Chapter 126

Writer’s POV

Sylvester stood at the spot he talked to Mariam and watched her walked away,” I can’t believe she won’t back down and she is willing to fight in the duel, unbelievable.” He didn’t even move from the spot, he thought about everything, how he had hope things would work out for him once she backs now.

“You have to stop this obsession and move on with your life okay? She is not worth it, soon you will get to meet your mate.” He remembered the advise given to him by Rita at her chicken store.

He took a deep breath and finally walked to his room. Taking off his clothes,he entered the bathtub and remained in there lost in his thoughts thinking about all the promises his father told him when he was a little boy.

*Flashback*

Sylvester just completed 6 years old and Alpha Aiden organized a special birthday party for him.

“Happy birthday my son, guess what?” Alpha Aiden said to his son caressing his hair.

“You got me a video game as my gift?” He asked and Aiden nodded his head saying,“No, it’s more than that, starting from today I will start training you so when you come off age,you will be prepared to take over the crown.”

“What are you two gossiping about?” Queen Rebecca came out.

“Mummy, guess what? Daddy told me he will start my training so I can be prepared to take the crown.”

“Wow, my son is getting matured already, you are going to make us proud.” Aiden didn’t smile at his wife,he never looked at her as his but the connection they had was his son that will take after him,he can’t make him feel unwanted so he will do everything possible to make him feel special,he knows if Nora was to be alone,she will treat him like her own son.

Alpha began Sylvester first training and he got wounded, he thought his father is going to scold him, instead he said,“You have done well for today, getting injured means you need to take a break for today.”

“Okay daddy, I will do better tomorrow.”

Alpha dedicated all his time to make sure Sylvester grows up to be stronger like him. Sylvester was just 16 when he met his wolf and his father got angry knowing he didn’t take his Primordial wolf.

Sylvester heard his parents argued because of him,“Are you sure he is my son? Everyone from our lineages gets the primordial wolf.”

“What are you trying to say? Are you going to hate your own son because he doesn’t have the primordial wolf? He got the alpha eyes and blood,what else do you want? If Nora son was to be alive,he will definitely take after your wolf.” She yelled and at the same time reduced her voice to explain things to him.

“I am sorry I shouted at you,it’s not your fault or my son’s fault either, everyone has their fate,I will make sure I train him stronger,with or without a primordial wolf,he will always conquer and win.”

Starting from that day,he doubled the training for Sylvester and he became exactly like his father when it comes to strength.

Sylvester in tears looking at spot imagine a second option, “What if he met his daughter as a baby? That means father would not have valued me as his own son,I guess to get his love is to be the head.” He came out from the bathtub, dried his body and hair.

He wore a simple outfit and left to see his father.

“Father, how have you eaten yet?” He questioned.

“No, not yet, why do you ask?”

“I want to buy lunch for you and have a conversation with you as well.”
“Sure,let the driver get the car ready then,we really haven’t had time to have lunch together.” Aiden said but in his heart,he is thinking on how to tell his son to step down while Sylvester is trying to find out from his dad,if he still cares for him now his daughter has returned.

At the roof top in Galud,a popular place where the rich can only afford,they sell the best food and most persons mostly make use of the rooftop to propose to their lover.

“Thanks for the meal son, before you tell me what you have in mind,can you do something for your father?” Aiden decided to ask now they are both in a happy mood.

“What could that be father?”

“It’s about your sister Mariam,you know I had no choice but to make such a decision,I know you really don’t wish to fight your sister,so you can back out and we move on.“
Sylvester laughed at his father statement but his laughter got consumed with pains and sadness.

“Father,what makes you think I don’t wish to fight her?”

Aiden looked at his son and didn’t know what to say,“Father,if you had Mariam with you from the start,will you consider me your son?”

“Of course,you are still my son no matter what,be it you are older or younger,why will you think about such all of a sudden?” Aiden questioned his son who was willing to pour out his mind.


“If you want me to believe that you care for me as your son then tell your daughter to back out,afterall she is just a lady that is engaged to the alpha of the Nightwalkers pack.” He placed his demand,a demand his father cannot agree to.

“Stop doing this Sylvester,why are you making me choose?”

“Father,I am not,you once promised me that one day I will take over the crown and people know my father for keeping his words,if this duel will take place,then I will know my father hates me because I don’t possess a primordial wolf.” He stood up without tears in his eyes but his heart.

“Sylvester,I am sorry that I never kept my word,please forgive me,I can always give you a high title even if you are not the crowned Alpha, according to birth right, Mariam ought to be the queen and we both know that.”

“No father,I don’t and I will never wish to know that,I am happy we ate together,I need to leave now,good night father.” He left and Alpha Aiden buried his head wondering what to do,is home is getting destroyed gradually and he needs to fix it as soon as possible.


Sylvester took a taxi home to see his mother and let her know he is ready for the worse, either he wins or he losses,he knows where he stands now in the sight of his father.

He got told that his mother was at the garden,“I guess mother finally picked a new spot in the house to get a beautiful view.” He stopped the maid saying,“Get a bottle of wine for me and my mother.”

“Yes Alpha Sylvester.” The maid replied.

He walked to his mother and saw her admiring the flowers in the garden,“Mother,guess you are having a great time out here alone.”

“Yes my son,I keep imagining how it will look like the day you become the Almighty Alpha but you make me feel like,I am forcing you into it, because of your feelings for her.”

“Mother, things have changed now,yes I do like Mariam but I can’t let that ruin the things I am supposed to do as your son.” Queen Rebecca turned around with a surprise look,“Son,is everything okay? You sounded a bit different you know?”

“I know mother,but I am serious with what I just said,I am ready to fight Mariam at the duel,though I will be careful not to harm her.” He assured her and the maid came with the bottle of wine.

“This is goodnews son,then we begin your training from tomorrow,you have to make everyone know that you are the only worthy opponent to get the crown.” Rebecca saif in excitement as the maid turned the wine into the glass cup , serving them and taking her leave.

“Mother, how have you been cooking with dad,I realise he never appreciated you,not even for once,all he cares about is his late wife.”

“My son,I am used to it already but I know all these won’t matter anymore,once you become the next Almighty Alpha.” She smiled at her son and they cheered to a better life and more winning.

“Mother,I heard you don’t want Jane to come home even when they are on holiday,why mother? I kind of miss my sister.”

“I know you miss her but she is letting unnecessary things bother her,I want her to face her studies and you face your training, when things are in order she can start coming home.” She assured her son.

They talked about so many things and he told his mother he will be sleeping out because he needed to train with someone that is powerful as well but promise to allow his mother to train him the next day.

Queen Rebecca feels happy now that her son is back to his senses,the only thing left is for her to get her hands dirty by getting rid of Mariam for good.

Heading to her room,Alpha Aiden stopped her saying,“We need to talk.”

“I am not in the mood to talk to you Alpha Aiden,I need to go to my room now.” She replied him trying to walk passed him but he stopped her by pinning her to the wall,“I am still your husband and the father of your children,you should learn to respect me.” He yelled and she could smell alcohol from his breath.

“You went out drinking? Why? Are you frustrated? Well so you know,you caused everything,if only you gave the crown to your son and allowed your daughter to be married none of this will be happening.”

“Are you turning my son against me? Why are you not reasonable? Do you think I am happy with everything? Stop putting me in a tight spot when I try to make a decision.”

“What if I refuse?”

“You are going to regret what you are doing,I will never forgive you if my son’s and daughter becomes enemy.” He said but she left him. He entered his room and fell to the bed immediately he dozed off.
