Chapter 78
Chapter 78
Writer POV
He was shocked even if he knew the next process, and not just him, but his beta also had the same expression on his face.
"You did well; you saved the girl. Let the doctor and nurses take it from there; you need to rest now." Elvis said to him, and he refused to take his advice.
"I will not blink until I know she has fully recovered." He said.
"I know what you are thinking—maybe she just has the same qualities as your late wife or maybe she is part of the pack, but I assure you, she is not Nora."
"I know, and don’t make it sound like I am crazy; you know I can reap your heart for that." He said and Elvis smiled.
"You have done well, Aiden. The pack also needs you, and remember, we planned to visit the Nightwalker pack at 2; you need to rest now, and don’t worry, I will take it from here." Elvis tried to convince him, but he still refused.
"Why do I have you? You can visit on my behalf." He said and walked from Elvis presence, meeting the doctor and telling them what to do next.
The werewolves around them gossiped among themselves about what happened last night. “Are you sure Alpha Aiden did that?"
"Yes, he is still here and hasn’t left yet. I wonder how a young girl could capture his heart."
"I am going to kill her, we have been trying our best to win his heart, even if we are just concubines, but nothing has worked for us then a girl from nowhere captured his heart; I hate her already."
"I just wish I was the one he carried and placed in the bath tub—his touch." They kept talking, and Alpha Aiden could hear everyone's conversation, but he controlled his hearing not to listen. He doesn’t like to defend himself in cases like this; everyone is free to believe whatever they choose to believe.
The doctor discovered the part of Maria's body that got swollen, and immediately, with Alpha-Aiden order, they drew out the blood, and immediately the heat process was done. What was left was for her to trigger her healing once she is awake; that alone will quicken the whole process.
He gave the order to one of the nurses to bathe Mariam and change her outfit as well, which was done immediately. Mariam was on a drip with her eyes still closed, and he sat close to her, watching her and praying in his heart for her to wake up, when Elvis came with his phone and said, “Alpha, your Luna wants to speak with you; she sounded so worried."
"I am busy." He said, and Elvis understood and passed the message to her, "The Alpha can’t speak to you at this moment."
"What? What is he doing that he can’t speak to his Luna.." She kept nagging, and Elvis apologised before he ended the call. Immediately, he got a text from the Nightwalker Beta and he asked if the visit will be possible.
"Cancel it; you lack sleep as well; I will pay the Nightwalkers a visit next time, and I trust the Alpha and his son to be capable; the report should be sent, and don’t question me."
"Yes Alpha."
A few moments later, Alpha Aiden fell asleep with his head close to the hands of Mariam while the Beta slept on the bed on the floor, but Elvis was the first to wake up and find out Mariam is awake.

Mariam
I opened my eyes and couldn’t recognise the place I was, but one thing I knew was that I was in the man’s car, which had saved me when I got dizzy and sick.
I tried to move, and I noticed someone had held my hands and was sleeping.
"You are awake, thank goodness." The second man who was with the man who saved me said something to me, and then I knew I was not the only one present in this room.
"What happened, and why is he sleeping here? Won’t he have body pains sleeping like this?"
"You were almost close to death but he saved you; even the doctors couldn’t get a remedy, and he hasn’t blink because he watched you all night and didn’t go home; you have to be grateful to him."
I felt like crying. Who is the man? Why will a stranger help me? Why do I feel like with him, no harm can come to me? I guess I owe him my life; I don’t mind being his slave for life to repay what he has done to me.
"Thank you very much for telling me this; I will never forget this day." I said, and finally the man who saved me was awake, and looking at him, I saw the joy in his eyes.
"You are awake! Tell me, how do you feel? Are you hungry? Let Elvis get the doctor and also get food for her." He ordered, and then I knew the other man's name was Elvis.
“Yes, Alpha Aiden." He called him an alpha, so the man who saved me is an alpha, and I think Elvis is the beta.
"I am fine; thank you so much for saving my life; I owe you my life." I said, with tears rolling down my cheeks, that I was unable to hold back the tears.
"You do not owe me anything, little one. I am happy you are much better now, and like I said earlier, you are my responsibility. You need enough rest; the doctors will be here to check you; and food will be available as well for you to eat and recover quickly." He said this to me with much assurance, and I guess I like him calling me little one.
"We owe him our lives." Clara said to me, and I agree with her, even if we are weak, the pain is not as severe as it was before, and we are not dead.
The doctor came with the nurses to check me, and I was given food to eat as well, but he insisted on feeding me, which was weird; he took care of me like I was his little one.
I finished eating and thanked him. “You don’t need to thank me; you are better now, but to fasten your healing, you need to make use of your wolf to trigger it." He said and Elvis also made emphasis; I felt sad because I have no idea how to do that and I only shifted once, which was on my eighteenth birthday.
I could not give a response. He looked at Elvis, and then his eyes were stocked at me. “You can’t trigger your wolf." I nodded.
