Writer’s POV

Queen Rebecca met with her crew as planned and informed them about the new development.

“Sorry to say this my queen but our meeting these days is getting more frequent than expected, we need to be extra careful mostly when the alpha has sent his men to find out about what happened in the past.” Peter said with respect.

“Yes my queen, Peter is right, someone might be following us,we can’t afford to be caught.” Elizabeth and others supported him and the Queen saw reasons to what they said.

“I understand what you mean but even if we get caught, we can simply say we are getting prepared for a party to surprise the packs, no one will dare question me or interrogate me either.” She responded and they felt more comfortable.

“So my queen, tell us, what is so urgent? I heard it’s going to be in our favor this time around.” Peter continued the discussion.

“Yes, my son is going to be the king without us stressing ourselves too much, the king ordered for a duel between them.” They all giggled in excitement and she silenced them to finish her statement.

“As you all know, Alpha Aiden has been training my son since he completed 6 years up to this age, he is good in both wolf and physical combat as well, so we have no reason to fear Mariam, who just learnt a few things.” She concluded.

“That’s a good way for your son to become king, the Alpha command is useless here, if she fails then she is not worthy to be the queen and the crown will be given to your son Sylvester, but what if your son fails?” Mary the doubting friend also inquired.

“My son won’t fail, I am so confident about it and I can boast of it as well, now this is what I want us to do,I want to make sure Mariam doesn’t makes it out of the woods on the day of the duel.” Everyone looked at her with an evil smile.

“We are going to get rid of her for good then our titles will be saved as well, I am in support of everything my queen, how do we achieve this task? Will you son agree to get his hands dirty?” Henry inquired stroking his beards.

“No, he won’t agreed but I got a plan, he fights to win and we kill at the background, is that simple, we use the needle method.” They all cheered her up for coming up with such a brilliant plan.

No one can ever survive the needle method mostly once it’s pierce on the person skin, he or she will lose strength and the more they struggle, the closer they get to their death.

“I want you all to know this, once we succeed with our plans then I will grant everyone of you your heart desires and make sure your children rules with my son, we will all lead the entire packs together.” They celebrated her and talked about the search results so far for the maid and haven’t gotten any clue about her, some suggested maybe she is dead or sick ad well.

Alpha Aiden felt so disturbed about the duel with his two children, no man can stand it and watch his children fight just because of power but what else can he do but to watch it happen. He has to keep his emotions aside and grant the desires of the packs and the custom as well.

He bought some flowers and went to his late wife grave to speak with her.

“I am sorry Nora that I am just coming, I got so busy with so much activities, you know how it is but I think of you everyday.” He dropped the flower and sat close to the grave looking at her picture.

“Wow,you are looking so beautiful as usual, tell me what’s the secret? You are aging backwards.” He smiled but tears came out instead with his eyes all red for the pains he was in.

“Nora, I don’t know what to do? Our daughter and Rebecca son will be in a duel soon, there is no way I can stop it.” He wiped his tears away.

“I wished I never took a second wife, maybe all these won’t be happening but I can’t blame you for it either, you did it just to protect me and there is nothing I can argue about,I wish the death could speak.” He tried to compose himself, just Nora could see him for who he was, he could cry in her shoulder and she will calm him down but no one could do this with him.

“I know you will be here.” He heard Elvis voice from behind and he smiled getting up.

“I just wanted to have a little talk with her,I hope all is well?” He questioned his beta who also came with flowers for Nora.

“Yes,I am fine.” He cheered up immediately so the beta won’t feel sorry for him.

He allowed the beta to pay his respect to Nora before they engaged in a conversation.

“Why will you create a duel for both your children?” The beta inquired.

“I had no other choice, I was stuck and had to accept the members plead, they need to know if the queen is worthy of her title.” He explained.

“This is going to be a problem and you know that? Mariam is not good enough in both physical and wolf combat, she will fail woefully, you have to teach her.” The beta suggested.

“I would love to do that but I can’t do it,they custom won’t allow that,just their mothers are allowed to train them,I I get caught teaching her,I haven’t only ruined the family name but disappointed my late family and no one will ever take my word seriously again.”

“I understand, we need to look for a way out, the last time Sylvester went out of control, you remembered what he did”
The alpha looked at him saying,”Yes,I I know,he almost killed his own sister and the people around him,if I was a minute late, it would have been a blood bath.” The alpha replied his beta.

“I would suggest we talk to your daughter,I mean Nora’s only daughter to back out and let your son be king, at least we saved her life then she can marry and live a peaceful life.” The beta gave an option that can help the Alpha burden to be a bit light.

“I don’t think Sylvester will run mad like that again,you know what anger can do to a wolf like us? He likes Mariam since the day she came to our home, even before he found out they were related,he won’t hurt her, that is for sure.” He assured the beta and they walked doubt of the place.

“If you are going to let your daughter fight, you need to look for a means to protect her at all cost, that is something you owe late Queen Nora.” The beta concluded and the Alpha let out a smile.

“I will look for a means, starting from tomorrow she will have to train without resting by herself.” They kept on talking about it.

Alpha Diesel heard about the duel with Sylvester, he feared for Mariam, he knows so well she is fragile and hasn’t gotten skills in combat yet.

He met with his brothers who were busy playing basket ball at the field.

“Axel,Jett,we need to talk.”

“Just give us a few minutes,I need to win Jett.” Axel said sweating.

“Even if you are given an hour, there is still no way you can win me.” Jett said taking the ball and throwing it into the net.

“Yes,I won.” Jett jumped in excitement.

“Damn it,why are you so good in basket ball? I think I am going to take some lessons so next time I will be the one winning.” Axel replied Jett and they walked to the spot Diesel was standing.

“Diesel is there a problem? Does Mariam want us now?” Jett asked.

“Or she wants us to get something for her? We can start leaving to get them,I don’t wish to provoke her.” Axel added with a brief smile.

“I wish that’s the only problem, we got a bigger problem that will end Mariam in a trap.”

“Trap? What do you mean? Did you get any clue of the killer? Is he planning to harm Mariam again?” Jett asked getting angry.

“Control your anger Jett and let’s hear from Diesel in details.” Axel calmed him.

“Alpha Aiden announced a duel to take place on the next full moon, a duel between Mariam and Sylvester, one of them has to prove their selves worthy of the crown.” He opened up.

“What?” They asked at the same time.

“This is not good, if Sylvester is really working with Rita and he is eager to get the crown, he is going to harm Mariam and then we won’t be able to do anything to protect her.” Jett said in a rush and tension could be seen in the brother’s faces.

“Exactly my point, she has to give up the crown and let him win to be safe.” Diesel suggested.

Jett pushed him angrily and they almost ended up in a serious fight, “What is your problem Jett? Must you always fight with Diesel?” Axel as usual tried to calm them down.

“You heard what he said, he wants Mariam to give up the title just like that? Why? So you can hurt her or what?”

“Why will I think of a thing like that? Even if I thought of such, you know who her father is,he can shred me into pieces but accept it or not, Mariam has to give up the crown for her own life.” Diesel threw more light in his own opinion.

“Diesel.” Jett screamed his name.

“Your opinion doesn’t count at all,just shut up your mouth if you have nothing reasonable to say, a word from you again about her giving you,I am going to punch you to your grave.” Jett threatened.

“Really, you think I will stand by and watch you do that?” Diesel also got ready, Axel saw it was getting out of hand, he shouted at them,“I said enough, you both.” They kept silenced immediately.
