Agatha met with Queen Rebecca to inform her of the little problem they have with their plans. "What is it, Agatha?"
"I am sorry I failed you, my queen."
"What do you mean?" She asked and was curious to know what was happening.
"Alpha Aiden didn't leave the house today; he found Mariam in her room unconscious, and the house nurse is treating her as we speak."
"You mean Alpha Aiden called our family's personal nurse for Mariam?" She tightened her fist, and her eyes turned yellow immediately.
"I am sorry, My Queen; you can punish me."
She closed her eyes and tried to be calm. Then she knew they might be a problem. If the Alpha really cares for her,he will do everything to find out the truth, and that will place her on his bad side.
"Where are the chefs and maids?"
"They are in their rooms; I guess they are not on duty today." Agatha replied, still on her knees.
"Meet with them before the Alpha does; on no account should they tell the Alpha the truth; otherwise,I will wipe out their entire family." She gave an order, and Agatha rushed to pass the order to them, and they all vowed never to expose her as the one who ordered them to create a false story about Mariam being rude to them.
Agatha returned to the queen, saying, "It is done, my queen; you don't have any reason to be worried any more."
"Good, I want you to go now and tell me the nature of things with the Alpha."
"Yes, my queen." She replied and left immediately.
While the family nurse broke the good and bad news to the Alpha, she said, "She is fine, Alpha Aiden; she fainted as a result of starvation, and she also needs to heal quickly; if she fails to heal,she might never be able to shift into a werewolf again."
"Thank you, nurse. Look after her, and when she is awake,I will personally prepare her meal for her." Everyone was shocked at his statement, but they dare not argue with him,not for any reason.
He left the room and called the chef, maids, and guards that were on duty yesterday, and they were all shaking out of fear because his Alpha's eyes were visible, like he needed blood.
"What happened yesterday?" He questioned them, and they all kept mute; no one wanted to talk because they were all scared.
"Are you all deaf? In seconds, you know I can kill everyone of you, and no one, I repeat, no one, will dare to question me or stand before me to defend you, so I asked the last time what happened here, yes?" He roared at them all, and they all submitted and fell on their knees.
"Al....Alpha..Alpha...." One of the maids stuttered as she tried to speak.
"Speak before I cut out your tongue."
"Miss Mariam fought with the chef in the kitchen because they refused to give her breakfast. They tried to be reasonable with her, but she refused. She was reported to the queen and got punished by making her stay in her room all day."
"Without food?" He asked, and no one could give an answer, though he knew the answers already.
"I see, those in the kitchen kneel at my front this minute." They rushed immediately and kneeled at his front, shivering.
"You claim she was rude to you? Right? How dare you lie on an innocent girl who is yet to recover?"
"We are sorry, Alpha." They cried and thought they would be joining their ancestors.
"You all are fired; get them out of here." He said this before ordering others to go about their duties.
He gave an order to Sophia to serve Mariam fruits while he made preparations for a decent meal for Mariam.
Alpha Aiden entered the kitchen and ordered everyone to leave as he put on his apron, about to cook for Mariam. This is not his first time cooking; he always loved cooking for Nora, his late lover, and no one dares make mention of it outside the walls of his home.
He decided to make a full English breakfast, so he opened the can of beans and then warmed them in a small pot over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Immediately, he started cooking the sausages and bacon. While the beans are still getting warmed, he cooks the sausages over medium-low heat until browned and cooked through, turning as needed. Push the sausages to one side, add the bacon, and fry, flipping as needed.
"If you’re having black pudding, add it to the pan and fry, flipping once. Keep everything warm in the pan over a low flame." He remembered what Nora would tell him once he was in the kitchen, and he smiled, saying, "I miss you, Nora."
He prepared the mushrooms and tomatoes. In another pan, he sears the mushrooms until brown and caramelised. Moving to one side, he added the tomatoes, cut side down, and steamed.
He fried the bread and cooked the eggs, moved the meats from the pan, and fried the bread in the drippings until golden and crisp. Cooking the eggs in the pan that the mushrooms and tomatoes were in
Finally, breakfast was ready. He scooped the beans into the middle of the plate, then added the bacon at 1-2 o’clock, the sausages at 3 o’clock, the eggs at 6, the black pudding at 8 o'clock, and then filled the rest of the plate with the tomatoes at 11 o’clock and the mushrooms at 12. He then placed the fried bread in a spot to make it look attractive.
"Finally,I know I still have it in me." He smiled and remembered how Nora would kiss him, telling him, job well done.
Rebecca got informed about Aiden cooking for Mariam. She couldn't control her anger. He has never cooked for her, and now he is cooking for someone who looks like Nora.
She barged into the kitchen, saying, "Are you an Alpha or a cook?"
"I am an Alpha and also a father. I hope you learn as well from the punishment you did to Mariam. I will forgive you, but don't get on my nerves anymore."
"How could you?" She asked, but he just smiled and walked away, heading to the room where Mariam was.
It was time to eat, and he saw that the fruits were not served as ordered. He controlled his anger and called her name: "Mariam,it's time to eat; you need more energy to get better."
Mariam wasn't fully awake; she thought she was still dreaming and then called Alpha Aiden's dad, "Dad, you brought breakfast?"
Aiden felt so emotional and wished she could be his daughter, but it was just a coincidence that his late wife gave birth to a son and not a daughter.
Agatha heard the conversation and relayed the news to Queen Rebecca: "She called him father?"
"Yes, my queen."
"Damn it, I need her out as soon as possible." She threw things at Agatha's presence, and her daughter walked in.
"Mom, are you okay?"
"Jane,you are home? Yes, I am fine." She gave an evil smirk and thought of using her daughter as a way to get rid of Mariam. Aiden would have no choice but to side with his daughter.
