Chapter 94

Aurora's POV
As night fell, the kids looked excited. We decided to dress up in our best clothes. Roline was wearing a beautiful new dress, and Roland and Ronald were dressed smartly in their suits. Cherry also looked adorable in her little dress.
In the fancy restaurant, the ambiance was impressive. Soft lights and soft instrumental music greeted us as we stepped in. The cheerful glow on the children’s faces gave a positive impression throughout the room.
We sat down at the neatly set table and prepared to enjoy the meal. As the food began to be served, laughter and stories flowed easily. I could see Dante opening up, seeing this as an opportunity to relax from the rigors of his routine.
We shared the meal, introducing the children to a variety of new dishes. There was pizza, pasta, and other mouth-watering dishes. In the joy of sharing stories and laughter, I felt as if some of the burdens we were carrying were lightened.
“This dinner was so much fun!” Ronald exclaimed, excitedly. “I want to come here again!” Their little gestures made me feel happy to see them enjoying their time together.
“I agree! We should do this more often,” Roline added lively.
As Dante, who was starting to smile widely, looked at me with a look that told me how much this time meant. Simple moments like this meant so much. In the happiness, I could feel the strong bond between us again. We were a team—and despite the hardships out there, we would always find a way to enjoy each other’s company.
That night wasn’t just about the food, but more about the strength of the love and connection we had as a family. When we went home, I felt more optimistic and ready to face every challenge ahead with renewed vigor.
“Dante, you said this was an invitation to eat, but why are we the only ones here?” I asked, a little puzzled and worried as my mother looked around the restaurant, which seemed deserted. Although the ambiance of the place was beautiful and comfortable, seeing no other guests made me feel uneasy and anxious.
Dante also looked confused. “Yes, my colleagues should have arrived. They told me they would join us, but it’s been a while, and there’s been no news at all,” he replied, looking straight at the entrance of the restaurant.
“Are you sure they’re okay?” I asked, paying closer attention to the seemingly unusual situation. Although the cheerful atmosphere had eased some of the burden on his shoulders, my worry began to dominate.
Dante shook his head, looking frustrated. “I’ve confirmed everything before. Maybe they’re stuck in traffic or something else that’s not working,” he said, hoping to find a positive reason.
However, as time passed, tension began to creep into our table. I could feel the worry spreading. “Maybe we should call them?” I suggested hesitantly.
Dante pulled out his phone and tried to call one of his colleagues. However, his call went unanswered. “Maybe they’re busy,” he said, but I could see the worry in his eyes and face.
The night seemed to grow longer with each passing minute. There was nothing more nerve-wracking than waiting in uncertainty. While the kids seemed oblivious to the tension, I couldn’t be completely at ease. I was worried that this wasn’t going to end well, and I wanted to make sure Dante didn’t get too overwhelmed by it.
Finally, Dante put down his phone. “I don’t think anyone’s coming, Aurora. I’m sorry if this makes us uncomfortable,” he said with a heavy sigh.
I looked at him, trying to be supportive. “Maybe we could use this time to talk more, without your friends interrupting us,” I suggested, hoping to distract from the awkward situation.
“Yeah, that might be a good idea,” Dante replied, trying to smile. We decided to try to focus on each other and the kids, talking about anything that would lighten the mood. Even though this invitation didn’t go as we had hoped, I hoped we could still create a special moment as a family.
The night might not have gone as planned, but we would get through this together. In the end, what mattered most was our time together and the support we gave each other.
My suspicions grew when I saw Dante just smiling, even though he seemed burdened with problems at the company. I was the one who felt burdened and worried. Every day going through pressure and challenges, I wished he could share the burden with me.
However, as I was busy thinking about these things, suddenly my head felt dizzy, and my vision went dark. In an instant, I felt like the world disappeared from my sight.
When I finally opened my eyes, it seemed like I was already in the hospital. Confusion filled my mind, and then I saw Dante beside me. His smile seemed bright, but inside, I felt tension. “You’ve finally woken up,” he said softly.
I tried to remember what happened earlier, but my mind was still hazy. “Dante, what happened?” I asked in confusion, still groping around in this unfamiliar hospital room.
He exhaled, looking relieved but also anxious. “You suddenly fainted at home. I was so worried,” he explained. “We took you to the hospital right away. The doctor said you were suffering from severe fatigue and unmanageable stress.”
Hearing that explanation, fear and shortness filled my mind. “Oh no… I didn’t want to add to your burden, Dante. I… I should have been stronger. I’m sorry,” I said in a low voice, feeling guilty for the situation.
Dante took my hand. “Aurora, you have nothing to apologize for. This is all because of us, including the excessive burden that we both carry. Don’t feel alone in this. We will face this together,” he said, making sure I knew that I was not alone.
He lifted my head so that I could look him in the eye. “Your health is the most important thing. We have children, and we all need you. If you feel tired, it will affect them too,” he said caringly.
