Chapter 99
Aurora's POV
Cherry looked at me seriously, and I knew that someday, when she was older and more understanding, I would explain who her birth mother was. She was part of our heritage, and I wanted to make sure Cherry knew where she came from and how much Molly loved her.
That’s where I see the future. Today is a reminder for us to continue to cherish the love, to remember those who have passed, and to connect with those who remain. We pray not only for those who have passed, but also to continue to celebrate the life and love that connects us.
When we were done, we left with lighter hearts, knowing that memories and love will live on above all else. As I made my way home, I felt even more grateful for the family we have and all the precious experiences we’ve had together.
The kids were cheerful on the way home. They began to tell me about the things they did in the park at my father-in-law’s house and the new games they learned. There was laughter and cheerful voices filling the car, creating a warm atmosphere that was refreshing after the solemn moment at the cemetery.
“Mom, we can draw pictures for grandma and Aunt Molly at home!” Roline exclaimed excitedly.
“That’s a great idea! We can make a big poster and write our beautiful memories with them,” I said. Deep in my heart, I felt proud that the children were able to appreciate and remember them in such a touching way.
When we got home, we immediately decided to gather paper, crayons, and markers. I helped them create a creative space in the living room. Without further ado, the children began to draw happily, creating something beautiful and meaningful.
As they created, I began to reflect on how important it is for us to continue to celebrate memories. It’s not just about remembering those who have passed, but also about how the love and lessons they taught can live on in us.
“I want to draw flowers for grandma, because she always loved flowers,” Ronald said, drawing seriously and intently.
“And I drew a rainbow for Aunt Molly! She was always cheerful!” Roline exclaimed. She may not remember being kidnapped by Molly, but I always tell her that Aunt Molly is a good person.
Seeing them excited and sharing creative ideas makes me smile. It’s our way of expressing our love and longing, and I know that this is a moment that will bring us closer together as a family.
When all the drawings were finished, we decided to hang them on the wall so that every time we look at them, it will be a sweet reminder of the legacy of love we have. Cherry drew a big heart and wrote, “We love you, Grandma and Aunt Molly,” making it even warmer.
That night, as we gathered in the living room to look at the beautiful drawings that had been made, a sense of gratitude washed over us. We knew that even though something was missing, the love would always be there, binding us together as a family, making us stronger and more loving.
The days ahead will be filled with new challenges and adventures, but one thing is for sure, we will always find a way to celebrate the love between us, cherish the memories, and make sure that every precious moment lives on in our hearts.
As I was hanging out with the kids in the living room, Dante approached me and took my hand. He looked at me intently, as if trying to convey a very valuable message. “Aurora,” he said softly, “I want you to know that I love you very much. With you, I feel strong and ready to face whatever the future holds for us.”
My heart fluttered at his words. There was a warmth and sincerity in his voice that made the same love flow through me. “I love you too, Dante,” I replied, my eyes sparkling, feeling lucky to have him by my side. “You are my biggest supporter, and I promise to always be there for you, no matter what.”
We both smiled at each other, deepening each other’s presence in the midst of a life full of changes. It felt like, in every step we took, our love was always there as the main force that bound us and our children together.
“Every challenge we will face will only strengthen this love,” he said, holding my hand tighter. “With us together, I am sure there is nothing we cannot get through.”
I nodded in agreement. Over the past year, we have faced many trials, but each time we have been able to rely on and support each other has brought us closer. Seeing how our love has grown despite the obstacles made me feel that our future is bright.
In that moment, we both understood that even though there are difficulties out there, our togetherness is the guarantee that we will always be able to handle whatever comes. Family is our top priority, and the love that flows through this family is the strength that will help us overcome any challenges that lie ahead.
Amidst the laughter and joy of children running around, I felt at peace. The power of this love will always be our guide every step of the way towards a future full of hope and happiness. And as we move forward, we know that together, we can create beautiful memories that will adorn our life's journey.
Every moment, both good and bad, has shaped us into a strong and supportive family. Now, with deep love and a commitment to each other, we are ready to face whatever comes next.
THE END.
