Chapter 219: We Have A Funeral To Plan
Chapter 219: We Have Funeral To Plan
Adriano
Nick Myers knew where Camilla was and if our current plan of fake death doesn't work, there will be no limit that I won't exceed to get an address from this man.
"She is happy," he said, instantly trying to shift against his blinding look at the look we cast at him.
"For once in her life, she is safe and she is happy."
He misunderstood the kind of information we were looking for but I still held my hand out when Domenico took a step forward, no doubt he was done with this man entirely. Even with all of our resources, we don't know what kind of condition Camilla will be in when we find her. Safe and happy may be far from the truth but it was a start that told me she was still alive.
"And how do you fucking know this?" I asked, slipping off the brass knuckles I have adoring my hands. The action alone had him visibly relaxing, whether he was aware of it or not.
"Have you seen her?" Domenico asked.
Based on Gregorio's research, the Myers are very rarely in direct contact with everything that Lucas runs, Nick has his own house outside The Safe and I don't believe for a second he has seen Camilla enough to tell me she is happy. He could have seen her every day of the past one year and it would still be a fucking lie.
"There was a party." He began as Domenico flicked the lighter back open, closing it and then opening it again.
The lid makes a faint clicking sound every time he does it and I know Domenico enough to know it was one of his mind fucks to get him talking.
"About a month ago," he continues, sweating because he knows he is supposed to keep his mouth shut.
"It was called the West party and she was there."
I stayed silent the entire time, storing away every single word he was saying, no matter how much of his nervousness was creeping in, each stutter and pause had Domenico more and more tense but he stayed where he was across the room.
"At her own will, with a girl." He looked away, not because he was lying but because he was scared of what our reaction would be like. I glanced sideways at Domenico to see how he was interpreting this, however, I didn't expect to see him calmer now than he was before.
"You really expect us to believe Camilla was kidnapped just a year ago, held against her will and now she is parting and in a relationship?" Domenico shook his head as his voice remained a deadly quiet, pushed to his very limit.
I couldn't tell if it was because something indicates Nick was lying that I didn't pick up on but whatever it was, I was calling bullshit too. Nancy told us she heard screas that night and there was no fucking way Camilla was able to be out at event and not try to at the very least contact us.
"I gave you information, it is not my fault you don't like what I have to say, asshole." He directed straight towards Domenico, fear being the clear motivator in his words. It was a stupid move, and I saw the flash of realization just as my brother pushed off the wall, not stopping until his hands were wrapping tight around Nick's throat.
I didn't stop him as he tipped the man's head straight back to a painful angle, opening the lighter and holding it barely even an inch away from his eyes. Nick tried to shout but the grip kept any noise from escaping him. Even then, no amount of sound could manage to escape these four walls, identical to the very place I killed Raphael.
"We tried playing nice but now it was my turn to wager a deal." Domenico spits, keeping his fingers so tight that his face had already turned an ugly shade of red.
"Tell me everything you know about that night at the West party and we won't have to find out what happens when I light your eyeball on fire."
I didn't feel anything as he awkwardly tried to look over at me for help, but he should know better that he was on his own. Domenico may be under me but he is my brother above all else. Camilla is family and I won't pretend like I haven't already killed for her. I promised myself a year ago that there was nothing I wouldn't do to get her back and I have been staying true to that.
If Nick didn't open his worthless mouth within a few seconds, Domenico was going to make true his threats.
"Don't you people realize what you have done to her?" He wheezes, becoming frantic as Domenico intentionally begins to burn his eyelashes off one by one.
His words made him freeze though. What have we done to her?
"I have no doubt you are going to see her again because you will but didn't expect to find the same girl who left you a year ago."
"You are telling me you think you know our girl better than we do?" Domenico sneers, turning his eyelashes to ash again and again over his tears.
"I am telling you that words have a way of traveling when big things happen. You took something away from her and now…"
"You have got to be out of your damn mind." Domenico interrupted, done with waiting just as three knocks came from the door behind me, only one person knowing we were down here.
Twisting the handle, I wasn't surprised to see a messy haired Gregorio on the other side, an urgent look on his face.
"We need to talk." He said, sparing only a single glance at Nick and a slight frown at the fact Domenico was standing over him with the lighter.
Even under the influence, Domenico could read the seriousness in his tone, dropping Nick's head and walking over to the door.
"Would the Camilla you know murdered someone and leave them to burn alive in their own home?" Nick tries as a last attempt but I can tell by his horror he didn't expect our smiles in response to his words.
We all knew what happened in her village and it was the first sign we got that she was alive.
"The Camilla we know is a survivor." Gregorio said, no warmth in his expression despite the pride we all had when we got news of Edward's death.
Our only regret was that we didn't get there on time to find her before she was gone all over again.
"Tell me this, did she kill her stepfather at her own freedom or was the man you call your leader there ro make sure she didn't run afterwards?" I asked, holding Nick's stare but his silence was confirmation enough.
"What! You can't leave me here!" He shouted as Domenico left too, my hand grasping on the handle of the door.
"Hey, we had a deal!" He screamed.
"We will let you go but you have seen things we can risk you sharing right now."
"As if people don't already know who you assholes are!" He cried, terrified as the light went out and he became blanketed in unwavering darkness.
"Come on, Nick." I tut.
"I know you are smarter than that."
All I received is a blank look of confusion and this time when I smile, it is genuine in every way.
"We have a funeral to plan for."

Camilla Pov.
I watched as Stella leans down to kiss me but I dip my head down instead, placing my lips to her collar bone right where the stern of inked thorns curled across the skin.
"Sorry," she breathed against my neck as I withdrew my fingers from inside her, rolling to lay down beside her naked body.
A thin layer of sweat licked up her front from the heat of her orgasm but it wasn't her fault I didn't experience the same. My head just wasn't in the right space right now.
"Are you okay?" I panted, resting my one hand against her stomach and feeling her racing heart against my palm. She opened her eyes to look at me with a turn of her head but she knew I didn't cum.
"No, it is not." She quietly protests, climbing on top of my body and tucking a few strands of my hair behind my ear.
"This was supposed to be your distraction and not mine."
I sighed softly as her mouth came down to my neck, gently sucking the skin in between her teeth but I wasn't relaxed as my hands moved down to her waist.
"Stella?" I mumbled as I held her hips from rolling against me, feeling her pause against the sensitive spot on my throat.
I couldn't do this right now, my body eased only when she got the hint, propping her hands on either side of my face so she could look at me. If I had a mirror, I am pretty sure the only thing I would see in myself is guilt.
"It is okay to grieve, you know?" She said, instantly causing my expression to harden as I slowly sat up in the bed in her room.
She slid off my lap beside me as she pulled some of the bedsheets over her bare body, my feet doing quite the opposite as I slid off the creaking mattress.
"Camilla…."
"I am just a little distracted right now." I interrupted what sounded too much like concern.
Slipped on my pants that were just slightly too big for my body.
