Chapter 35

Dante's POV
“I just need to feel peace,” she said softly before the pain returned.
In moments like this, every single one of my heart knows that this journey is part of something bigger—we will soon be starting a family and facing parenthood. With that hope, I pray that Aurora will get through this with courage and health.
Aurora's struggle was extraordinary. She tried her best to have a normal delivery, but the gnawing pain made me feel like I couldn't bear to see her. Every time she tried to push, I could see how tired she was. Sweat was pouring, her breath was short, and on one side, I could feel that she was almost out of energy. However, none of the babies came out.
Finally, when I felt panicked and lost hope, the doctor approached. "Sir, I think your wife has to have a cesarean delivery. Your babies should come out soon, but Mrs. Aurora can't push," said the doctor in a serious tone, but still gentle.
My heart sank when I heard those words. Of course, I wanted Aurora to be able to have a normal delivery, but the situation was no longer possible. "Please do your best, Doc," I said, my voice shaking with anxiety.
On the other hand, Aurora heard our conversation. She looked at me with tears in the corners of her eyes, a deep pleading look. I could see how much she wanted to give birth the way she wanted, but she also knew that she couldn’t fight any longer.
“I… I want to have a natural birth, Dante,” she said in a barely audible voice. There was strength behind her words despite her weak body.
“I know, Aurora. But your health and the health of our babies are the most important thing right now,” I replied, trying to give her support amidst the pain she was experiencing.
The doctor explained firmly and gently. “We will do our best to help you and deliver the babies safely. If you agree, we will immediately prepare everything for a cesarean section.”
With the decision made, I felt mixed feelings. On one hand, there was guilt and disappointment for not being able to give Aurora what she wanted. On the other hand, I knew that this step was best for both of their safety.
I reached for her hand, holding it tightly. “I am here with you, Aurora. This is not the end of your journey. We will get through this together.”
Aurora’s tears flowed, but beneath them, there was determination and a desire to welcome our children. As the medical team prepared, I felt confident that we would soon meet our babies—and begin our new journey as parents.
Knowing that love and support during this process are key to overcoming any hardship, I prepared to accompany Aurora through the next step, whatever it might be.
Feeling anxious and hopeful, I followed Aurora as she was moved to the operating room. As we entered the room, the serious medical atmosphere made me feel even more tense. Medical equipment was neatly arranged, and nurses immediately began to prepare everything while doctors coordinated to prepare for the procedure.
Aurora was quickly put on oxygen because she was so weak. Seeing her in such a state was heartbreaking. She was my strong wife, but she looked so vulnerable right now. I tried to give her a smile and a strong attitude.
While waiting, I tried to call Aurora’s mother on the phone, “Mom, can you please pray for Aurora so that this process goes smoothly?” I asked, my voice shaking with worry, but also filled with hope. I believe a mother’s prayers can give strength.
After talking to her mother, I turned back to Aurora as she lay on the operating table. “You can do it, Aurora!” I said, my voice piercing the tense atmosphere in the room. “You’re strong, remember? And I’m here with you. We’ll get through this.”
She looked at me, and in her eyes, I could see a mix of pain, hope, and desperation. Though she looked tired, a small smile was etched on her face. “Dante…” her voice was weak, but there was strength left in it. “I want to see them.”
“I know, honey. And you’ll see them soon. We’ll be a family,” I replied, trying to reassure her. Every second felt extraordinary in that moment, but I believed in Aurora’s strength and resilience.
With the medical procedures soon to begin, the doctors and nurses took their positions ready to perform the procedure. I watched them work quickly and professionally, and that was when I felt confident that everything would go well.
The anxiety that had been weighing on my feelings began to fade little by little. In my heart, I prayed that everything would go smoothly, that Aurora would give birth soon and we could welcome our three babies into this world.
“Get ready, Aurora. You are going to experience this amazing thing. I love you so much and support you,” I said again, holding her hand.
During the process, I continued to pray, hoping with all my heart. Now is the time to witness a miracle, and I know that all the struggles and pain we have experienced so far will not be in vain. Soon, we will be a new family.
After going through a fairly stressful process, I held Aurora's hand tightly, giving her the strongest support possible. Suddenly, the sound of a baby crying began to be heard in the operating room. My heart was beating fast, and I felt a mixture of emotion and joy that could not be expressed in words. I have become a father!
One by one, our babies were born. The sound of crying signified that they had arrived in the world, and happiness filled my heart. Seeing the doctors and nurses working skillfully, they immediately cleaned each baby and wrapped them in soft blankets.
“Aurora, our child is born,” I said, voice full of enthusiasm, looking at you with love. “We have a baby!”
