Chapter 30
Aurora's POV
“I should wait for the right time to talk to her,” I muttered to myself. In my heart, I wished my sister the best and hoped to touch base on all of this when I could see her.
With that in mind, I locked my phone, determined to reconnect. If I had the chance, I wanted to talk to Molly about what had happened, hoping to learn more about her life and make sure she was okay.
“Dante, is there any chance we could meet Molly sometime soon? I really want to meet her,” I said, looking at him hopefully. After seeing Molly’s posts and missing her, the urge to meet was growing stronger.
Dante stared at me for a moment, seeing the serious expression on my face. “Sure, we can plan it. When should we go?” he asked, seemingly supportive of the idea.
I thought for a moment, trying to find a good time. “Maybe this weekend or next week? I feel like my pregnancy still allows me to be active, and I want to make sure that we can communicate well.”
Dante nodded, a warm smile appearing on his face. “Okay, we can make plans to visit Molly out of town. I also want to make sure that you are comfortable and happy,” he said, clearly supporting my wishes.
“Thank you, Dante. I miss Molly’s presence, and I want to share everything that is happening in my life with her. This is an important moment for me,” I replied sincerely.
Dante took my hand and held it tightly. “We will schedule everything. And don’t worry, we will make sure that this trip is safe and enjoyable for you,” he said, the conviction in his voice making me feel better.
A sense of anticipation began to rise within me as we planned the trip to visit Molly. The distance between us seemed to be erased, and I wanted to share the happy news of my pregnancy and the wonderful moments that were happening in my life.
With renewed vigor, I began to imagine a future together—laughing, sharing stories, and spending time together as siblings. Dante’s love and support made it all seem possible, and I felt ready to make these hopes a reality.
The weekend arrived, and I was excited to find Molly. Taking a step forward, I tried to find out where she was from the address she had given me. I hoped it was the right one. The two-hour drive was tiring, but my passion kept me focused.
After driving through several streets and finally arriving at my destination, I pulled the car over in front of the shop she had mentioned. However, as I looked around, my heart began to pound. “Is this Molly’s address?” I asked the friendly-looking shopkeeper.
“No,” the owner replied politely.
Disappointment filled my heart; it was as if my shell of hope was starting to crack. “Oh, excuse me, do you know where I can find Molly?” I asked again, trying to get more information.
The shopkeeper shook his head. "I'm sorry, I don't know who that is. Maybe there's someone around here who knows her better."
I thanked her and walked out of the store, trying to calm myself down. Fatigue was starting to creep up on me, and a sense of hopelessness was starting to set in. Deep down, I knew I shouldn't give up so easily, but with no clear leads, it was getting harder.
Every step I took felt heavier as time passed and uncertainty clouded my mind. But at that moment, I remembered how important our relationship was. There was nothing more valuable than trying to rekindle a bond that might have been lost.
I decided to wander around the area. Maybe there was someone who knew Molly or something else that could help me get more information. On this trip, I just wanted to make sure I did everything I could to find and meet her.
With renewed determination, I started walking to other places nearby, hoping to find something that would bring me closer to my long-lost sister.
My search for Molly had finally failed. All my efforts seemed to be fruitless, and the exhaustion of the long journey had enveloped me. Disappointment left a bitter taste in my heart, but now I knew that I had to give her space to find her own way.
As I sat in the car, sharing the quiet atmosphere with Dante, he looked at me with concern. “Let’s get to know each other at one of the hotels here first. We’ll go home tomorrow because you’re pregnant, Aurora. I don’t want you to get tired,” he said softly, giving me a touching sense of concern.
I could feel Dante’s genuine concern, and my gratitude for him grew even deeper. “Thank you, Dante. I feel a little tired and disappointed. Spending all this time looking for Molly with no results is hard enough,” I replied, looking out the window at the city view passing by.
“It’s hard, and sometimes you can’t force someone to be found. The important thing now is to take care of your health and let things flow,” he said, his voice soothing.
He turned the car around to the designated hotel. Once we arrived, we were guided into a warm and welcoming lobby. As we entered, the atmosphere was comfortable and I began to feel better. It felt like a place to rest after a long journey.
“If you need anything, don’t hesitate to say so. This is a time to relax,” he said as we both walked to our room. Thoughts of the search for Molly slowly receded, making room for other positive things.
Inside the hotel room, I opened the window and looked out at the glittering city. “I hope we can find Molly someday,” I said, “but for now, I’m going to try to enjoy this time with you.”
“We will. But the most important thing right now is to stay healthy,” Dante added, giving me a concerned look.
