Writer’s POV
"She is really in a terrible condition." The doctor said in a trembling voice.
"Stop talking about the problem; what is the solution?" He asked, and everyone was shocked.
"She needs to remain here with us for some time and then we need to take out the silver and wolf bane, but she will take months to heal even if she is discharged, and I notice some terrible marks on her body; it seems she had a rough time with someone."
"Good, save her at all costs, and everything about her should be directed to me alone, okay?"
"Yes Alpha."
"Is she awake now?" He asked, and the doctor told him she was still sleeping, and he went in to check on her, saying, “Elvis, return home; tell my Luna I will not be coming home today, and don’t tell her the details; you know her jealousy spirit, she might think the little girl is my lover.”
"I will do as you say, but I am coming back to meet you here; I cannot let you sleep here alone."
"Am I complaining?" he asked.
"I know you are not, but as your beta, I must always protect you."
"We both know the reverse is the case; I am the one protecting you all."
"Whatever, even as an adult, you are still stubborn." Elvis added.
"Coming from someone who is as stubborn as me, go home to your wife once you deliver the report; you wouldn’t want her to sleep in a lowly bed."
"A night without me won’t kill her; I am coming back even if you like it or not."
Alpha Aiden moved closer to him, saying, "I hate you."
"I hate you two." The beta left immediately to inform the Luna, who got angry and questioned, "Why is he not coming home? Is she really that beautiful?"
"Alpha Aiden is not a womaniser; clear any doubt from your mind." He said to her but this is a simple truth, he never liked her, but because of the friendship with the Alpha, he acts like he likes her, and he believes the death of the late Luna was not ordinary.
"How sure are you? If he truly loved his first wife, why on earth did he marry me? What if he gets someone new?" She said, and Elvis got offended, "Rebecca, we both know the truth—the only woman in his heart is his late lover. Do you know why he married you? It was because she asked for it so the throne will not be divided. I know how you were so desperate to be in his arms, so if you should thank anyone for making you the Luna, it's the late Queen. Trust the alpha." He said reminding her where she belongs, even if she is now the Luna, was something she never merited, and he acted with respect before taking his leave.
"I hate him; I will call him myself." She brought out her phone to call Aiden, but it turned out his phone was switched off. She screamed and scattered her hair, asking, "Is she that beautiful to be able to keep him out of his home?"

Alpha Aiden covered Mariam properly on the bed and caressed her hair with passion, "Get well soon, little one." He said and joined two chairs together to sleep when the door opened, revealing his friend Elvis coming in with a bed and everything needed to pass a night at the hospital.
"Is this necessary, Elvis?" He questioned placing his hands on his forehead out of frustration.
"I think you mean thank you, right? You are welcome then." He said with a smile, and they arranged the bed together.
Many who have not lived with the Alpha will think he is ruthless and not kind; he is feared like a plague, though he deserves such praise because he is a powerful wolf, a primordial white wolf that is twice or triple stronger than ten alphas, zetas, betas, or gammas put together. This is why he is called the Alpha of all Alphas. Yes, he has all these qualities, but he is very simple in nature and fun to be with; no wonder girls and advanced ladies are ready to be his mistress. Some say he is supposed to have lots of wives and concubines for his ranking.
He said his prayer and also prayed for Mariam to get better before he finally dozed off.
At the middle of the night, he woke up and noticed Mariam was vibrating; he rushed to check her, and her body was burning like fire. Elvis woke up as well and dashed out to call the doctor, who came in immediately to check on her.
They tried several means to cool her then, but none were working, so he suggested, "Get me lots of ice blocks right now." They obeyed without questioning.
The beta kept thinking about what he wanted to do; the ice blocks were brought, and he poured them in the bath tub and carried her by placing her in the bath tub filled with ice.
"He is going to kill her; the degree of coldness might kill a weak wolf." The doctor whispered to the beta.
"I have seen him do something like this when he was 20. He is saving her, but how is this possible? There is no way she could be..." He paused and thought about it; Nora is dead for good, and there is no way she might be brought back to life through rebirth.
The beta was deep in thought, then he assumed there might be some kind of werewolf out there that might have such pains, but that doesn’t mean she is Nora; it is impossible.
He requested for more ice blocks, and they brought them for him immediately; he added them himself and continued that way without blinking his eyes to sleep. Fear was written in his eyes as he had a flashback of his time with Nora.
Nora is strong in combat even if she can’t transform, and she was eager to find the hunters that attacked her packs. When she found out the location, she went there herself, but she was overpowered and was shot with so much silver bullet, and an arrow of wolf bane was fired at her, though it didn’t penetrate; it was just a scratch, but the little wolf bane affected her, and luckily Aiden came with his beta and gamma to join the fight.
"You came." She smiled.
"How can you be so foolish as to fight them yourself? I need to take you to the clinic."
"I know those eyes; you are worried about me; I will not die, and a silver bullet or scratch of wolf bane can’t hurt me." She said it with boldness but ended up coughing out bad blood.
"Stop talking, please. Hang in there." He said, carrying himself, "Put me in a bath tub filled with ice blocks, and I will get better." She said, I am burning up like fire.
"Are you crazy; you might get killed with such a degree of coldness?"
"Do you trust me?" She asked.
Yes, I do."
"Then do as I say; once I get better and my lips turn pale, locate the part of my body that gets swollen, draw the blood out, and use fire, I will be back to normal." She said.
At the end of the flashback, by morning Mariam's lips had turned pale, and he was shocked, even though he knew the next step.
