Chapter 13
Aurora's POV
Ting.
I heard my cell phone ring. I immediately took it and it turned out to be a message from my mother.
[Aurora, how are you today?]
Oh my, my mother's message immediately made me teary. I was just thinking about her but it didn't take hours for her to send me a message and ask how I was. Forgive me for being a bad daughter, mom.
I immediately got up and got ready to go to my mother's house. But when I was in front of the door I saw Dante coming home.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"I'm going to my mother's house," I answered.
"Why the rush? I'll take you now."
Dante immediately got into the car and so did I. This time he didn't invite his driver and he drove himself. Not long after, we arrived at my parents' house. My mother was already in front of the house, as if to welcome my arrival.
"You came, Aurora?" My mother asked.
I immediately hugged my mother. I felt quite guilty towards her. I cried, wetting my mother's clothes. "I'm sorry, mom."
"Yes, it's okay. You need to adjust yourself."
My mother invited me into the house. I was surprised because there was a figure in my parents' house. "Molly, are you back?"
"Yes, Aurora. I'm back," Molly answered casually. As if there was no regret or even fear of meeting me and Dante.
"How come, Molly?" Apparently I wasn't the only one who was curious about why Molly was there because as far as I know, Dante can know where Molly is if she is in the country.
"Yes, you must have thought that I was abroad, right? I already knew that you were safe looking for me. But I who already know you well, I am not inferior to you. So I did register to go abroad and I told my friend to go. I also know that you two are getting married.”
I still don’t understand what Molly said. What did she mean? “So why did you run away, Molly?”
“It happened because of your mother, Dante. Your mother kept intimidating me so that I could leave you. I couldn’t stand it and I finally decided to leave on our wedding day. I’m tired because your mother kept saying things that I don’t understand. I also don’t know how I should tell you that I can’t because I also love you.”
That was Molly’s explanation to us. Dante beside me was also silent. As if he was contemplating what my sister said. I also still don’t understand what Molly meant about intimidation from Dante’s mother.
“Why didn’t you tell me, Molly? Why did you run away?” Dante was curious why Molly left and didn’t want to maintain their marriage.
“Sorry, Dante. I can’t stand your mother,” Molly looked gloomy. Is Dante’s mother that bad?”
“Enough already. Don’t make a big deal out of it. Let’s sit together first and don’t argue. Let’s finish this properly,” said my mother.
I, who had been standing, also felt tired and had cramps in my legs.
I was still confused about what to do but Dante’s attitude showed Molly how comfortable our marriage was and he didn’t regret marrying me. Moreover, Dante also guided me to sit down and gave me a little massage on my legs as if he knew I was tired.
“Dante, can we talk?” Molly asked.
“Talk!” Dante replied.
“But I want to talk to you alone.”
I don’t know why I was a little jealous when Molly wanted to talk to Dante alone.
“Please talk here so that all your family knows,” Dante replied. At least Dante still cared about my feelings.
“No, Dante. I want to talk to you alone. Please!”
I lowered my head. I couldn’t forbid anyone either. So I chose to remain silent.
“Aurora, can I talk to your sister for a moment?” I was surprised because Dante asked me instead.
“Hm, okay, go ahead!” There was no other choice
Dante even asked my permission to chat with my sister for a moment.
They went to the living room and my mother approached me. “Everything will be fine, Aurora.”
As if she understood my worries, my mother immediately calmed me down.
“Do you have any complaints about your pregnancy?” My mother asked.
“Nothing, Mom. When I didn’t know I was pregnant, I felt weak because I didn’t eat any carbohydrates at all. But now I’m fine.”
“Thank God. I hope so too. I cooked spinach for you earlier. It’s good for your pregnancy. We’ll eat together soon, okay?”
I nodded. I think even though I’m married, my mother always understands me. But I’m also curious about Molly’s arrival. “Mom.”
“Hm, what’s wrong?”
“Is what Molly said true?” I asked. I was a little doubtful about her earlier.
“Well, I don’t know if she’s telling the truth or not, but it could be true. But she accepts it if you’re the one who marries Dante,” my mother explained.
I sighed. It wasn’t that I was afraid that Molly would take Dante from me, but I felt like I was the one who took Dante from Molly.
Not long after, Molly and Dante came back to me.
"I'm happy because soon I will have a cute niece, Aurora," said Molly.
