Chapter 58

Aurora's POV
Those thoughts wanted to grab me, trying to pull me into the darkness, but I refused to get caught up in them. “No, not now,” I thought. Now it was time to focus on what was most important—Roline’s health.
“Doctor, what can we do to help her?” I asked, trying to control my voice and keep my composure.
The doctor nodded empathetically. “We will provide her with proper nutritional care and monitor her health here. Roline will need the nutrients she needs to recover. It is important for parents to make sure their children are getting enough nutrition at home after she returns.”
I nodded, fighting back the tears that threatened to overflow. Successfully restoring Roline’s strength was my top priority. “I promise I will do my best to make her healthy,” I said, my voice full of conviction even as my heart felt heavy.
While Roline was in the hospital, all my focus would be on caring for her, fixing the situation that had already been damaged. If there was anything I could do to make this better, I would do it.
In my mind, images of Dante and Molly tried to fade away along with the tension of the moment. In this time of crisis, I could not afford to get caught up in things beyond my control—this family, especially Roline, needed me to be strong.
After some time, I could see Roline lying quietly on the hospital bed. Her body was small, but my hope was burning. In my heart, I prayed that Roline would recover soon and be able to feel the love she deserved. At that moment, hope for a better future began to grow again, and I vowed not to let anything stop me from fighting for my daughter's happiness.
I accompanied Roline in the hospital, feeling how weak her body was as she lay on the bed. She looked so thin, as if she never got enough food. Seeing her like that made my heart ache. How could Molly possibly take care of her well? Roline was my daughter, and seeing her in this state drained my emotions, especially when I thought about how healthy Roland and Ronald were. My two boys were growing up strong and fit, and it only added to the pain in my heart when I compared them to Roline's condition.
My children should not have been in this situation. And now I wonder what has happened all this time. Of course, I have many questions for Molly, but right now I just want to focus on Roline.
My mother finally arrived at the hospital, bringing Roland and Ronald with her. Seeing their beaming faces as they entered the room gave me a little relief. However, when they saw Roline lying weakly, I could see the confusion on their faces. They might have forgotten the memory of how Roline was their sister.
“This is Roline, your sister,” I said softly, hoping to introduce them to Roline’s presence. “She’s back, honey. And she needs your love.”
Roland and Ronald approached carefully. They looked curious, but also a little hesitant. “Mom, Mom.” Roland’s voice pointed at Roline. Maybe he wanted to ask who Roline was.
Not wanting to put more pressure on her, I tried to explain gently. “She needs time to recover, but we are all here to help her. As time goes by, you will see how strong she is.”
My mother smiled, trying to reassure her two grandchildren. “Roline is part of our family. Come on, let’s give her some love and attention so she can get better soon,” she said excitedly, gently touching Roline’s hand, showing the genuine love that we all expected.
After some time, I saw their faces begin to melt. They began to talk to Roline in a funny language, even though she couldn’t speak back.
Seeing this interaction gave me new hope. I was sure that slowly, as time went by, they would all get used to Roline’s presence. Their sister would feel it, and maybe, we could all rebuild the lost bond.
I continued to accompany Roline in the hospital, giving her all the attention and affection that I could. Although the road was long and challenging, I was determined to bring happiness back into our lives—partners in the midst of uncertainty, all for the love that would never end for our little one.
After almost a week in the hospital, I finally got the good news—Roline had been allowed to go home by the doctor. My heart was overflowing with happiness as I prepared everything to bring her home. I couldn’t wait to see my daughter get out of her hospital bed and back home, where she belonged.
When we arrived home, a sense of relief and warmth enveloped us. As soon as I had Roline settled into a comfortable bed, I felt grateful that she was now with me. Those little moments meant so much, and I was determined to do my best for her health and happiness.
However, as I was arranging everything, I heard Dante’s voice calling me from the door. “Aurora!” his voice made me turn around. When I got closer, I realized that he had just returned, and to my surprise, he was not with Molly.
It was strange and sudden, a feeling of jealousy enveloped my heart. “Dante, are you home?” I asked, trying to hide all the doubts that were bothering me. Considering that he had just married Molly, my heart had a hard time accepting the fact that he had returned without his wife.
“Yes, I’m home. I wanted to make sure that you and Roline were okay,” he replied, his tone soft and caring. However, inside me, I felt tension and a desire to understand what was really happening.
“And… Molly?” I asked, trying to hold back the burning jealousy. What was going on between them? Why wasn’t she with him? “Why didn’t she come with you?”
