Chapter 66

Aurora's POV
“My life is a testament to strength and resilience, and this is the greatest gift to all the people I love,” I said to myself, grateful that at such a crucial time, everything came together.
Once the ceremony was over, we celebrated with a family lunch, where laughter and jokes filled the atmosphere again. We shared happy moments and I wanted each of my children to know that they were a big part of this journey.
“Mommy promises to always fight for you,” I told them. “Today is proof that we can achieve anything if we work together.”
Looking ahead, I know that there are many challenges and journeys ahead of us. However, with the love and support of Dante and the children, I feel ready to carry on with all our dreams and hopes, building an even better future together. As I embraced them all, a sense of satisfaction and happiness filled my heart, and I knew that this was a new beginning for our family.
Tonight, I was excited to celebrate my graduation with my family. We had planned to eat at a nice restaurant, and I couldn’t wait to share this moment of happiness with them. Having made a reservation beforehand, a sense of excitement filled me as we arrived at the restaurant.
However, as soon as we entered the restaurant with its warm and elegant ambiance, I was surprised to find that the owner was Robert, my ex-boyfriend. Surprised and surprised, I felt a mixture of nostalgia and awkwardness rise within me.
“Aurora?” Robert looked at me, seemingly surprised to see me. Memories of the days we had spent together mixed with the current atmosphere.
“Robert, I didn’t expect to meet you here,” I replied, trying to hold back the awkwardness that arose.
We chatted for a while, there was hesitation and awkwardness between us. Conversations about the past and the dreams we had had were vaguely in my mind. It was undeniable that even though we had each parted ways, those memories were not completely gone.
“How are you?” he asked, seemingly sincere. “Congratulations on graduating, of course.”
“Thank you, I’m so grateful to have made it this far,” I replied, smiling gratefully. But the awkwardness still hung over our conversation.
Robert then told me about his life. “I was married to Laura… but we got divorced. She took our child with her,” he said, a trace of sadness evident on his face. Hearing Laura’s name made me feel strange. Laura was my former best friend, long before everything changed. It was an odd combination, even more complicated.
“Oh, I… I’m sorry to hear that,” I said, feeling genuine sympathy. Although our past was a fond memory, I knew that life went on and her decision was certainly not an easy one.
“Life is full of surprises, huh?” Robert said with a bittersweet smile. “What about you? What are you going to do next?”
I explained my plans and dreams for the future to build a better life for my family. Looking into Robert’s eyes for a moment, I could feel a sense of understanding—although our paths in life were different, there was a realization that we had each struggled in our own ways.
We talked for a while, and when we parted, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. This meeting may have been awkward, but I felt like it was a chance to take a moment to reflect.
As I turned to spend the evening celebrating my graduation with my family, the anxiety faded. My family was the most important thing, and as I returned to the table, looking at the loving faces of Dante and my three children, it all felt like it was meant to be.
The evening was filled with joy and laughter, and I was so grateful to be able to share my courage and happiness with them. Every step I took was toward building a better future, and with my family by my side, I would never be alone on this journey.
As we sat down at the table with a mouth-watering meal, Dante felt the stiffness that had remained from my encounter with Robert. “Who was that?” Dante asked, looking at me curiously.
“Robert,” I answered simply, but there was a brightness in my gaze. “He’s my ex-boyfriend. But I’ve forgiven him for his past, so there’s nothing to worry about.”
Dante seemed a little more relaxed, though his frown was still visible. “It’s good that you’ve come to terms with it all. We all have a past,” Dante said, giving his full support.
“I know. Besides, what matters now is the present and my happy future with you and the kids,” I continued, reaching out to take his hand. Remembering the struggles and joys we went through to get to this point, it felt very touching.
We started eating with great enthusiasm. I invited two babysitters—they have been working with us all this time and love the kids very much. Their presence in the family made the atmosphere even more cheerful. They were also happy to be able to join in celebrating this special moment.
While eating, we shared stories, laughter, and happiness. Roland and Ronald ran around the table, occasionally disturbing Cherry who was sitting in the high chair. Roline looked more cheerful tonight, laughing at her older siblings’ antics. Seeing all this made me feel lucky.
“Everything feels perfect,” I said, smiling at Dante, who smiled back. Just in a simple situation like this, I felt surrounded by their sincere love. These were the precious moments I had dreamed of: celebrating success while surrounded by my loved ones.
The evening ended with a moment of sharing hopes and dreams. Everyone in the family had the opportunity to talk about what they wanted for the future. Seeing the enthusiasm of my children, little children with big dreams, made me confident in the happiness and progress we were creating together.
