Chapter 31
Aurora's POV
Slowly, I began to feel more at ease, realizing that in time, everything would work out. Dealing with the past and the unforeseen future was part of life—and I would get through it with determination and courage.
That night, despite my setbacks, I decided to relax. I knew there were opportunities ahead, and with Dante, I could continue to hope for new opportunities and maybe, one day, find Molly again.
The next day I returned home disappointed that Molly had not been found. I had also told my parents that I would be going to my parent’s house. I went to see my father.
Without thinking, I stepped closer and embraced his body in a warm embrace. It felt like coming home after a long separation. “I missed you so much, Dad!” my voice shook with emotion.
My father hugged me tightly as if to make sure that I was really there. “I missed you too, Aurora. Nothing can replace the comfort of family,” he replied, his voice full of affection.
After a few moments, we both broke away and looked at each other. “What are you doing here? Is everything okay?” he asked in a worried tone, studying my face closely.
“I… I came to look for Molly. I really want to see her,” I said, feeling the warm greeting and presence of my father gives me new strength. “But I’ve been looking for a while and haven’t found any clear information.”
My father nodded, his face flushed with understanding. “Molly? Yes, she’s gone somewhere. But it seems like we haven’t been in touch for a while. We all miss her,” he said, his tone full of longing as well.
“Do you know where she is, Dad? I really want to see her and talk to her,” I asked hopefully.
“She recently went to the beach, but I don’t know any more details. It seems like she’s trying to find herself,” he explained, a hint of doubt in his eyes.
I could feel how close our family was and how supportive we were. “This is very important to me, Dad. Please tell me if you know anything?” I hoped, eager to reconnect with our significant other and sibling.
My father looked at me intently. “Of course, Aurora. We’ll find a way to contact her. The most important thing for me is to see you happy again,” he said sincerely.
“I also wonder where Molly went, she couldn’t be contacted after she said goodbye yesterday,” my mother said in a worried tone. Apparently, as a mother, she was always worried about her children, especially Molly and me.
Hearing that, I felt mixed feelings in my heart. On one hand, I could feel my mother's deep love and care. Although sometimes she doesn't say it directly, I know she loves me and Molly very much, my older sister. The presence of that feeling was a reminder that despite the tension in our relationship, there was always a thread of love that held us together.
“Mom, I believe Molly is fine,” I replied, trying to reassure my mother. “I’m sure she just needs some time alone, maybe she’s dealing with something she needs to take care of.”
She nodded, though her face was still worried. “I hope you’re right. As my older sister, I always feel responsible for taking care of you,” she said, waving her hands in the air as if to express her concern.
“Molly is a strong person, Mom. She must have had her reasons for choosing to go away and take a break,” I said firmly, trying to persuade my mother. “I’ll try to find a way to contact her again, too.”
My mother smiled faintly, though her eyes still showed signs of worry. “Okay, Aurora. I just want the best for you both. And if there’s anything I can do to help during this time, let me know,” she said sincerely, offering the support I always needed.
“I will, Mom,” I replied, grateful for her understanding and love. This was a precious moment for me; reconnecting with my mother, even though we had argued and disagreed.
As I continued the conversation, I reflected on the new journey I was on. Finding Molly was one of the things I wanted to complete, but I knew that it was also important to maintain a good relationship with my mother. Hopefully, I will get good news about Molly in the near future and reunite our bond as sisters.
“I also wonder where Molly went, she couldn’t be contacted after she said goodbye yesterday,” my mother said. Apparently, as a mother, she always worries about her daughter.
I know that my mother loves me and Molly, my older sister, very much, even though sometimes she doesn’t say it.
After returning home with Dante, I felt relieved to be back home, even though thoughts of Molly still weighed on my mind. However, suddenly my stomach cramped again. “Ouch,” I complained, feeling quite a disturbing pain.
Dante immediately looked at me with concern. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice filled with anxiety. Seeing his expression, I knew he didn’t want to ignore this.
“My stomach hurts,” I replied, trying not to panic even though the pain felt quite excruciating. The creativity and sense of calm that I had previously built seemed to collapse in an instant, replaced by anxiety.
Without hesitation, Dante immediately took the initiative. “We have to go to the hospital immediately to check on the condition of you and the babies in your womb,” he said, in a firm but gentle tone.
I nodded, even though fear began to creep in. “Okay, I’ll come along. Hopefully, everything is okay,” I said while trying to calm myself down.
Dante helped me into the car and quickly drove the vehicle to the nearest hospital. Throughout the journey, I tried to distract myself from the increasingly disturbing pain. “Try to calm down, Aurora. We’ll get an examination soon,” Dante said, trying to provide support.
