Chapter 40

Aurora's POV
I didn't know my mother-in-law that well. In fact, I only met her at my wedding with Dante. I had to miss the previous extended family gathering because of the busyness I had to deal with, so I felt like I didn't have the chance to deepen my relationship with her family.
Thinking about it, it felt a little strange. I had just become part of this family, but it felt like there was quite a distance between me and my mother-in-law. Important moments like this should have been able to strengthen family ties, but in reality, I felt distant from them.
"Ah, maybe someday they will visit us," I said to myself, hoping that my mother-in-law and Dante's extended family could see that I was trying my best to play my role as a wife and mother. If they came to meet, I would have the chance to get to know them better and show them how much I love and care for their three grandchildren.
As I turned to look at the three sleeping babies, I hoped that my tears of anxiety would be replaced by the joy of watching them grow. The desire to have a stronger bond with Dante’s family grew stronger.
“Dante, with what I have here, I hope I can show your mother that I am a good daughter-in-law and worthy of her family’s love,” I said, trying to be open about my feelings.
Dante came closer and put his arm around me. “And you can do it, Aurora. No matter what happens, your sincerity will show. I am sure a meeting will happen, and when it does, they will see what an amazing wife and mother you are,” he replied with conviction.
“Hopefully there will also be a chance to get together in the future. Those moments will be precious for all of us,” he continued, trying to give me hope.
I smiled in response to his enthusiasm. “Thank you, Dante. I really want to be a part of your family with all my heart. With love and care, we should be able to create a good relationship, right?”
“In our own way, and slowly, everything will get better. We have to be patient, and the time will come,” she replied, giving me confidence again.
With the hope of meeting my mother-in-law and her family in the near future, I feel excited to build precious moments with my family and her family. All of that adds to the deepening love for my family and with all the effort, I am sure that our relationship will become more harmonious as time goes by.
Becoming a mother makes me feel like I have changed into a new person. The laziness and indifference to the surroundings that used to be there seem to have disappeared. Now, I am more sensitive to the needs of my three babies, even the slightest sound can wake me up. Even though there are two babysitters ready to help, my maternal instincts feel so strong and different from before.
At first, I didn't expect becoming a mother to make me so sensitive. Every cry, small movement, or sound made by my babies becomes the main highlight of my life. This maternal instinct seems to have changed my perspective and way of life. This is a new and amazing experience, when I see how strong the bond between a mother and her children is.
My time felt so precious as I watched them grow and learn. Every smile, first step, or laugh from our babies brought me a joy I had never felt before. Watching them grow brought me a deep sense of gratitude.
One night, when all three babies woke up and started crying, I was instantly awake. Even though I had slept well that night, my instincts made me feel the need to help them immediately. I could feel their need before they made a sound. It felt amazing to have that connection, like an invisible thread connecting us.
The exhaustion was inevitable, but every time I cared for them, it felt worth it for the joy they brought. Seeing their tiny forms curled up in my arms, I knew that all of these sacrifices and struggles were part of a priceless love.
“Wow, this is amazing,” I often said to myself. The changes in me, the stronger instincts, and the joy that came from this role made life seem different.
As I walked this new path, I learned to cherish every moment, both the sweet and the challenging. The realization of responsibility as a mother brought me to a sense of love and sincerity that I had never felt before. On this journey, I know that being a mother is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. That strength, love, and sacrifice will always be a part of me.
When I had just bathed Roline, suddenly the babysitter approached me with a worried face. "Excuse me, Mom. I think Roland has a fever. He's been crying all this time," she said, and hearing that my heart immediately started beating fast.
Panic began to grip my mind. For the past few months, my three children had never had a fever, even though they had been immunized. The thought that one of them might be unwell made me feel anxious.
"Let me give you some fever-reducing medicine," I said, trying to gather my thoughts and stay calm. Even though my heart was shaking, I knew that I had to act quickly and not panic in front of my children.
Holding Roline in my arms, I immediately headed to the medicine place. "Roland, honey. "Mama is here, Mama will take care of you," I whispered while trying to calm myself down and not wanting to panic in front of Roline.
After finding the right fever-reducing medicine, I returned to the room where Roland was. Seeing his tired face and watery eyes made me even more devastated. In a situation like this, my motherly instincts screamed to immediately provide the best care.
