Chapter 9

Aurora's POV
I saw Dante sitting across from me.
"The servant said you don't want to eat, you only eat fruit salad? What if you get sick?"
I sighed. I didn't want to answer his question.
"Answer me, Aurora!"
"Well, that's it. I don't know."
I rolled my eyes and was still too lazy to chat with Dante. When I saw the servant had arrived home, I immediately called her so she could make a fruit salad for me immediately. "Come here!"
"Okay, Mom."
Sure enough, the presence of the Servant made Dante a little sidelined. I also helped the maid wash the fruit that she had just bought at the supermarket. Then I put it in a bowl and couldn't wait to eat it.
"Sorry, ma'am. You have to wash it again with boiled water. I thought you were pregnant so you have to watch your food intake to always eat cooked food."
"Shh!" I stopped the maid's words which I thought had gone too far. Just because I was always with her then she could say whatever she wanted to me.
"Sorry, ma'am. But symptoms like this are similar to a pregnant woman. Maybe you can remember when your last period was."
"Don't act like you know it!" I snorted in annoyance especially since Dante was there too. He might be confident that he had succeeded in impregnating me. Besides, I only had sex with him once with the word 'punishment' there's no way I could get pregnant right away.
"Yes, sorry, ma'am." The servant apologized again.
"Okay, I'm lazy now so I won't eat fruit salad.”
I went back to my room and decided not to eat anything. Servant's words were indeed quite excessive. I think she is on Dante's side because she is paid by Dante, not me.
I heard the door to the room open too. "Let's go to the hospital!"
I turned around, Dante invited me to the hospital. "What are you doing? Do you think I'm really pregnant?"
"I want to make sure you're okay. You don't eat any carbohydrates at all."
"Liar!"
I was too lazy to go to the hospital. Dante would definitely believe that I was pregnant with the reason he just had.
"No need to be stubborn!" Dante continued again.
"What did you say? I'm stubborn? My world is destroyed because I married you. Do you think I'm happy to be married to you? You are an authoritarian husband. All your wishes must be followed while I have to follow everything you say, huh?"
I could no longer hold back my anger. So I told him what I really felt and all the suffering I had experienced.
“Didn’t you know that your boyfriend cheated on you with your best friend after marrying me?”
I narrowed my eyes at Dante. “That’s none of your business.”
Dante seemed to smile as if he didn’t know how I was feeling right now. I also didn’t expect that I would have to see him smile in victory.
“Of course it’s my business because you’re my wife now. If you don’t want to go to the hospital, that’s okay. I’ll call a doctor to check you.”
I snorted in annoyance. He was still being selfish. He didn’t think about how I felt. But suddenly my stomach cramped. “Ouch.” I held my stomach.
“Why?” Dante was worried about me then approached me.
“My stomach hurts so bad.”
I couldn’t hold back my stomach ache so I didn’t refuse when Dante carried me and took me to the hospital. Throughout the journey I held my stomach and I also felt very sick.
When I arrived at the hospital I was immediately treated by a female doctor. She checked my stomach.
“Have you eaten?” The doctor asked.
“Not yet, doc.”
“Why? I think you have an ulcer but you should also do a pregnancy test to make sure you’re pregnant or not because you’re in the lower abdomen.” That’s the doctor’s explanation.
Ah, damn. Why do you have to do a pregnancy test?
“Later you will be treated by an obstetrician if you are pregnant, if not then I will give you a prescription for medicine. But if you are pregnant then the obstetrician is the one who has the authority to give you medicine.”
Earlier the doctor did give me medicine and reduced my stomachache but it didn’t reduce the cramps in my lower abdomen.
I went into the bathroom and Dante was waiting in front of me. I collected my urine into a cup then I noticed a flat object that I had just held.
I put the object in and it turned out there was a line. So it’s true that I’m not pregnant. Luckily. If not, I would have been given special treatment. I immediately gave the test to the doctor.
“Congratulations, ma’am, you’re really pregnant.”
My eyes bulged perfectly. What did she just say. It was clear that I saw only one line earlier and that meant I wasn't pregnant.
"Didn't you see that there was only one line?" I asked.
"No, ma'am. Look at this, two girls, that means you're pregnant."
She showed me the device and sure enough, the flat object had changed into two lines. Oh my god, how could it change?
"Maybe when you were in the bathroom earlier, it wasn't read properly," said the doctor again.
