Chapter 72
Aurora's POV
With Cherry already walking around, playing with her toys, the atmosphere at home became warmer and more cheerful. This moment was a reminder that even though life’s challenges have given us obstacles, in the end, with love and support from each other, we can overcome them all.
With my mother healthy again, it felt like everything was back on track. Deep in my heart, I felt grateful for every glimmer of hope, praying that the days ahead would be filled with more happiness and progress for all.
That night, after a warm and laughing dinner with my mother, I decided to spend the night at her house. It felt good to be back in a place filled with memories. Although this house brought peace, there were also shadows of the past that followed me.
Cherry was already asleep in my arms, and I set up the bed in the living room. As I began to prepare the place, I thought back to my childhood—the fond memories of playing with Molly in this house. We often spent time running around in the yard, having fun, and joking. Those moments felt warm and full of joy.
However, suddenly a feeling of sadness crept into my heart when I remembered that Molly was gone forever. Those beautiful memories now became painful, as if touching the deepest recesses in me. Why did it all have to end like this? In the silence of the night, I reflected on how much loss and weight everyone had experienced.
Hearing Cherry's soft sigh made me realize. She relied on my presence, and I had to stay strong for her and my mother. Here, although full of sad memories, there was also love and a strong family bond.
As the night grew deeper, I sat by the window, staring at the stars shining in the sky, trying to calm my mind. There was something calming in the silence of the night, as if nature was providing support in my sadness. With all the memories of Molly, I tried to find the resilience within myself to face an uncertain future.
When I jumped into bed, I hugged Cherry gently. I wanted my children to grow up surrounded by warm love, good values, and cherished memories—all while remembering Molly as a part of our lives, without letting sadness consume us. We are family, and despite the challenges, we will continue to support each other, remembering those who have passed and living our lives given with love and hope.
That night was part of a long journey, but I told myself that I would continue to move forward, supporting my mother and my children, while not forgetting the memories of all that had been.
When the door opened and the triplets, Roland and Ronald, and Roline, entered the house, the atmosphere was immediately filled with laughter and joy. They ran toward me, and I immediately opened my arms for a warm embrace. It felt so wonderful to feel their presence beside me.
“Mommy!” Roland shouted, jumping into the embrace. Ronald and Roline followed, making it feel like a warm group hug. A smile spread across my face, forgetting for a moment the burdens that had been on my shoulders.
After we had greeted each other and shared our happiness, Ronald began to tell his story. “Mom, today at school a friend pushed me!” her voice sounded excited, but I could also hear a hint of annoyance in it. “But I fought back! I didn’t want him to keep bothering us!”
I felt a surge of pride when I heard that Ronald had the courage to take action. “Oh yeah? What did you do?” I asked enthusiastically, pretending to be more curious.
“I pushed back!” she said, explaining how she did it with a big smile. “I didn’t want him to feel like he could bother us for no reason.”
“That’s great, Ronald!” I said, one of the many things I wanted to emphasize. “Sometimes we need to teach our friends not to bother us. But remember, it’s important to talk to the teacher if something is wrong. We should use our words to solve problems too.”
Roland nodded, as if he knew there was a line between defending himself and violence. “Yes, Mom. But what if he still behaves badly?”
“If he keeps bothering you, you have to tell the teacher, okay? Don’t just act alone,” my mother said, my shoulder that strengthened me when facing difficult situations. “We don’t want the same problem to become bigger. Sometimes communication can be stronger than action.”
The three children listened to the explanation seriously, and Roline added, “We have to take care of each other, right, Mama?”
“Of course!” I replied, embracing them tightly. “You are a team, and everyone needs to talk and protect each other, including supporting each other. If there is a problem, we face it together.”
Gently, I guided them to not only listen to Ronald’s story, but also give them the opportunity to express their feelings and share their views on how to deal with conflicts at school.
This moment felt very precious, reminding us that we as parents need to provide knowledge to children about how to face the challenges they might face out there. And when I saw them smile, their eyes shining with understanding, my heart felt warm.
That day, despite the challenges, we were able to build courage, teach each other to support each other, and take care of each other. Together, we formed a strong family bond to live beautiful moments and overcome anything that might come our way.
A week after my mother returned home, I began to feel tension hanging over me. My mother complained of pain in her breasts, and even though she had undergone surgery, the news made me very worried. My father told me about the complaint, and I felt restless as I waited for his update. Anxiety mixed with the hope that things might go down kept me awake at night.
