Chapter 37

Dante's POV
I hope that with all this effort, Aurora can feel more at ease and recover quickly, for both of them—for us and for the babies who will soon join us.
I had booked a very comfortable room with all the amenities because it was important to me that Aurora felt very comfortable here. If she was comfortable, I would feel at ease and it would be easier to support her. Watching Aurora eat heartily, even with my help, was a sight I was very grateful for. There was something so nice about watching her slowly recover after everything that had happened.
As she pumped, I couldn’t help but smile. It was such a beautiful moment—watching her do something so natural and important. It had been a long time since I’d held that soft object, and seeing Aurora do it made me feel how much this meant to us.
“Why are you smiling at me?” Aurora asked, feeling a little uncomfortable with my warm gaze.
“Sorry, I’m just fascinated by how well you’re doing as a mother,” I replied, trying not to sound too serious. “You look so beautiful and energetic when you do this.”
Aurora snorted, hoping to ease her irritation, but her smile was unavoidable. “It’s not easy, but I really want to give our children the best,” she replied, still in an awkward but measured tone.
“And you’re doing amazing, honey,” I encouraged her. “Not only did you deliver our babies with amazing strength, but now you’re also breastfeeding them. I’m so proud of you.”
She smiled weakly and nodded, seemingly trying to accept the compliment. Watching us in this moment, it felt like a deep connection was building between us. This was all part of a larger journey, one that would bring us closer together.
We chatted warmly as Aurora continued to pump, building a more confident atmosphere. Every moment we spent in this room was part of our little business of becoming parents, and I was ready to do whatever it took to support Aurora and find comfort in this journey. Nothing could be more precious to us than seeing these two paths come together; love, family, and hope.
Seeing Aurora’s face suddenly turn gloomy made me feel worried. “What’s wrong, Aurora?” I asked, trying to figure out what was bothering her.
Tears began to flow down her cheeks as she looked at me with longing and dissatisfaction. “I feel like I failed to be a perfect mother. I couldn’t give birth naturally; instead, I had a C-section,” she answered, her voice shaking.
I approached Aurora, holding her hand gently. “Aurora, you didn’t fail. You did something amazing—giving birth to three healthy babies. The process may not have been what you expected, but the most important thing is that you and our children are safe.”
“But, I feel like I couldn’t provide a perfect experience for them from the start,” she said, trying to push back the tears that were flowing. “I wanted to do my best, but now…”
“Aurora,” I said, trying to ease the tension. “Nothing is perfect in this life. Every parent has their own path. What you did was the best you could do in this situation. Having a C-section is not a sign that you’re not good enough. You gave them life, and that’s all that matters.”
She took a deep breath, seeming to take in my words. “But I’m worried that they won’t feel enough love from me. What will they think about the way I gave birth?”
“They won’t think that, honey. Our babies won’t remember how they were born. What they will remember is how much you loved them every millisecond after they were born,” I replied confidently. “You’ll be a great mother. Together we’ll build beautiful memories and fill their lives with love.”
Aurora looked at me, and I could see that she was trying to believe my words. “You’re right. I need to be more confident and focus on what I can give them,” she said firmly, though her voice was still shaking slightly.
“That’s right! That’s the first step. We’ll be a team, and every experience—good or bad—will strengthen our bond as a family. We’ll do this together, Aurora. You’re not alone,” I said, reassuring her.
In the silence between us, I felt hope and love begin to grow stronger. Together, we would go through this journey—each challenge would be met with enthusiasm. And although the first step might feel hard, I believed that we could get through it by supporting each other.
“Oh yes, I have prepared two babysitters to look after them. I think you need a companion to take care of our three children. You are also in recovery, and they are experienced. Your mother will also accompany them after they return home,” I said, happy to share this calm atmosphere.
I wanted to make sure Aurora felt supported and had everything she needed. My mother-in-law had also said that the help would be very helpful. With three babies at once, I knew that taking care of everything alone would not be easy, especially for Aurora who was still recovering.
“Thank you, Dante,” Aurora replied, looking more relieved and grateful. “At least I don’t feel burdened with all this. I just want to make sure they get the best care.”
“And they definitely will. With the help of an experienced nanny and the support of all of us, we can give them the care they need. You don’t have to worry about all those details,” I said, further reassuring her.
Aurora smiled, looking more at ease after hearing my plan. “I feel better now. Thank you for all your concern. Of course, I want to give them the best, but I know I need time to heal, too.”
“And that’s so important. The correlation is so clear—when you take care of yourself, you’re better able to take care of them. We’ll get through this together,” I replied, feeling proud to be able to support her.
