospital, we went straight to the emergency room. Quickly, the medical staff checked my condition and took me to the treatment room. There was an air of anxiety, but suddenly I felt lucky to have Dante by my side, his support giving me a sense of security amidst the uncertainty.
“Everything will be okay,” he said, holding my hand tightly. I could feel his presence giving me strength and comfort in this difficult moment.
After a while of waiting, the doctor arrived to do the examination. He explained what would be done, and although I was still worried, the doctor’s care and explanation helped me feel calmer.
With hope, I waited for the results of the examination, hoping that this was just a small problem that could be overcome. In my heart, I knew that no matter what happened, I was not alone. With Dante, I was ready to face any challenges that might come.
“You’re just tired, Ma’am. Have you just been on a long trip?” the doctor asked as he reviewed the reports and checked my body.
I nodded, giving an honest answer. “Yes, Doc. I just went on a long trip to find my sister,” I replied, trying to explain the situation that had brought me here.
Dante, beside me, smiled at me, his expression conveying support and reassurance. It was as if he was telling me that everything would be okay and that I was strong. His praise and encouragement made me feel more confident, even though my body was currently feeling tired and uncomfortable.
The doctor nodded, seemingly understanding what I was going through. “Traveling long distances while pregnant can be tiring, especially if you haven’t had enough rest. Make sure to maintain your stamina and don’t push yourself too hard,” he said in a reassuring tone.
“Thank you, Doc,” I said. A sense of relief washed over me when I heard that my condition wasn’t too serious. “I’ll try to take better care of my health.”
The doctor gave me some advice about getting enough rest and avoiding strenuous activities for a while. “If you feel any unusual symptoms or the cramps persist, come back soon. We’re here to help,” he explained before leaving.
After the doctor left, I looked at Dante, and he winked at me as if to say, “See? Everything’s fine.”
“Thank you for bringing me here, Dante. I feel a lot calmer now,” I said, grateful for his supportive presence.
“No problem, Aurora. That’s what friends are supposed to do,” he replied, a warm smile spreading across his face. “The most important thing right now is that you rest and take care of your health. We can focus on finding Molly later when you’re better.”
I felt grateful to have someone like Dante by my side—someone who cared about me and cared about my well-being. “I will. Once I get home, I’ll take some time to rest,” I replied with determination.
In a much better mood, we finally left the hospital. I knew that no matter what, with the support around me, I could face any obstacle on this journey—including the quest to find Molly again.
After leaving the hospital, Dante offered to take me to a restaurant. I was a little hungry at the time, but then, I felt more like I wanted the warmth and comfort of home.
“I’d like to eat your cooking. Is that okay?” I asked, wondering if he would feel burdened by my request.
Dante seemed to think for a moment, but the smile on his face made me sure that he didn’t mind. “Of course, Aurora! That’s what I want to do. I’ll make a special meal for you,” he replied enthusiastically.
“I’ll make something simple,” He said, feeling excited.
“But thank you for offering to go to a restaurant. It’s nice to take a break and enjoy a meal together,” I said.
We got out of the car and headed to our house. When we arrived there, Dante immediately started preparing the ingredients. Although my stomach still felt a little uncomfortable, I was excited to wait for Dante’s cooking.
I offered to help. “Can I help you?” I asked, eyeing the ingredients on the table.
“Yes, please cut the vegetables. We can make something simple, like stir-fried vegetables and rice,” He said, feeling relieved that I was willing to help Him.
A few minutes later, we were working together in the kitchen. It felt good to share this moment, even though our situation was far from perfect. Laughter and small talk between us made the atmosphere even warmer.
“I can’t wait to try your cooking,” I said with a smile, his eyes showing enthusiasm that made Him even more excited.
After cooking and finishing everything, we finally sat down at the dining table with a simple but delicious meal. When I took my first bite, it was so satisfying.
“This is delicious, Dante! You’ll be a great chef,” I complimented proudly.
“Thank you! It’s all thanks to fresh ingredients and a little cooperation,” he replied with a smile.
Simple moments like this gave me a sense of normalcy and happiness amidst all the hardships we were going through. And as we enjoyed our meal together, I felt even more grateful to have someone by my side who was willing to support me unconditionally.
One by one, all the anxiety and fatigue slowly faded away, replaced by a sense of closeness and hope for a better future.
